  1. Okay....so is Porters Army the official selection? Anyhow, I think it would be a real good idea to start courting Thirsty Dog Brewing. They have a very excellent tap house/bar area with outdoor patios. Right now they're open to the public just one day a week, I believe. They may be persuaded to open up on game days. And plus, that's where they make ROO BREW. Check it: http://clevelandhops.com/wp-content/galler...dog-bararea.jpg
  2. Perhaps you want something more "dangerous" sounding...like "Death Squadron" or "Saw 7" or "Exchange St. Executioners." Coming to theatres near you: Disney ROOligans (in 3-D). Starring the voices of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. Fun for the whole family!
  3. But it's not HOOligan...it's ROOligan Anyhow, I think the vote for the ROOligan option is being diluted by the three choices.
  4. Great article!!! Sorry that JT is unlikely to get the ring. Same goes for LaDainian Tomlinson, two class acts that may never get another chance. Anyhow, it was nice to read that Taylor is a "sure fire" Hall of Famer. I'm glad that I got to know him as a classmate, and it's been so cool watching him rep Akron over the years.
  5. I think our celebration should have been planned to be a little bit more elaborate. For one thing, it should have been an all night affair, and have included a fundraising component. God knows I would have gladly supported a cash bar!
  6. ROOligans Exchange Street Elite Compromise might be in order? Exchange Street Elite looks good in writing, but it's a bit of a verbal tongue twister.
  7. Of the above I like ROOligans...it might be wise to swipe up rooligans.com asap!!! p.s. I like the AK-Oldies, but you can imagine not too many of our female alumni would want to wear something that said "old" on it.
  8. This isn't as big as you might think. InfoCision (I'm sure) put up more for naming rights to your football stadium and the Stiles family probably put up $5 million to name the fieldhouse. The most interesting fact is that $8 million is the largest gift ever to BGSU. That's not much in the broad scheme of things. Yeah i'm not too worried. The new "Stroh Center" doesn't even impress me, and i'm sure it wont impress recruits either. UA needs to stop playing around with this rinky dink MAC schools and go bigtime. Let's woo a big donor ourselves and get a real arena built on campus or lets really renovate the JAR into something special so we can begin our domination. Or we could build downtown..... But seriously, I have virtually no desire to hit up the JAR. I'll probably just wait around for the MAC Tourny at Quicken Loans Arena. At least there the games actually count for something.

  10. Akron Zips celebration at the JAR featured on FOX 8 CLEVELAND Well done!!!
  11. I envision special group seating. With wait service, terraced seating and picnic areas just like at Jacobs Field....I mean Progressive Field.
  12. I don't know...would we have to shotgun the snap 6 yards back on a 4th and goal running play at the one yard line? Watching Oregon struggle in short yardage, just cost them a touchdown. Seriously. I don't care what "your" offense is. If you can't line up and go straight ahead for 1 yard when you need it, you are in trouble.
  13. A better looking building in the north endzone. To say it's aesthetically challenged is being polite.
  14. In case anyone else refuses to pay for cable: http://atdhe.net/23453/watch-godaddy-bowl-...see-vs-miami-oh
  15. Miami has 3 and 1, so of course they have their QB 7 yards deep in the shotgun. Fumble. So stupid....
  16. This party that the soccer team deserves is just not shaping up.
  17. Something about "wifi" plus "credit cards" has me wondering what kind of supergenius is out there, just waiting to steal all that info! Perhaps the Athletic Dept. could invest in one of those hand-held credit card machines like all the airlines have to charge you for their boxed lunches. That is an easy solution because of the campus's WiFi network. They could take credit card for all events and concessions with little investment.
  18. Great news! I have to laugh at the Hookah bar though....lol Akron finally enters the 90's!!!
  19. Ha ha Browns. Good thing I'm a Chargers Fan. Oh wait....
  20. I can't help but think that perhaps they could have situated the field closer to the student center. Then the issue of bathrooms/team shops/food service would have all been served by pre-existing, already paid for facilities. Plus, can you imagine how cool the balcony restaurant seating would've been on game day!
  21. Post some pics!!!!
  22. Hillarious Tattoo work!!!! That being said....can we please lose the fixation we have for Ohio State on here? You don't have to attack other schools to empower your own. And am I the only person here who IS glad that we're not THE big sports school in Ohio?
  23. This former Zips QB was a bit before my time, but didn't know if this was posted before: http://www.49ers.com/team/coaches/mike-joh...48-ec77cd76a3db http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/content/view/43306/
  24. Programs that we do not have a winning record against in the all-time series that would make great match-ups: Cal State-Fullerton (0-1-0), UCSB (0-1-0), UConn (0-0-2), Duke (0-3-0), Evansville (8-9-1), Fresno State (2-2-1), Geoergetown (0-0-1), Indiana (5-23-2, ouch!), Louisville (0-2-1), Maryland (1-1-0), NC State (0-1-0), New Mexico (1-1-0), Northwestern (1-1-0), Portland (0-1-1), Rutgers (1-1-0), UCLA (0-2-0), Washington (1-1-0), Wisconsin-Milwaukee (8-9-0), and Wisconsin (1-2-0) Sparkling records against big name schools or soccer programs: Cincinnati, Dayton, Kentucky, Marquette, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oakland, OSWho, Pitt, and West Virginia I would love to see Coach Porter starting to schedule OOC games with the intention of taking the lead in some of these series. Even to the extent of labeling them on the schedule as "All-Time Matchup Game" or similar. Would be exciting for the fan base because many are name brand schools with good soccer programs. So, they would also fulfill the purpose of preparing the team for the NCAA Tournament too. Traveling into town this weekend to see us chalk up another win against Cincinnati. Great great idea!! And you know the remarkable thing is....after 3-4 years of creative scheduling, we could have winning records vs. every school in NCAA existence except for Indiana.
