  1. I agree. We might not be able to play through Hughes, at least not at this stage in his career, but I don't view him as a liability when he is out on the court. He's certainly better than Poke.
  2. +1000 Even if they limited beer sales to just the upstairs kiosks to control distribution while limiting any additional overhead, they could easily net $1,000-$2,000 more per game in profit. Not to mention it might lead to more hot dogs and other things sold as more people would visit the concession stands.
  3. I'd label TO as a shoe in. He's #2 in career receiving yards and 3rd in receiving TDs
  4. I'd say it's the one who labels others as the fool when in reality they are the one that is the true fool. I've stated my case and you stated yours. I'd agree with your opinion, but then we'd both be wrong...
  5. I also heard he talked about JAR renovations. For those of us at the game therefore couldn't watch the feed could you provide some bullet points?
  6. Yes, lets just take my texts out of context and ignore anything that doesn't fit your narrative. You'd make an excellent politician. The below sentence immediately followed what you wrote. I'm defending the committee by defending the teams the committee picked. FPI, BCS Rankings, and pretty much every other objective metric agreed with the 4 teams that got in. Just because you don't agree with the teams they picked doesn't make them biased and incompetent as you seem to believe they are.
  7. The reported attendance was 2,742. I actually feel that was a somewhat accurate figure as the STH reserved seats appeared to be mostly full from where I was sitting in the bleachers.
  8. Your statement is mostly true, but not all G5 programs are rushing to play Bama, Oklahoma, or USC every year. They also let programs like Purdue, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Boston College, or even a middle of the road team like Minnesota buy them.
  9. Pitt beat Penn State. Are you going to say there isn't a large gap between the two? Had Penn State beat either Pitt or Michigan and the losses been equal (between OSU/Penn State) and Penn State had the better record plus the head to head win, Penn State would have easily been ahead of OSU and we wouldn't be having this conversation. It would be the same situation as last year when MSU got in (rightfully so) over OSU.
  10. No different than Wisconsin this year or Oklahoma the year before. We typically take the largest paycheck available, which is offered by the blue bloods. Sometimes you luck into facing a Michigan program when it's down or luck into facing a Penn State after a huge scandal, but more times than not it ends in a 30-40+ point loss. That's why I was glad to see we let ourselves get bought by a team like Illinois.
  11. All 3 of those teams had 1 loss and I'm on record as saying I feel that year is more debate worthy than this year, which I don't feel was even close. That year OSU/Baylor/TCU were all 1 loss teams, OSU still came away with a better win %, which is what you'd need to overcome SOS. This year OSU had 1 fewer loss, a better SOS, and a better win %. I suppose the metric I value would be strength of record. That 13th game can be valuable in a close race and it helped Penn State narrow the gap some, but the selection committee was on record as saying the gap between OSU/PSU was too large to overcome going into that game as OSU had the most impressive resume outside of Bama heading into championship week.
  12. At the end of the day OSU had wins over the 6th, 7th, and 8th ranked teams. 2 of those 3 teams went onto win high profile bowls. Looking for excuses for why they shouldn't have been there after the fact is ridiculous. Given hindsight of what we know now and if the playoffs teams were picked today, it would be USC in the playoffs, not Penn State. A 3 loss P5 team was never going to get selected over a 1 loss P5. My defenses were specifically regarding Ohio State because that's the team you've solely been targeting. Had you attacked Bama or Washington, I'd have defended them too. YOU'RE the one that turned this into an Ohio State hate fest. It seems convenient you have skipped over every point that proves just how wrong you are. You criticize the selection committee for not being objective and liked a post that said they should use the old BCS ratings. According to the old BCS, the top 4 teams got in.
