  1. Akron back into the coaches top 25 poll at #19 this week. Next week's opponent Cornell is essentially #27 as they're 2nd in the receiving votes section. https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
  2. Akron at #16 in the College Soccer News poll, down from #12 last week despite the 2-0 week. Also, right behind Saint Louis who we beat 3-0. 🤦‍♂️ https://collegesoccernews.com/college-soccer-news-mens-soccer-week-6-top-25-coaches-poll-high-point-and-west-virginia-burst-into-the-top-10/
  3. Akron at #20 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, up from #23 last week. I expected to be higher considering the win over Saint Louis. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-national-rankings/men
  4. Pretty lackluster after the first 10 minutes or so. Gotta find one in the 2nd half. Can't start conference play with 2 matches without a win!
  5. This field makes for an absolutely horrendous viewing experience. But the Zips are on the front foot early!
  6. Bumping up my own reply since no one answered. 😂 I don't see any info about a Quarterfinal anywhere. It appears that only 4 make the tournament this year?
  7. I didn't see the broadcast because I was at the match but they definitely appeared to have more equipment than normal, or at least it was more noticeable. They had cords running from outside the stadium to behind the nets for field mics, as well as a fixed camera and camera man on field at midfield. And a camera in a lift outside of the stadium, behind the hill. But all of that doesn't necessarily translate to a better broadcast than usual.
  8. This is the package I have but I altered it a little, which the ticket office was very helpful with. I switched football to GA and soccer to reserved. It only ended up being like $15 more with those changes.
  9. High Point 2, WVU 2 Bryant 4, UConn 1 Evansville 2, Butler 1 Princeton 3, Seton Hall 1 Penn 3, Villanova 0 Providence 1, Brown 1 Xavier 2, NKU 1 Georgetown 5, George Mason 2 Marquette 3, Milwaukee 2
  10. Great match tonight from the Zips! When we dominate a top-10 team like that, I wonder if the other team is overrated or were underrated. I think we're underrated, obviously. Also, great to see former Zip and current Crew goalkeeper, Evan Bush in attendance. Along with fellow Crew goalkeeper and USMNT goalkeeper, Patrick Schulte.
  11. Akron is not ranked (or receiving votes) in this week's coaches poll. Meanwhile, tonight's opponent (Saint Louis) is ranked #8. https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
  12. I think we're still pretty early in the season and the polls will have a lot of volatility. But I do agree that it doesn't make a lot of sense. 😂
  13. Not sure which thread to put this in, but does anyone know if the Big East tournament is 4 teams or 8 teams this year? It looks to me like it's only 4 teams, but it's been 8 in past years.
  14. Zips are #12 in the College Soccer News poll this week. While Saint Louis is #10. https://collegesoccernews.com/college-soccer-news-mens-soccer-week-5-top-25-coaches-poll-michigan-makes-a-big-jump-into-the-top-10-and-portland-continues-to-rise/
  15. Zips come in at #23 in this week's Top Drawer poll. Saint Louis is at #21. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-national-rankings/men
  16. Up to 10 now. Honestly, it's too big a spread for me to feel comfortable now, so I guess I missed my chance. 😂
  17. Any time I don't use my ticket for a game, I email Matt and tell him which game I want to swap it for, and then I have 2 tickets to the desired game. You can do it after the game has happened too, so you don't need to pre-plan it. If you miss a game, just tell him which future game you want to use it for.
  18. Always important to win the first conference match, especially at home.
  19. I've been confused by the whole soccer situation in Cleveland. Because there's also a proposed soccer stadium across the freeway from Progressive Field. That would be for professional women's soccer and men's MLS Next Pro. Apparently this proposal is for USL men's soccer. But it would involve demolishing the arena and building a soccer stadium, I believe.
  20. No, they play at the Public Auditorium now.
  21. Dang, would've loved to see St Louis win both matches this week before they come into Akron next week.
  22. Zips come in at #10 in this week's coaches poll. Friday's opponent (UConn) is essentially #27 as they are second highest in the receiving votes section. Also worth noting that next Tuesday's opponent (St Louis) moved up from #24 to #7. https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
  23. I've always thought their poll was a little volatile, but I'm also not sure of its methodology. Is it just one person ranking the teams on behalf of the site, or do they have a committee or something?
  24. Akron stays at #8 in the College Soccer News poll, while Vermont moves up to #4. This week's opponent, UConn, is in the receiving votes section. https://collegesoccernews.com/college-soccer-news-mens-soccer-week-4-top-25-coaches-poll-nc-state-takes-1-spot-and-furman-jumps-into-top-10/
  25. Akron actually moved up a spot in this week's Top Drawer poll despite the loss. Up to #13. Vermont actually dropped from #10 to #11 but they did draw with Dartmouth on Tuesday which explains why. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-national-rankings/men
