  1. I’d assume they are. JoeMo has made the 4 hour radius a recruiting priority. So if there is reciprocal interest, I’d imagine the staff is plugging away.
  2. With Williams moving to WR and Hester added on scholarship, that now leaves 5 scholarship running backs. Most teams keep 5-6 running backs on scholarship. Good luck to Norrils, hope he lands somewhere.
  3. Still expecting some more Zips to hit the portal. If my math is correct, only 10 or 11 scholarships are being freed up by the players who walked at senior day and we currently have 14 freshmen coming in. If the expectation is to take 10-15 players from the portal, then another 10(ish) or so players (in addition to the current portal entries) will need to find new homes.
  4. Last Episode of the season. JoeMo talks about several points we’ve discussed on this forum numerous times. - Holt is coming back and was probably up to 80/85% by end of season. Excited to have an offseason with him. - Bubba is coming back. - Tim Terry came on strong the past 4 weeks. - The safety combo of Thompson, Martin, Woods developed well throughout the season. - The portal is hurting HS recruiting the most as it’s taking scholarships away that used to be allotted for HS seniors. - Would like to keep playing because the team has gotten better throughout the season. - Team is playing physical football now. - There has been pro interest for Shocky, Whigan, and Jones. - Golden will compete for time in the slot with Adams next year. - Spoke about all the missed opportunities and how the team will learn and grow from them.
  5. Not sure how this kid doesn’t already have multiple offers.
  6. Alas, another one I missed.
  7. Yep, he has several now. I updated his Rivals profile earlier today.
  8. Oh man, I’m not even trying to keep up with all the 2025 offers right now. Haven’t completed the 2024 ones yet. I’m updating their profiles as I see them though. Ward’s first D1 offer was from Kentucky.
  9. Yeah, at this rate it’ll take several years to rebuild that program even with the portal. Their prep signing class is falling apart and some of their best players are leaving. Finding adequate replacements won’t be easy despite the high amount of players in the portal. Talk about a tough gig. They took the stairs up and now catching the elevator down.
  10. Rough. Ship is sinking fast.
  11. Possibly, but I doubt it. Simply because Miller is class of 2023, while Burnside is class of 2024. Also, Burnside will field far more P5 offers than Miller by the time his recruitment is finished.
  12. Only San Diego State. Although, he may expecting more soon.
  13. JUCO DT Ugo Nosike was offered today.
  14. Well this one stings. Really underrated player that would have helped us. Looks like I should have been worried after all @LZIp.
  15. All good. Keep ‘em coming!
  16. Thanks, I’ll add him to the 2024 list. I’m afraid he’s a long shot. 247 missing a few offers, but I have his Rivals profile updated.
  17. Kent State has officially dropped out of Rivals top 100 in recruiting. We currently sit at #83.
  18. Another Kent State decommit DE Maverick Gracio. He was offered by Zips a while back, so again not sure where we stand. He also carries offers from Pitt and Illinois.
  19. Kent State decommit CB Cruce Brookins added to the list. Although I’m not sure where we stand as he collected offers from Pitt and Syracuse last week.
  20. Rivals has 4 people trying to update today and still can’t keep up. I imagine 247 is having a similar issue.
  21. I’m anxious to see how it all shakes out. Holt, Thomas, and Murphy give us a really nice starting point at DT. Same with Johnson at DE. Do guys like Robinson, Wilson, Fann, and Lawson continue to develop and live up to their potential? Or will we see a few of them hit the portal too? Regardless, just looking at the offers we already know about, we should be more explosive along the DL next year. Im sure we’ll land our fair share of playmakers.
  22. Good luck to him. Not surprising though as he was beat out by both Landers and Chambers at LT.
  23. I’d say pass defense deficiencies were mostly at the CB spot and lack of consistent pass rush. Safety play was by no means perfect, but they become a strength of the defense. The staff hasn’t made it a secret about the biggest needs on defense with the amount of scholarships that have gone out to defensive backs. I agree it’s always good to look for upgrades on staff, but for the most part, positional coaches at Akron will likely be young(ish) up and coming guys under Moorhead. I think we have a strong staff in place that needs a chance to show their ability with upgraded talent. We saw the development take place over the course of the season, now we need more talented depth.
