  1. Thanks, I can see you appreciate my honesty. To someone who is just abandoning her team for no good reason after two years, I wish the bitch nothing but the worst.
  2. I was just checking out our preview from last year on SI.com and looking our two deep going into last year we are really returning an extraordinary amount of players from last year's MAC Championship squad. Mix in all the talented freshman who were redshirted last year and folks I'm realizing more than ever we should have one hell of a team next season. Anything less than another MAC Championship has got to be considered a disappointment.Last year's preseason two deep:WR 81 Jason Montgomery Sr.- gone21 Johnny Long So.- back WR 23 Domenik Hixon Sr.-gone 85 Brandon Williams Fr. -back LT 72 Tim Crouch Jr.-back68 Mike Schepp So.-back LG 75 Mike Donaldson Jr. -back73 Scott Kaplan So.-transferredC 63 Andy Wills Jr.-back64 Jim Holley So.-backRG 57 Andy Alleman Jr.-back70 Garrett Brewster Fr. -backRT 76 Justin Hein Sr. -gone, but never started68 Mike Schepp So.-back TE 84 Kris Kasparek So.-back 41 Dennis Basch Jr.-gone before last year, replaced by a better freshmanQB 12 Jabari Arthur So.-add him to the WR core 16 Luke Getsy Jr. -BACKFB 22 Richard Spaulding Sr. -hardly played, gone33 Joe McDaniel Fr. -backRB 34 Brett Biggs Sr. -gone40 Jerell Ringer Sr.-gone, but never played....KENNEDY-BACK Depth Chart: Defense 7 returning starters in red Ps. 3. What a sorry ass bitch. Go ahead and resign a post as a head coach at an up and coming athletic program that just built you one of the nicest stadiums in the country for an assistant job. Good riddance.
  4. I knew Hight was never in college, but then Rasor was on here saying that he was in school as a Prop working hard to qualify. I even questioned him on this saying I thought he was confusing Hight with Terry but he insisted it was Hight. Terry, Garner, and Marshall were all at least at Akron for a little while, and all were in camp last fall. You'd think the Zips academic support personel could've done a little more to help these kids make the grades.
  5. Actually, it is always about good QB play regardless of the league or level. I disagree.Sincerely, Mark RypienDoug WilliamsTrent DilferI've always bought into the "Defense Wins Championships" line of thinking. I think all of us have witnessed the dramatic change in Akron's fortunes attributed primarily to making the opponent use their punter a few times during a game. Agreed. How quickly we all forget that Lee Owens had a few top 10 nationally ranked offenses in his days, but our defense always stunk.
  6. Cap...you hear anything on the eligibility of Robinson? People I've spoken with have some doubts about whether he'll be with the team in the fall. You know anything definative about that?
  7. I honestly don't think we're that stacked at QB. None of the guys we presently have behind Getsy are sure thing great QBs. Chris Jacquemain played WR for most of his high school career and from what I hear can be a bit of a head case. Carlton Jackson, who we all thought was so athletic, ran a 4.85 fourty this spring. That barely edges out offensive lineman Andy Alleman who ran a 4.9. Sean Hakes looks like he has the stuff, but who knows. All I'm saying is that the more competition at the position, the better, because the more guys we have competing, the better chance we have of finding our next great QB. Whoever loses out can transfer. I'm thrilled we're getting another cannon for next spring's competition.
  8. No, beating Ohio State would. But Penn State would come awfully close. Well since we've never beaten Ohio State at that point beating Penn State would. But you're right, when we beat the Suckeyes in '07 it's going to blow the Penn State win away.
  9. If we were to knock off Penn State, who will probably enter the season in the top 10, it would be the biggest moment in the history of the university in my opinion. And I don't just mean athletically, I mean biggest moment period.
  10. Biggs had a good minicamp with the Redskins, will have to wait on a call to see if he makes it to training camp. Don't know what Rohr is doing.
  11. Going to CUSA would not be a good thing for Akron at all. First of all, no matter how many bowl bids the conferences get, the MAC is a better conference football wise. Secondly, the travel costs would increase tenfold. Thirdly, we would lose all of our regional rivalries in Ohio. If it's not to a BCS conference, the MAC is the best place for Akron and always will be.
  12. No pass rush allowed? What did the D-line do on pass plays? Just stand there?? Yes...that does remind me quite a bit of our pass rush under Lee Owens .
  13. yeah...and our dicks are bigger
  14. It's really too bad that you're so good in all the irrelevant sports and we're :macc: in the one sport that really matters. Because of that, the public at large views Akron as the powerhouse and just laughs at Can't, because
  15. In order to make a comment like that you have to be a squeeler fan. Probably the kind that lives in northeast ohio and has no ties to the confluence. I don't know how you can say that their offseason acquisitions were poor. Those were some of the best I have ever seen and certainly the best since 1999. As far as injuries - With the exception of the stupid K2 thing last year, injuries are just a matter of bad luck. Don't worry squeeler fan, things will turn around in Cleveland and you'll find yourself torn between rooting for Frye and that team that you have zero geographical ties to. That's an awful lot of assumptions about a guy for one post.
