One of my buddies, whose Dad is one of the VP's for Akron says Hixson will go first day. I told him he was nuts. Hixson may go day 2 at best, but definitely is a FA signing.

Don't hit the panic button yet. If Akron wins out at home and can beat either Miami or Nevada on the road, they should get a shot at an at-large bid for the tourney. 23-6 is awfully tough to leave at home.Of course, Akron would also need a strong showing in the mAC tourney to also garner attention.

I noticed only 2800 there for last game. That is pathetic. Toledo draws 3500 per game and they are up and down this season. Bandwagon fans are killing Akron's attendance this year.

Should be a great game in a decent environment. I'm rooting for the Zips but I think Can't may pull it off. It's awfully tough to win on the road against quality opponents, especially in your conference.

I think is is a fantastic draw. I couldn't ne happier! Nevada is a great team. We have 4 days rest/practice. It will be a marquee game with national TV.If we deserve to be in the NCAA tourney, we go out there and we win. 22 wins, one being against Nevada, and we're in the big dance. Let's first beat Buffalo and Can't this week. Agreed. If Akron can beat Nevada and go 8-1 or 7-2 in the MAC games, an at-large bid is in consideration. Still, I think the MAC will only get 1 team in there this year.I know Toledo played Nevada there for the Bracket Buster 2 yrs ago and it came down to the wire. I think Nevada made the tourney that year as well and I remember the ESPN announcers giving Toledo its fair share of compliments. I hope Akron gets the same treatment, only with a W in the end.

Why is rifling a sport?

I thought last night's game was one of the best MAC games I've seen in person in a few years.1. The "o-Zone" is one of the best student sections I have seen in a MAC venue in a long time. They just need to stop hurting their own team by pointing out individual refs and using profanity. One day it will bite them in the ass2. OU needs to work on its FT shooting.3. The AK-Rowdies did their part last night. As to the cops showing up in the 1st half, that was complete b*llsh*t.4. Akron won't have a legit center next season since Futch and Preston graduate5. Linhart played like a freshman last night. Still, he is a good player.6. Romeo is as advertised.7. Tough to win on the road against a quality opponent, but Akron hanged tough and I expect them to see postseason play.

I was actually impressed with the "O-Zone" last night. From my experience at hundreds of MAC games, that has to be one of the best student sections in the MAC.Also kudos to the AK-Rowdies for providing entertianment at the game last night. Though only a few were present, they surely pissed off lots of Bobcat fans.

Should be a great game. I look forward to the bus ride down and seeing the Convo Center, my 6th MAC venue for basketball.

Saw the game on ONN. My only observation is this: It will be interesting to see how UA fares against teams with taller guards. Both Dials and Joyce are either at 6-0 or under and I wonder how they would perform against a much taller backcourt.

Let me put it this way:I got my bachelors and masters from Toledo.I am working on my PhD at Akron.And from my perspective, Akron gets the edge academically. Of course this is only in regards to the history department.

Akron's success will only continue to build. If the athletic teams can recruit well each year, Akron will be one of the top schools in the conference for a long time.
