When you have a QB who has no ability to read a defense and stands in the pocket too long it makes the O-line look really bad. Before Hoyer got injured the O-line looked pretty good. He knew when and where to throw the ball.

I agree. I would rather face OU than have to beat EMU 3 times in one season.

Akron vs Ken+, (hopefully) home season finale.

What exactly would that be? I thought Evans was a no show last night. -

After watching the game at home later, Q definitely deserved the T. He tried to hand the ball to the Can't player. The only problem is he mistook the guys head for his hands. Not Q's best performance last night. In the post game interview after the UB game KD said he never knows which Q is going to show up each game. The one that showed up last night is giving him gray hairs. -
Please give it a rest. Even your fellow fans over at UB Fan aren't interested in your crap.
-
It looks like Q was right about being "turned loose earlier in the game'. The other thing that I've noticed is how much better Evans has played since he has started playing at shooting guard instead of at the point.

Ivey will probably be a Grey Shirt. That means we still have one scholarship left for next year. -
How many MAC titles has your guy won?

It would be great if we could get 10 minutes from him.

Neither one of them participated in the contact drills today.

I had a chance to talk to Coach Peters at practice today. He is feeling as good as can be expected and really appreciates the prayers and support of all the fans. I could tell that he really misses being on the bench and helping the players at practice. He is a great example of what a positive attitude can do for you in all aspects of life. Even though he has been dealt a bad hand, he is very thankful for how his faith has let him live a joyful life. What an inspiration to me!

I doubt that either Jake or Reggie will play against UB Tuesday.

They really are trying everything they can think of to get more students to the games. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Help Zippy Find Her Wallet

Turning on the like function might ruin the preconceived notions of some on this forum who think they know what the members really think.

I hope Kretzer can get back to form soon. McAdams will have a much tougher time shaking off the rust. Going 7 for 15 from the three point line was huge last night.

This is an ignorant comment. What happened at that frat house has nothing to do with Akron Basketball. And to imply that the basketball program is troubled is equally dumb.

Edgars in west Akron is a really nice fine dining place. It's located at Good Park golf course in the upper level. They have a really good selection of smoked Appetizers and Entree's. My favorite is the smoked prime rib. They also have a really interesting Cuban Smoked Pork Platter appetizer. http://www.edgarsrestaurant.com/ They also have live entertainment several times a month. Nice post.

I think Lynch is going to make a nice slot receiver in the Nfl.

I thought it was a good game. Both teams played hard and UB had just enough to beat the Zips on their home floor. I like our chances at home and on a neutral court with them.
-
If Melo and Evans play good we have a chance. I have a feeling Tree is going to be very motivated to play tonight against McCrea.

I know this is a fairly old article, but I think it says a lot about why some young athletes have trouble following the rules. I don't agree with everything the author Jason Whitlock says but the basic premise is right on target. Until we as a society put more value on preserving the family structure there will be further erosion and more misery. Whitlock argues that it is primarily the minority communities that suffer from this problem but I think it is a universal problem for all the poorer classes. "Hurricane Illegitimacy" I found this article while reading Whitlocks piece on the culture of the locker room of the MIami Dolphins and the Martin investigation. Martin walked into twisted world

I don't know of any suspensions for violating team rules that we have known about in the past. There have been suspensions for getting in trouble with the law(Tree's bar fight) and suspensions for messed up paperwork and suspensions for on campus incidents involving other students(Q), but those were matters of public record. I haven't seen anyone here tell you to stop rooting for the team but I am confused why you think it's so important to know what happened. Do you think it will be beneficial to Nick and the team to drag what ever he did around the internet so "he can learn his lesson"? I'm as big a fan of the program as anyone on this board and I don't like it that Nick got suspended either. Sometimes in life things don't go the way you want them to. In my experience the best course of action is to make the best of the situation and move on with a positive attitude.

2014 commit: SG Jimond Ivey
Hilltopper replied to ZachTheZip's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
I wouldn't be surprised if we add another player to step in at the PG position. A 5th year senior transfer who could play right away. I just don't see KD standing pat with what he currently has for next season at PG.