  16. Well who pissed in your wheaties this morning
  17. I have it on my computer if someone can tell me how to upload it onto the site.
  18. I actually think we're going to use a lot more one back sets in the fall. Throughout what I saw in the spring JD seemed a lot more comfortable making the extra blocker an extra tight end rather than putting another guy in the backfield. We'll see a lot of two wide out, two tightend single back sets this year. From what I've heard Kennedy runs much better out of the one back because he's got great field vision and is more free to make cuts. I guess that doesn't spell well for Tuzze outside of short yardage situations.
  19. Honestly man, I felt absolutely no hatred towards MTSU whatsoever and most of their fans I'd come into contact with were class acts until this butt pirate came on here shooting off at the mouth totally out of touch with reality.I probably shouldn't have been that hard on the Sun Belt but it's a young conference and this moron is trying to put it on par with the MAC. It's just not. Like I said before, I respect the program at North Texas a lot, and I respect what Troy has been able to do (though I believe a lot of their success came as an independent??), heck I even think Arkansas St is on the rise, but to come on another teams board that you aren't even playing anymore and spew the kind of crap this guy did is just asking for it.
  20. I'm glad he's okay. I'm even more glad is wife is okay .
  21. In The Zone, we know why you don't like Middle Tennessee. We went up there to Akron and ruined Charlie Frye's senior year in Game One. We ruined Akron's shot at a bowl game because Akron was the ONLY school in Division 1-A with a winning record that didn't go to a bowl game.In the Zone, I know you don't like Middle Tennessee because we are 7-2 all-time against Akron (4-0 against Akron in all games played at the Rubber Bowl). I know you don't like the Sun Belt because the SBC is 8-4 against MAC teams since 2000.I know you don't like the fact to know that as a Sun Belt team, Middle Tennessee is 3-0 against Vanderbilt which is a BC$ school and member of the $EC. I know you don't like the fact that Middle Tennessee was able to win at Vandy this past season despite the fact that they had an 11th-pick overall for the NFL draft at quarterback. The Sun Belt has recorded four wins that I know of right off the bat against BC$ teams. While were at it, how many BC$ teams have these programs beaten since 2001 (when the Sun Belt was founded)Can't State, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Ball StateThat's about half your league. Everyone knows that the real MAC teams are Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, and Northern Illinois. Ohio is improving, and Akron is borderline decent for a MAC school. The rest of the MAC couldn't win the Division III national title. Dude, you've had to come on here bragging about women's basketball. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL!! That should tell you something about what a sorry state your program is in. While I was humiliated for the Zips when they lost to a 1-AA school to open the '04 season, I understand why it happened and know we are way past that now. Why you feel the need to come on our board and start a bunch of crap with a team's fans that you don't even play anymore is beyond me. Little man complex I guess. You come on here bragging about a win over Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt . Being that Vanderbilt went about 5 years straight without winning a BCS game themselves, I don't really think they count as a BCS conference member. So other than that the Sun Belt has 1 win over a BCS school. How impressive. If your 1-AA school beat Vanderbilt then we would've beaten them by 40+.You call Akron borderline decent for a MAC school. We're the reigning conference champions you moron!! The top teams in the MAC, Akron, NIU, Toledo, Miami, WMU, and Bowling Green would dominate any team out of the Sun Belt at this point with maybe the exception of North Texas if they get their shit straight after last year and return to form. Even the bottom dwellers in the MAC, Can't, Buffalo, Ohio, CMU, EMU would all compete in the Sun Belt. Hell, the Sun Belt didn't have one player drafted this weekend. NOT ONE!!!! Most 1-AA conferences at least one guy go. That's pathetic indicator of the lack of talent in your conference.Your team will return to 1-AA in a few years where they belong and then hopefully you'll get over your inferiority complex. Until then stop flaming, leave our board (we don't even play you!!), and go contemplate the reality check you were just written.
  22. Scott Kaplan left the team before the end of the season last year as a sophomore. Most everyone on this board knew that. You came on here and stated when Spring practice had just started that a senior offensive lineman had quit the team, which would've been huge being that we only have four senior offensive lineman and they are all starters. You also stated it with absolutely nothing to back it up. Captain came on here quoting a Zips journalist and another team's fansite. There's a HUGE difference in what he just did and what you did and if you can't see that then you're just dense.
  23. Now having said all that, while I don't respect your conference, and I don't respect MTSU in the least (they are a 1-AA school and always will be), I can respect your program at North Texas. Before last year, you guys had been to 3 straight bowls and had back to back rushing champions. That's nothing to sneeze at. I look forward to our game next year.
  24. When was the last time a Sun Belt team beat a BCS school? Has it ever happened in the history of your conference. MAC teams regularly knock off BCS schools in fact the MAC has dominated a few of them. Last year was a weak year for the MAC but in past years we've had 3 even 4 teams in the top 25. The MAC is a conference with history, the Sun Belt is simply a collection of also rans put together with Independents and Big West refugees.
  25. I think he sounds like a good fit. I don't know what some of you are complaining about.
