Tressel Never Quit Recruiting Howard
Buckzip replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football
What an ass. I never root against a player, but I will root against this clown. -
Not really. Moderators are ordinary posters...but with the added burden...I mean benefit of trying to keep relative order and letting people have their say. Nothing more. You should not try to follow anyone's model. As human beings, we have free will. Exercise it. If we all thought alike there would be no discussion. Just a bunch of "+1's." + 1 +1

According to Rasor, Shaun Lemon will transfer
Buckzip replied to ZachTheZip's topic in Akron Zips Football
At least it's a senior that wasn't part of the long term. Instead of a highly touted freshman or sophomore. -
What a bizarre thread
-
Wow, Is that a Howard the Duck reference?
-
No. Going to Fork Union and then trying to get into another school.

uh oh, i hope you know Buckzip is the one bringing his entire family to the games decked out in OSU jerseys. He might grace your post with 3 smileys, watch out. Just for you guys. I realize some of you never went to college. I made it up for you by going to 2.

He should fit right in at tOSU then. He should get three days in the bank right now for when the inevitable DUI hits. It will save him the time of serving the three days once he gets there. Signed Chris Jaquemain.... The last time I checked, Chris Jacquemain never made the police blotter. OK, LOL Maybe I should have signed it with one of many other names that I could have used. Which Zip has made the police blotter in the last five years? Every year, a Buckeye graces the pages of newspapers around the country with his off the field exploits involving drinking and a car. It's really OK to admit you are OK with the off the field exploits as long as they win. I would feel that way if I like tOSU, why can't everyone else just admit it? I am not going to start calling out Zip players. Sorry. You certainly have me at a disadvantage. I could sit here and name many Akron players that have had their issues. i could also name many OSU players as well. The thing is I don't do that for my alma maters. Since you are only a fan of one school, you will do this. Ok then. Don't call them out by name. In the past five years, how many were in the police blotter? If you don't know, that's OK. If there weren't any, just say so. Not sure what you mean by "police blotter", but I can think 0f 4 off the top of my head in trouble with the law. There are others we probably didn't hear about. When a player from a big time football school gets in trouble, it is on ESPN and the world knows it. When a player from a smaller football school gets in trouble, unless it is a major crime, you do't hear about it. Hell, outside of Akron most didn't even know about CJ11. If this was a major program that had their starting QB kicked off the team for this type of thing, ESPN would start off their show for a month discussing it. How is this even an argument? OSWho is the kind of school that gives scum like Maurice Clarett a free ride as well tons of free stuff and gets away with it. Also, Ohio State has plenty more players each year that gets in trouble with the law. Btw, how can you be fans of both schools? I dont give a crap if you went there, pick one. Ohio State stands for everything that is wrong with college sports and the dominance by the money makers. I wouldn't be caught dead in red and gray and i definitely wouldnt root for a school that takes away our recruits.

you know what, now that LeFevour is no longer a MAC rival, I wish him the best of luck. How lucky to be able to play for the team you grew up watching. I expect him to compete for Cutler's starting position within a couple years, especially if Cutler has a year like he did last year. I don't understand why guys are making fun of him here. We should want conference members to make it to the NFL. It brings cred to the MAC. We need all the cred we can get the MAC. So do you root for #7 from Pittsburgh? 2x Rapist, 1x motorcycle stunt man, all-time douchebag no, but I don't dislike him because he is from the MAC. I dislike him because of his character. I dislike him too. I also know my Steelers need him to win. I'll take winning over losing...it makes the fall go faster. There is a writer for the Post-Gazette in Pittsburgh that wroted a good article this week about the long term disaster that would be getting rid of Ben. His name is Ron Cooke and he wrote the article on Friday (I think). What day did you readed it?

If so, you are beyond even reasoning with.

You got that right ...

He's going to Fork Union hoping to get into OSU. I don't like the kid as a Zip fan or Buckeye fan. He played Akron. He never wanted to be here and was being dishonest and now breaks his word. That shows me character issues. If he didn't want to be here, then he shouldn't have signed an LOI.

Article on the Scout Ohio State site stating Erick Howard will not be playing at Akron. Didn't read the article, just the headline. Talks about an epiphany. Many of us had it about this clown a long time ago. Surprise, surprise.

Agree. If you are a difference maker in college basketball, you play more and score more even as a freshman. It's not like this kid is transfering from an SEC school or something. He is transfering from a school that I had even forgotten had college basketball. Whe we talk about the transfer route, this isn't what I had in mind. Exactly my thinking. I don't mean to pick on the guy. But some people are all excited about this guy and he came from a lower level team and only averaged 3 points. Not impressive. It seems like every recruit we get people are all excited about and think they are great gets. Very few ever pan out here. Sweich was a big deal when he signed, so was Sullivan, Steward, McClanahan, etc. None has done anything yet. In all fairness, if Steward is healthy at the start of the '08-'09 season then he is still our starting point guard now. Ronnie Steward had about the worst luck anyone can have the last few years. Possibly, but there is no way of knowing. Sometimes I feel guys regress here. LOL. Humpty was good as a freshman and worse as a soph.

Really excited about a guy that averaged 3 ppg.

icoach...LOL

Any word on Dale Martin? Is he playing or is he hurt again?
-
I saw Beanie run and wasn't impressed, either. Tyrell Sutton seemed to be the far better prospect. No idea where Devoe is going. I bet his first choice is to find one of the BCS schools that were interested in him a few years ago. As for highly-rated recruits that actually panned out, wasn't Jason Taylor considered a top recruit when he came into the program? If he goes BCS, it will be as an LB. He won't be playing RB at a big time school.

How Much Would a Healthy AA Help in 2010?
Buckzip replied to johnnyzip84's topic in Akron Zips Football
So would I. He looks good when healthy.
