  1. I feel like I've sat through this same game 100x. Always wondering...Will they? Won't they?
  2. Following up on the Rocket blog..."cold as ice. (Not that) willing to sacrifice.". Well, except for Josh
  3. I'd like to change my vote to "under" on the crowd size.
  4. That statement that we clinch a share presumes we win tonight? Which of course we will.
  5. They are clever. Enjoyable read
  6. It's very hard, no, impossible to take seriously any "formula" that considers "luck" in the equation. I also think any 20 people with little basketball knowledge could probably come up with brackets that are similar to the final product. Just tell them that they have to consider $$$ as a tiebreaker in all cases.
  7. We won't see Nick Dials on the bench this year since UT coach fired him end of last year. I remember a few years ago they took it to us at home and beat us twice in one season. See this game as tougher than the Ravenna game.
  8. Well my taking them lightly won't hurt the Zips too much. We were hardly embarrassed.
  9. Well assuming is overrated and apparently so is Marcus Keane as the Miami fans made clear loudly and often
  10. Assuming Central lays smackdown on Miami today, looks like the top 3 seeds are crystallizing and hopefully an epic brutal semi final ensues between Bulls and Chipps in Cleveland.
  11. The day after we beat Ball State they had a full article on the Zips and one on the Ravenna loss to BG. That game deserved a reporter? But this should probably be in a different thread
  12. Looks like there is/will be some separation developing and Zips, Bulls, Chipps, and Kittens will be top four seeds. Hopefully, in that order.
  13. (And we all know if a certain team from Ravenna were 21-4, the ABJ would be covering each game like the Super Bowl: an article from an actual reporter and a separate column each game from Marla comparing this team to the glory years and maybe something about how Senderoff is second coming of Stan Heath.)
  14. I really like these Friday wins! Makes for a stress-free weekend.
  15. Happy to be 100% wrong!!
  16. Looks like we are in a good place at half. Would be nice occasionally to be up 19 like OU is on Ball State at half
  17. Anyone on the ground in Ypsilanti?
  18. I just don't think the Zips are out of their 3 point shooting slump. Want to be wrong but I think it will take one more game to snap out of it .
  19. Since I've been a voice of reason today I will switch gears and be a conspiracy monger and add: if we are playing CMU in the final at the Q, the bias will be to get the nation's leading scorer in the NCAA tournament at all costs. And you all know how that could play out
  20. On the flip side, the teams playing us are also getting screwed. So I guess that evens out. Then maybe we get an extra day of rest if our Tuesday opponent plays on Saturday. We play Toledo Tuesday but they play Saturday. Maybe a benefit? As for the fans, I miss the Sunday afternoon games (or was it Saturday?). Fortunately, in my house we have schedules that allow us to get to every home game no matter what the time. But having us on ESPN U and winning! And some talk from commentators about our being a top mid major is worth the switch.
  21. (At the serious risk of sounding like a BobKitten Blogger) my two cents is that no one has stepped up to lead the Rowdies. We had some dynamic, funny, obnoxious leaders who would get right in the face of the coaches. I loved the old "Erroneous on all Counts" sign with the crying Kent cheerleader (maybe I'm conflating two signs). And I think having the Rowdies n the corner with the opposing team was awesome. But then someone on here complained about the Band being in the opposite corner because they were too loud. Not much will change until some students are willing to step up.
  22. Fortuitous that Zippy was in the left corner at the right moment. Nice to see her in the clips.
  23. Not sure where to post this but just read Warren Ball has another year with the Zips. Even though I attend all the football games, I'm not sure how big a deal this is. Didn't get to see enough of him to know.
  24. Word. And it says a lot that he could forget his last mistake so quickly and be completely in that moment. On another note, Josh when not taking 3s had some good minutes
  25. Of course, this heads up play by Noah followed that bone headed soft pass to Kwan that almost cost us the game. But who was paying attention?
