Coach Rembielak's suspension sure doesn't seem to have a negative effect. Since his return the team has been playing pretty inspired ball. The final game of the season whipping by Can't was meaningless. I would suspect that coach was holding back his pitching to set it up for the MAC tourney run.

I watched We Are Marshall the other night. One of the best scenes is when WVU coach Bobby Bowden let's the new coach at MU watch film of WVU running the veer. Two WVU players come into the room and they have helmets with a MU tribute sticker on them. The Bowden family has class.

Jim Tressel apparently withdrew candidacy for University of Akron president after he was offered presidency at Youngstown State .

They were just wishing for anybody but Tressel.

Unfortunately he never accepted my bet. All I will say about the new guy is be careful what you wish for.

I heard that there is a big party planned by the people who worked directly with him at UT. They are thrilled that he got this new position at UA.

Good luck to new UA President Scott Scarborough. I hope he is ready for the challenges ahead. If past experience means anything, I would expect a lot of cuts are coming to UA.

So let me get this right, it's OK for you to claim that everyone you know hates Tressel, but my claiming the opposite is wrong. I could care less about your resume.

I don't hang around with OSU honks. More like past presidents of the Alumni Association, graduates who are partners in major NEO law firms and accounting firms, board members of major public and charitable organizations etc... The kind of people who actually make big financial contributions to UA. They love JT and think he is the right guy for the job.

Balsy and Skip, maybe it's just the crowd I run with, but I would say they are 10-1 in favor of hiring Tressel. I also know quite a few people at UA who have had a direct working relationship with JT and they all love the guy. They all say he is an intelligent guy who works tirelessly to accomplish whatever goals he sets for himself and the university. That sounds like a leader to me and that's what we need. There is more to this job than being a hatchet man or some kind of professorial egghead.

There are also those who are blinded by the belief that anything associated with "OSWho" can do no right. I find it ironic that the ABJ finally decided to get rid of anonymous commenting and now all those common citizens that filled that section are suddenly quiet. It's much harder to spew hate and vitriol when you have to own up to it with your true identity.
