Since the NCAA changed the offseason practice rules a couple of years ago, the Zips have stopped having players participate in the summer leagues. Each player is allowed to have 2 hours per week of supervised workouts by the coaching staff and 6 hours of conditioning. They have practices 2 days per week and the team is divided into 3 groups that practice for 1 hour each. On other days they condition and hold open gyms.
The MAC dropped baseball as a requirement for membership a few years ago. A full conference member in the MAC only has to participate in Football, MBB, WBB and volleyball.
High school divisions are determined by enrollment figures. The OHSAA readjusted the levels this year and many of the lower enrollment D1 schools from last year are now in D2. All of the Federal league teams except McKinley are now D2.
