  1. Again, disagree. The second best SEC team will be better than a big ten champion team 8 out of 10 years. Now, make every team play a real non-conference schedule and earn the right to the top 4, OK... Even if you are 3rd best in a confernce...(highly unlikely, I know) The Medium Ten beating up on the MAC will automatically disqualify them from the playoffs. What if......The Vest had to play real schedules.
  2. I completely disagree. If the selection committee takes approopriate steps to find the four best teams and strength of scheudule is a major determining factor, as it is supposed to be, then the regular season should be even more important. BSC title contending teams will have to change how they schedule non-conference games. The days of playing two MAC teams and and a 1-AA team should be over. In fact, even picking four non-conference games against easy BCS schools should be over. Teams will have schedule tougher against teams that there is at least a chance you might lose to. Now, in time, if SOS isn't really considered in picking the four best, then I do agree that interest in the regular season will fade...
  3. Enough with the Ken Carmen and Jeff Thomas are Akron grads nonsense. They are idiot buckeye honks. Both can go away and return their UA degrees.
  4. AKA Lake College for Erie Women
  5. The Tilted Kilt is now open next to the casion. I have just discovered the new home of the Zips for the MAC tournament in 13. At least, that is where I will be... What an awesome establishment!! Those bastards (owners) stole all of my ideas for how to run a bar.
  6. False. The Akron coach has a connection with a big-time celebrity. Now, when the recruits and dough roll into the University, then Akron basketball will have a connection with a big-time celebrity.
  7. +1 Best post ever by DIG. Short and sweet. Yet another example of DIG never taking a stance, yet always riding the fence...... You know, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose..yada, yada, yada.... LBJ is KD's buddy. Great for them... When LBJ's impact lands us a big-time player or a couple mil, please let me know... Until then, it's much about nothing...
  8. Great topic. Ditto for local coverage come MAC tournament time. All the local hacks can talk about when UA comes up is Dambrot and Lebron. Screw that! Let's talk Zips..not about Dambrot's buddy.
  9. I cringe! It's a complete lack of respect when folks know better...
  10. Perrfectly said! Lebron is Dambrot's friend. Period. Love those shoes...
  11. I'm in LZip's corner on this one...We do get free shoes however...
  12. Which means all the Zips football faithful will be in c-bus watching a spring game.
  13. Me too! FIVE frickin home games by October 20th. This is unbelievable...I love it.
  14. Boals to OU?
  15. Heck with the coaching situation. I read a great article in Pitt Post Gazette yesterday about this. Not only are most surprised at the AD firing the coach, the AD was unaware that he had 4 really good recruits coming in. I heard at least two are not going to Duquesne now. I think we need to see if any of those players have an interest in the Zips.
  16. Completely agree. There will be many, many, many UA alum falling over themselves for a chance to talk tosu football with The Vest. If they have to throw a few bucks UA's way, they will. Otherwise, they don't give a damn about UA...it was just a place to get a degree.
  17. Where is Big Zip at? I need you to settle this!!!
  18. I wasn't torn at all. Screw OU! UM let me down again. Did enjoy the Lehigh and Norfolk wins, though!
  19. It was sure money under Ianello. Well, kinda!
  20. Really? You wanted to watch it this week. I'll pass on sports for a while.
  21. As mentioned, no there are no easy answers. Unfortunately, money/donations will always dictate who gets the best seats. Personally, I want the best seats going to the folks who actually go to the most games. Then maybe we would get the few hardcore fans that we have sitting together. Would it have an impact and get folks to make noise/stand up? Who knows! Sit them behind the standing Rowdies and make them stand-up, now we might have something... My guess is that 50% or more of the Zips fans in attendance at the Q on Saturday was their first time to a game all year. They don't give a damn about the Zips. It was just something to do on a Saturday night.. And the atmosphere is almost as bad when we do make the NCAAA's. How many of the fans who got the best seats in Chicago last year went to 5 or fewer games? Or had GA tickets? Tons. They knew a donor who could get them the best tickets and so they went. It's all about the dough you donate...not who really gives a damn.
  22. Agree. March sadness is back. Same garbage every year. Multiple Big East teams, one big ten and even 1 pac- 12 did not deserve to go. Drexel did. ORU did. No matter how much success mid -majors have- VCU e.g., we will always be looking in. Then the NIT gives mostly the power 6 conferences the home games. CM Newton was clueless selecting the NCAA field years ago, now he's in charge of the NIT. When will these old farts just go away..
  23. Will be there as promised!
  24. Agree. It wasn't perfect, but pretty darn good. They had 5 or 6 appetizers for half price, several beer options and unlimited time before the games to party. And heck, the bar area and couch/fireplace area made it nice to mingle. And my kids liked the food.
  25. This couldn't get any worse. These wonderful "specials" start at 5 frickin pm. They might actually have time to serve 10 of them before the game. This blows!
