  1. The fact that monrowe is a new poster here and his tag is from Washington DC tells me he's one of those elected officials that sure knows a thing or two about what they're talking about! Heck, let's legislate change to the whole damn N-C-A-A to make it easier for anyone to identify as whatever conference they feel like being in today! Either that or he's a 23 year old living in his elected official Mom or Dad's basement, just trolling to get attention....sad....
  2. Kudos to the coaches for trying to piece something together for this season's home meets, but it sure sounds kinda pathetic. So the first meet of the season, a "quad" meet with three other teams, will be "hosted" by Akron, but it will be held at Youngstown State University, (and YSU will be competing!) with all the running events on Friday afternoon, as well as most of the field events. Throws will be back at Akron then on Saturday. . And the second meet, the Wright-Campbell, to honor two past T & F standouts at U of A, is still in limbo. So, let's say I'm a senior miler from Indiana who is top 10 quality, and I'm considering Akron as my only non-P5 offer to attend and compete....do I want to go where I can't even practice on the track for fear of injuries....this could go downhill quickly, sadly.
  3. Get off my lawn!!!!
  4. Oooooo....I got to talk to the great Thad Matta.....look at me!!!!
  5. I too just walked in from my excursion to the Q. Stuck around to watch first half of second game. What a huge difference inintensity levels between these two games. Kent and CMU played hard nosed and up tempo, and it was so obvious after watching the Zips play so timidly in game 1. How many freakin’ lay ups did we flat out miss? The only time we really challenged the middle it was by our smallest player. How many second and third chance baskets did Buffalo get, many times due to poor rebounding or lack of hustle for loose balls on our part. How many one and out trips did we make down the floor. At one point in the first half our 3 point % was better than our overall %, and both were in the teens. The refs had nothing to do with this, we just flat out sucked. Fun to be there though, and see friends and other fans from other teams having fun. Great to have the tourney here, IMHO.
  6. Then you know nothing about U of A sports....
  7. As usual, very astute B & G. I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking is this George's usually inept, or at least incomplete reporting, or is AR gone, hurt, ?? Not much activity here from his camp, either UPDATE: Alex's Twitter page still shows Max Zip football activity, so leaning towards bad George....
  8. Bad optics, but probably....
  9. Experience speaks!
  10. Maybe the U should buy this.... https://www.cleveland.com/news/2019/03/spire-institute-highly-regarded-ports-complex-with-troubled-financial-past-is-for-sale.html
