  3. MCL sprain. Out 2-4 weeks Whew....it's bad enough what happened to Hixon. I got to see the Giants play a preseason game last year...Chase is practically another coach out there. A fine leader who is a great example on and off the field. Giants team captain Blackburn "injured the MCL in his right knee in Week 1 and hopes to return this week. Blackburn missed three weeks the last time he hurt the MCL in his right knee, but this time the injury is more stable and rehab could be shorter."

It was the Redskins third straight touchdown on a 9-yard pass from quarterback Rex Grossman. Young holdover Brandon Anderson will get plenty of chances to prove he can handle the third cornerback position in the remaining three preseason games.
  7. Frye on Wednesday underwent surgery to repair damage to his right (throwing) wrist. Cable said once Frye rejoins the team, a decision will be made as to how long he will be out of action.

The Raiders would receive a third-round pick as compensation if another team signed Frye and they refused to match the offer.Mike Garafolo, of The Star-Ledger, reports the New York Giants have tendered restricted free-agent WR Domenik Hixon a second-round offer, according to a source. The offer is a one-year deal worth $1.684 million.
