  1. Former 4 star player from Penn State that didn’t play much. Clearly talented so hopefully he can help
  2. This was a fun changing timeline video but the site wouldn’t let me post it because the file was too big. So here’s a screenshot of the final count in 2024
  3. I get the point but this is quite an exaggeration. So you’re saying a 3 star recruit should turn down a full D1 scholarship and head to D3/D2 or NAIA? That makes no sense. They have to have some confidence in their abilities and coaches to succeed at the D1 level. I’m sure there are plenty of players at the lower levels that have success but still never get that shot st D1
  4. Anyone know when spring practice starts? Ends?
  5. This conversation would be great coming from an AD….but we don’t have one
  6. Like clockwork - the talk of Morehead to Ohio State talks again https://bvmsports.com/2025/02/03/top-5-ohio-state-offensive-coordinator-candidates-for-2025/
  7. Not a very long list but congrats to those that did make it

  8. I think the kangaroo is so unique as a logo that it should be shown somewhere, somehow
  9. WTF? Still no AD hired? What the hell is going on?
  10. Golden Nelson to West Virginia. So just off the top of my head we’ve lost players several P5 programs: West Virginia, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Ole Miss . This begs the question did this team underperform based on the talent that was on the field? Is this a bad look for Joe?
  11. Simmons to Ole Miss. https://www.on3.com/college/ole-miss-rebels/news/akron-michigan-state-transfer-rb-jordon-simmons-sign-with-ole-miss-out-of-transfer-portal/
  12. So we’ve got about a week until classes start. Does anyone have an updated head count on how many are gone vs how many will be showing up for classes this semester? How many will be on the roster and/or dressed for spring practice?
  13. Ok, I hate to be negative but let’s look at this (and most of these signings) realistically. This kid redshirted his freshman year and appeared in one game with no stats this year. He’s from Colorado, signed at Washington State and now transfers to Akron. I feel pretty confident that he is not coming to Akron because he has a lot of other options. Hope he pans out and becomes a great player but so many (not all!) kids are in the portal for a reason.
  14. Who knows, but I wouldn’t get too overly excited. Was juco then appeared in two games and recorded no stats. At this point we’ll take what we can get
  15. I believe after 3(?) overtime’s they put the ball at the 3 and they just trade turns going for 2 pt conversions, so the score changes by 2 pts each successful try.
  16. Thought he may end up somewhere better than that - definitely better weather, but not sure what else makes that move worth it?
  17. I know. BG is a more successful program historically but how it this going to be much different of an experience vs playing at Akron? Maybe he thought he would get better offers and had to settle here?
  18. Don’t know but I know there are a limited amount of games that open on Thursday so I assume there is some type of decent TV coverage. My guess would be espn2 or espnU at best.
  19. Saw something saying that the opening game in 2025 is home against Wyoming on Thursday night, August 28. Must have moved it from Saturday the 30th?
  20. That’s not a good scenario if you’re Ben Finley. Shor has been very shaky and Mann hasn’t seen a snap (I don’t think) in two years - I assume there’s a reason for that.
  21. I don’t care if you criticize him or not, I’m just saying that he might have some valid reasons for leaving. Maybe he wants to test his skills at a higher level. Maybe he wants to experience playing in front of 80,000 people every week - not 3,000. Maybe he wants to play for a great fan base that supports their players. Maybe he wants to play for a program with more resources than Akron - better staff, a training table, more coaches, more trainers, better facilities, more gear etc etc. And like you said, maybe he’s getting paid. Time will tell if it’s a bad decision
  22. That’s kinda shitty. Hate to see him go but wish him all the best. He’s just trying to better his situation.
  23. First off, full disclosure, I really couldn’t care less about soccer. Why in the world is the soccer “Heisman” voted on by fans that can click on a website once a day? It sounds more like a high school player of the week way of voting on an award. Seems pretty bush league to me.
