Nicely is a true sophomore. Give him some time. With that being said, I don't see any bad happening from giving Rogers some more time. At least he can make something happen with his legs.

If the SEC isn't the best conference, which is? I would lean to the Big 12...you probably disagree. The Big 10 lost 2of3 against the PAC10 yesterday and was an extra point miss away from possibly losing 3of3. The Big 10 and the darling of the Big 10 and Kirk Herbstreit, tOSU, will be exposed for being frauds by the end of the season. I wouldn't put them at the top. I'm not a big 10 fan, but I would like to see an SEC school play tOSU in the shoe in the winter time. those guys never have to play in cold snowy weather and because of that have an advantage over schools who have to have game plans that involve cold non speed conducive weather. I would like the medium ten to stop scheduling so many MAC schools and Marshall. A middle of the pack SEC school like Tennessee (similiar budget) would dominate the medium ten. If only the Browns could play Tressel's schedules, they would dominate. Texas, USC, and Miami Fl. agree with you. That is who OSU has had on the schedule the last 5 years and they have won their share of them too. On the other hand Florida playing all of the little sisters of the poor also agrees with you. Some of the ignorance on this board is utterly amazing to me. You guys attack a team you hate, but ignore the fact that other teams you compare them to do the same things and even worse, but you don't mention that. Some of you guys really let your hatred cloud your ability to make a rational post. Yes, many of the B10 teams play MAC teams. That is a regional thing. Just as the SEC, PAC10 and all the rest play out of conference games against weaker opponents. Look for yourself at the SEC teams pre-conference schedules. The B10 has 6 teams in the top 20 right now. I hardly call that Medium10... It is true though that the SEC doesn't come north to play games? Tennessee would domimate the B10..ROFLMAO. More ignorance and not having a clue about college football. Funny how Minny, Wisci, Iowa all went out west this week to face top 20 teams. When was the last time Florida, LSU, Alabama did that? When was the last time any of them came north? I do agree though that if the Browns played a college schedule they would dominate. That takes an intelligent being to state the obvious. I won't even visit this thread anymore as I know the morons will come in full force now. Others start the crap, I respond and then the idiots all attack me. To this day, I have still never, ever started an OSU thread. Yet, I have ignored many. I apologize if some of you are too intolerant to accept someone that has 2-Alma-Mater. I would defend UA on the OSU boards if I had to, but posters there aren't as ignorant as some here. They usually say good things about UA and want other Ohio teams to succeed. Same old, same old.

First off, I never said a word about the B10 or Ohio State. So you can get off of your inferiority complex because you weren't good enough to get a scholly there. As for Herbie. I LOL at how clueless you are. Most OSU people can't stand him because he goes so far out of his way to not be an OSU homer that it is ridiculous. Keep thinking you have a clue though. People like me that follow more than just UA know how clueless you are. Secondly, I agree that the SEC is the best conference right now. No doubt about it. All that means is that the SEC has many good teams. People like you act as if just because you are in the SEC, you are better than everyone else. That is wrong. An "SEC" defense means nothing. An Alabama, Florida, LSU, AUburn defense means something. Kentucky is nothing special. You really need to get over yourself and stop looking to pick fights.

And the SEC mystique continues.

I can also see it down here in Georgia on Fox South.

Kentucky 49-0. It's 42-0 after the 3rd quarter and then KU puts in their 4th string for the 4th quarter and they score another TD and are on the verge of another but have mercy and take 4 straight knees at the Zips 1 yardline with

Not to brag, but I told you so! Here is the Fork Union Military Academy football roster. No Erik Howard. This is not a surprise to me, he never was interested in academics. Kid is a waste of talent.
-
Fixed it for you. Good fix. Thank you sir. I'm here for you.
-
Pass on Paul Winters. There is a reason he is still DII and not even DIAA
-
Fixed it for you.

Well said Cap'n. Not sure I agree about the talent though. I think we have some talent. I just think it's so horribly coached that it doesn't shine.
-
Won't happen. When Fickell becomes a HC it will be at a bigger program than UA
-
Attendance was 10,086 of which half were present. Next home game we will get 3,000. These are the lowest of days to be a Zip. Sad. We were better when we had bad facilities and a crap stadium. As the facilities get better the team gets worse. Pathetic.

Does anyone know what's going on with Jalil Carter?
Buckzip replied to K92's topic in Akron Zips Football
Poor coaching. You take a guy that was all conference at safety and put him at WR. Then your safeties suck and he rarely plays at WR. Moron move by the coach. If you are going to move a good player to a new position, PLAY HIM!!!!! -
Why did we have to go for a position coach again? Why couldn't we get a winning, experienced coach from DIAA? Why oh why?
-
Bottom line. This team sucks.
-
I can see Bryan Hipsher being a coach here.

Texanmark, Nice post. The thing I disagree with is where you say this is a value for DIA football. You are right that it is a value for DIA football. The problem is that UA isn't playing like they are DIA. Watch other teams, not just top 25 teams, and you can tell the difference. The stadium may be nice, but I am not going to watch a crappy team at a nice stadium and pay the high price for it. It's like paying a lot of money to go to a fancy restaurant and the food sucks. I don't care how nice the place is, if the food is bad I'm not going back. UA is not entertaining. The team looks like crap, and the supposed great recruiter isn't doing anything so far to change that. Our recruiting ,so far, is very mediocre under him. I am extremely underwhelmed at the verbals we have so far. Great facilities, great stadium, a great recruiter, and we are in the middle of the MAC in recruiting? Absurd.

Now let's go eat a f-ing snack. Best thing I read all day.

I think this is the biggest issue moving forward. I am shocked at the lack of a "buzz" (including marketing!) throughout the week for a game against a Big East team. This game would have EASILY been higher at the Rubber Bowl. The only conclusion that I can draw is the price of admission is too high for the product that is being placed on the field. I am not ready to jump off the Y Bridge after one game, but the lack of fans at the game is troublesome. I didn't renew after last season, and looking at the attendance numbers, I wasn't alone. Too many people worry about the crowd. With as bad as this team has been, how can you expect fans to show? Win some games, and they'll be there. Obama couldn't convince 25k to come watch this mess. Yes he could. He convinced a lot of people to buy into hype.
-
You're implying someones defesne was good enough to get s safety.
-
Couldn't agree more. We have great facilities, which should help us recruit. However, no recruit is going to want to go to a team that sucks year after year. I don't care how great your facilities are. I know this was only 1 game, but it wasn't even competitive. Syracuse is a bad team. I know we will get the people on here saying they will be good, bla, bla, bla. But bottom line is we just got crushed by a bad team...again.
-
Way to use the back as an excuse for doing the same as always.
-
Homayed is not listed on the roster. Neither is Petrides. Damn, Henderson and Homayed were a good d-line catch last year and neither are here.
-
It's funny you mention this as I was wondering myself. Steiner is listed at 205 lbs. Isn't he going to get absolutely obliterated along the O-line? If I were an opposing coach, at the Zips' first punt or FG attempt, I'd put my biggest, nastiest DT right over Steiner and simply tell him to knock the snot out of him. you can't. that's why long snappers usually aren't the biggest fellas. Thanks for the info, I didn't know that was against the rules! Though I should have expected it - how the long snapper is looking back between his legs, I always thought that looked like a broken neck waiting to happen! Who can forget the infamous "roughing the snapper" call in a bowl game a couple years back? We had jokes about that call going for a long time. You aren't allowed to knock the center over when he is snapping the ball.
