Great to hear. That being said, it's probably time to simply let the higher ranked team just host the championship game. It's really awful watching a game with so many damn empty seats.

I think some people are underestimating how pathetic it will look if our university kills its own name. Seriously. If the idea is to enhance the school's image this will indeed have the opposite effect. I can just picture it now, with the media running pictures of tombstones that say "U OF AKRON.....DIED 2015" and the like.

I think you're being a little unfair here. I know a lot of successful graphic design majors and art majors. In fact, I'd bet those degrees are a heck of a lot more valuable than Political Science, Criminal Justice and many others.

The costs of changing the name, as well as promoting a new one will be ridiculous. The whole idea is ridiculous, and it's such a bad idea I'm wondering if it's actually a clever ploy to do something unprecedented; uniting the alumni base. If so, slow clap in your honor, Pres. Scarborough....you carpetbagging evil genius.

Was fun gathering 'round the ole laptop with my dad to watch this game from California. Michael Reghi was amped up for this game. The JAR always looks photogenic....which always kinda astonishes me. My only complaint is that you could tell the place was loud, but for whatever reason the espn mic's just didn't seem capable of truly capturing that live atmosphere. They need to upgrade their audio for surel. Anyhow, nice win Zippers!!!!! p.s. I'm so bumming I'm gonna miss Cleveland this year.

Agree. The "whole roo" logo has been unjustly ignored a bit lately.