  13. I actually didn't think the Zips played that bad of defense when they were able to get set defensively. BGSU settled for and connected on a lot of 10-15 foot midrange jumpers. Some highly questionable fouls in the 1st half on Big Dog and Kwan impacted how aggressive either could play defensively, especially since Hughes was pretty much out. Certainly there is still room for improvement. I'm going to guess, or at least hope, that the slow start had something to do with the 12 or so days they had off. We turned the ball over 16-17 times and 5 out of our 1st 7 possessions were turnovers.
  14. Then if you want to use that as a metric then you have to concede at the very least the OSU team that went onto win the national championship deserved to be there. You refuse to do that. I feel the committee has gone 12/12 as you can't predict how a game that hasn't been played yet will play out. You can only go off of what each team has done up to the selection point. You haven't disputed any of the other teams that have made It besides the 2 Buckeye teams and since your all important hindsight metric shows that the 2014-2015 Buckeyes were deserving, that means the committee is 11/12. Looks like they are doing a pretty good job. That's what I've been arguing.
  15. We really need to cut back on our turnovers. I believe our first 5 possessions consisted of 4 turnovers to 1 shot attempt.
  16. We really need to cut back on our turnovers. I believe our first 5 possessions consisted of 4 turnovers to 1 shot attempt.
  17. I went to ESPN to check out other MAC scores at the start of half-time. It was accurate. Might want to consider using that.
  18. 37-35 at the half. 3 of the 4 fouls on Big Dog and Kwan IMO weren't fouls. That foul on Kwan when the rebounder fell into him was atrocious.
  19. How OSU performed in the playoff is irrelevant as that data point wasn't available to the selection committee at the time of the selection. I do find it funny you use OSU terrible performance as justification for why they shouldn't have been picked this year, but disregard them winning it in 2015 as justification for them being selected that year. You can't have it both ways. I've posted large paragraphs on many different topics if you want to go back through my post history you can see that for yourself. I've also seen you belittle OSU more times than I can count and this topic I'm fairly certain is the only time I can ever remember responding to your criticism. I've seen you, Buckzip and others go at it, but I've pretty much stayed out of it. I consider myself to be an objective fan, or at least I try to be. If in some parallel universe Kent State had a season where they deserved to be in CFP or be an at-large team in March Madness, I'd make my opinion known. If there is a year where Akron does well enough to be in the conversation for CFP or an at-large for March Madness but their resume comes up a tad short IMO, I'd state that opinion as well. I do think Akron got hosed having to play a road game at OSU for the NIT, but that is an entirely different issue.
  20. I actually think the Minnesota job is a pretty attractive opening. Its a program that actually has some talent, plays in a weak division, is a large state school in a decently populated state that features 1 FBS team, and has excellent facilities. They are certainly better than Iowa State, Kansas, Purdue, Cincy, and have a much higher ceiling than a Houston. The right coach can turn them around just like Dantonio turned around MSU.
  21. Appreciate the heads up. I'd give you a like, but I'm out of them today.
  22. Thanks! I actually bought a fire stick and a friend is loading it for me. Knew I'd have access to televised games. Wasn't aware I'd have access to ESPN3.
  23. No, I'm defending the selection committee's selections as I have agreed with them. You have solely been targeting 1 school, which is why I have defended it. I'm on record as saying an 11-1 OSU from the 2015-2016 college football season wasn't 1 of the 4 most deserving and the committee made the right decision to leave them out. What I have found to be consistent is your inability to be objective when it comes to anything OSU related. If I actually cared enough I could go back through your posts on this forum and find at least 50 posts of you ragging on OSU in just the last year alone. You've probably made reference to an ancient Cardale Jones tweet 10-20 times alone. OSU could go 14-1 and lose in the national championship game and you will come up with some tin foil hat excuse for why they shouldn't have been there. Edit: Actually even worse OSU had a season where they DID go 14-1 and won the national championship and you are still arguing they weren't one of the 4 best teams therefore shouldn't have been in the playoffs. Do you honestly believe yourself or are you just trolling?
  24. Of course Akron waits until after I completely cut my cable, therefore have no access to ESPN3, before moving away from those online streams.
