You can spin attendance any way you want but 7,000 is embarassing. People watching the game at home will see the half empty stands and get the impression that going to a Akron game sucks because there is no atmosphere. Having the stadium look at least half full would have a much better effect on the national audience last night. I had class till 8pm and a test today otherwise I would have gone. The athletics department did a piss poor job of promoting this game. The Buchtelite showed an Ad on page 2, not page 1, in the sports section. If you want people to go see a MAC game, you have to promote the hell out of it, otherwise no one will even no it took place.

BG goes unless they lose and Miami loses and Akron wins next Thurs. Otherwise BG still goes if they lose and Miami wins since they hold the tiebreaker. Miami can not go to the championship game. Akron goes if BG and Miami loses and the Zips beat Can't.

I have talked to one of VP's on campus, who I know quite well since I'm in his son's wedding, and a stadium will be built on campus in the near future. When and where are not finalized yet.

That's why I enjoy BG and Toledo where the games are played for something in November. But in a few years maybe this rivalry will be at that level.

On the upside, Akron has the talent to improve drastically in 1-2 years. They should a top team in the MAC if not next season, but definitely in 2007.

Zips just lost a shot at the MAC East but still a .500 record would be a success for this team.

I don't even think any of those teams will be in the Championship game. It'll be a rematch between CMU and Akron. Highly unlikely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be Toledo vs. BG or Miami for the MAC title. Akron and CMU will lose one more game.

As long as Akron plays well they should have no problem in this game. Army is just so bad right now. If Akron makes mistakes then this game could get interesting but I still Akron pulling this one out. Prediction: Akron 38 Army 21
