We do expect a lot. And rightly so. If we are on this blog, we are invested in this team's success. And while we can't psycho-analyze the players and their motivation, we all certainly see a pattern of stalled success. With football, we expect little but with Dambrot we expect some results or we might as well be a team like BG who has empty stands and can get really excited about beating the MAC leader. But as soon as I write this I think of the dark Hipsher years and how far we've come. Conundrum.

If I missed an earlier post apologize, was Josh in last night? What I saw at the end was Kwan yelling at everyone and a lot of indifference from Big Dog and "too cool for school" Noah. I would like to see a Hoosiers move and the coach bench all of them at Buffalo.

Started this thread to give all of us a place to vent our feelings on the state of the season and Zips basketball. Be negative. Be positive. Be angry. Believe or don't believe. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst and want to see the Zips can get some joy back in their game.

I was just saying that at home tonight. Would be nice if he lost even 20#? And whoever mentioned having Poke in there at the end. Brilliant. Anything would have been better than throwing it in to the guy who can't jump and has four guys standing around him. But I qualify it with...I'm not the coach nor would you want me to be. And as for this Friday, I think we are looking at a 20+ loss up there. Once the second half of Kent occurred, the rest of the season became quite predictable. Hope to get that home win against Miami but don't expect that to be an easy one either. These guys seem really down and angry with each other.

This is just venting: There's a lot to say and nothing to say. I'm as loyal as they come, but I tuned out of the season in the 2nd half of the Kent game. I tuned out on this season being anything as special as we were made to believe it would be. Frankly, a nice, relaxing 12-12 season with a late season surge would be really nice about now or any year instead of this constant melodrama. Hell, even when our players are healthy and aren't on suspension this crap still happens. I can't explain it. (Coming here for some misery loving company) This just seems to be the pattern year after year after year. We have these great starts or mid-season peeks and then everyone figures us out. Does it really matter what seed we get? I'm thinking it might be better for them to have a first round game at home and maybe shake off whatever is going on here. I was just astonished by the sloppiness. It reminded me of those Kitten games when they would one possession after another just strip the ball out of our players hands. Always hopeful and would love to be cruising along right now but not having any expectations going into the tournament is a bit of a relief.

Once again, Novus Clinic to the rescue. Way to kill the crowd

Finally. She resurfaces.

Just happy to have the video. It keeps on giving. The crazy Kent woman praying, the crying Kent cheerleader, the Kent player on the floor, Darryl Roberts and his mom. One of the greatest nights or McKnights. (Don't forget Brett's clutxh free throws for us to overtime...I think). Geno and Kent had a great run in the NIT that year. Then he dumped his players and is now an asst coach in Long Island. Karma.

Spoke to Josh at the Q. If you want seats in like lower 106 or 111, it's $200 per person and you get same seats for all 7 games. That's about $28per game or $66 per Zips game. Of course if the unthinkable occurs you will be out $$$ unless you want to watch those other teams. Tough call.

NEVER GETS OLD!

It's incredibly elitist and pisses me off each year.
-
thank you for this. the Zfund "priority system" often leaves some of the most loyal season/blue seat tickets holders in a spot of bother when we open our envelope at the Q and see we are once again relegated to nose bleeds. Always looking for other options.

I forgot we beat them twice last year which perpetuated the myth that it's "hard" to beat a team 3x in one season.

I'm not a fan of changing rules just to feed the short attention span of the masses. However, from this fan's perspective exciting, fun games come to painful, crowd-energy sucking endings when the team down by 8 or 9 points fouls incessantly just to extend the game and 90% of the time it doesn't change the outcome. It either makes the game look much closer than it was or vastly extend the margin of victory. So maybe this 2 free throw penalty would be a good beginning. And giving teams free hacks because of the 1 and 1 rule also is a buzz kill.

During games emotions get the best of people (why we aren't coaches) and it seems like the roof is collapsing at the JAR. I always get a reality check after the game by reading the other teams blogs, and many of them expect us to always come back and win every game.

Word. That 1200 # seems like a lot. Do they know something we don't? If we weren't such a polite crowd, we would find clever ways of showing our disapproval for these activities.

Ugh. five minutes after typing this I thought to myself...hmm...that wasn't right. Win out at home and we win the MAC. Nice place to be.
-
Or if we win our two home games and one of our remaining away games we will have sole possession of first place? (Ugh. My math skills are bad, too.).

I've probably been the biggest hand wringer about playing certain teams in Cleveland. But I also know how Cleveland plays out has much to do with "Luck" (someone named Ken said we are the best in the country in that area) and the seeding. Maybe it was the 2009 season when we got a real benefit falling to the 3 seed instead of having the 1 seed because we ended up on the Ball State side of things and the war of attrition really benefited us. The way things are going now the seedings of 1, 2, and 3 being Zips, Bulls, and Cats may/could be a real benefit to us. Is Buffalo better than us? Doubt it. Our last two games have been pretty much even. They are winning one way. We are winning our way. True believers at other schools may not see us as this sleek, athletic team but have to worry that we are finding ways to win. I'm sure the coaching staff would certainly be cheering if SUNY Canada gets knocked off in the quarters by Western Michigan. But you know our team has to be hungrier for it this year than any other team and as Coach said after the game "the law of averages" usually evens things out.

Totally psyched for Friday.

Heard the same thing and have to agree but in this game we had a cushion and it was worth the risk.

Never in doubt!

Meanwhile Buffalo cruising along in Mt Pleasant. Love my Zips but I'm a realist about how this will all play out even if we do win tonight

What can one say?
