For as much as Bobby Bowden keeps the mentioning the Zips, I think he deserves his own separate thread. Follow Bobby Bowden on Facebook or Twitter. It is incredible how often he is mentioning the Zips. Football, basketball or a general comment like this. This is pretty cool to have someone of his stature to be passing the word on the Zips.

After three games, the Zips are the only undefeated MAC team. Ball State lost at home to Eastern and Central lost at NIU. Didn't expect either of those, but it makes me feel better about having to go to Ball State and CMU. The whole league is either 2-1 or 1-2 except for the Zips and Toledo (0-3). Nice place to be sitting but the trip to Buffalo is going to be a tough one.

Here is a really nice RPI look at the teams in the Bracketbuster. It is even divided into home and away teams. Found someone referencing it on the OU board. It hasn't been updated for todays games so the Zips will likely rise a little, but right now the Zips have around a 72 RPI. The home teams in that range that we would be likely to play right now include 48 Iona 53 Oral Roberts 54 Missouri St. 60 Davidson 66 New Mexico St. 69 South Dakota St. 85 North Dakota St. 88 Wisconsin-Milwaukee I'd actually be happy with any of these. OU, Can't, Cleveland St. and VCU are also in the RPI range but we won't get them since we played them this year. Butler's RPI right now is 112 but it would still be cool to draw them.

Glad we got the win but that was a sloppy, sloppy ending. Zeke had a nice game but sullied it a little with the silly technical at the end. MAC East is going to be a bitch. At least everybody has to play everybody else. 3-0 is a nice place to be right now.

Even if it had gone in, I think the replay would have shown it was too late. A half second isn't enough time to catch, cock and shoot a shot of that distance. With the bit of bouncing like it did, there likely wouldn't have been any time for a follow on opportunity even if we had gotten the offensive rebound on a miss.

Zips are also the only team in the MAC that started out with two road games so its even more impressive.

It's nice to have optimism around the football team again.

It doesn't seem that long ago that Toledo was the #1 seed and knocked us out in the semis. In reality that was six years ago, the last time we didn't make the final.
