  1. Regardless of what happens on Wednesday, I am sure we will all remember those historic rankings for a long, long time.
  2. OU isn't very good. A piece of crap Western Michigan team will likely win 20 games this season due to the MAC's overally criminally-horiffic D1 basketball "talent." Much like Akron, OU's gaudy conference record is inflated by their tomato can opponents. The difference is - Akron is actually a very good team. OU 2013 will be lucky to go 2-deep in the NIT. Guard OU on the perimeter and they are toast. Keeley can't beat Zeke+Forcythe+Tree by himself. The road to the NCAA tourney couldn't be any easier for any team in the country. Beat the teams we should beat, and we dance. Simple as that.
  3. Steve is clever, knowledgable and quirky. That makes him entertaining, and I enjoy him. Last night Steve asked KD about the upcoming OU game. KD replied "Hey, can you let me enjoy this win for a while before taking about OU?" Stever responded - "Hey, there are a lot of people driving home after tonight's games who want to know about the OU game. It's a question that needs asked." Being one of those wondering behind the wheel, Thank You Steve! Because Steve is knowledgable, and a fan at heart, he asks good post game questions. I like how he calls a basketball game too. Even though he knows next to nothing about soccer, he also does a nice job there. The only think maddening to me about Steve is his bat-like eyesight. He never gets the names and numbers right from high atop InfoCision. But that's another idiocyncracy that makes him...him. Beware - the next announcer will be a sterile, personality-free, perfectly-schooled drone. Be careful what you wish for...you just might get it. Frenchy RULES!
  4. We only lose Suel, and hopefully we gain D'Orazio, so I don't expect the freshmen to make an immediate impact. Bowden has been searching for a "burner," so I guess if one of the frosh grades-out as the fleetest of our WR's he'll have a shot at playing early.
  5. I don't know, but if I recall correctly the guy that wrote "Yes yes yes we do, we got spirit how 'bout you?" is living pretty well now-a-days, exclusively off the residuals.
  6. They will sag on Ibitayo because he shoots 17% from three point range. Would you rather double down on Zeke, who shoots 68% from 2-point range, or put a man on Ibitayo? Play McAdams. Add Ibitayo as the newest member of Jonas and the Human Victory Cigars.
  7. I want to create an "All Pork Chop-n-Paella Point Guard" team. Can someone go to statsheet.com and compare the statistics of Rumeal Robinson, Baron Davis, Kahlid El Amin and Pearl Washington to Abreu?
  8. Why can't McAdams (can make a 3, solid on D, can dribble) or Chauncey (skill set well-known) take all of Walsh's minutes?
  9. And the extra point splits the uprights...48-3.
  10. Memphis 25 Houston 19 6:20 mark of the 1st half
  11. Score one for Z.I.P.
  12. Too bad you're playing the Zips, and not Ohio State.
  13. If true, certainly a bummer. Guess we'll see how well Chauncey's healed-up? NDSU is missing their top scorer, so I doubt they're shedding any tears for us. Unfortunately, it evens the playing field.
  14. It's like an Ianello halftime deficit.
  15. Continuing my assaut on Lady Zips' hoops - I saw in the PD that the Zips recently beat BGSU, cutting the all-time series deficit to 47-3. THAT'S amazing.
  16. "Will Ohio U’s excellent showing in last year’s NCAA Tourney give more credence to the MAC, despite a relatively down here for the conference overall? Or will some lackey’s boneheaded filing mistake eventually play a vital role in a magical Zips season going up in smoke?" "Lackey?" "Bonehead?" Harsh words for Wistercill.
  17. Man, you are perceptive.
  18. He looks like Harney's twin (on his JAR banner).
  19. Funny how the Zips and K.e.n.t women's teams have switched places (from 8-or-so years ago). I saw STO promoting their televised game this coming Saturday. Lady Zips should win by around 38?
  20. Thanks, Dr. Z! It is great to see SI giving the MAC so much love. Here's another MAC star featured in the upcoming SI swimsuit issue:
  21. In fairness to Bob Huggins - His seniors won 85 games. But they only played 117 (no post-season tourneys as an Independent cost them their shot at 90). By comparison, the 2009-10 seniors won 98 games, but played a whopping 140. Different eras.
  22. Ask Romeo Travis if he could fathom it.
  23. Iona did not do us midmajors any favors when they bowed out in Round #1 last year (gagged on a 25-point lead). Had Iona advanced a round or two, maybe the committee would be more apt to throw us a bone in 2013. Hopefully, we won't need it. I Trust in Tree.
  24. Off the top of my head, Huggins' Zips lost (NIT).
