  1. Found these, if anyone is interested in re-living that insanity...Slide Shows
  2. At the Indians game last night (greatest comeback since Akron vs. Marshall) I sat next to a position coach from K.e.n.t. He was a pretty nice guy and I picked his brain for his thoughts on the MAC. He offered the following --"Look out for Toledo. They are spending a lot of money to get their football program back on track. They have a great stadium, and once their new coach figures out what it takes to win in the MAC, they'll be the team to beat."I asked him about K.e.n.t.'s QB situation, and he just rolled his eyes. It looks as bad to him as it does to me. He also commented that their kicker is terrible. On BG - "They had to get rid of their coach. He wasn't graduating anyone, and that won't fly at BG."On Miami: "They were at the top of the MAC, and they quit spending money. That's why they've fallen on hard times. They don't want to spend what it takes to win anymore. And now that Cincinnati is in the Big East, they're losing all the better local recruits to the Bearcats."On Akron: "Beautiful new stadium. It will be the nicest in the MAC. Toledo is second. JD needs to win this season, or he's out. Same here at K.e.n.t. If we don't win this year, we're all out of a job."
  3. Anyone else recall receiving correspondence from UA stating season ticket holders would be able to choose their football seats in May 2009?
  4. Seems like the odds are stacked against him. Going to school...one month old daughter...playing two sports...that is a heavy load for a valedictorian, let alone non-qualifier.I hope it works out for him. He sounds like he'll be an exciting player if he can pull it off.
  5. Several years ago, Jabari was Canada's QB in this event.Tough call for Patrick. I guess I'd lean towards playing for the USA team. Then again, if the kid is really good, 3rd string QB for the Zips in 2009 might actually see some PT. Neither our #1 or #2 guys are taking the world by storm.
  6. That is the present situation, but I don't believe it has to be our future. What was it...5 years ago that the MAC had two Top 25 teams? The Zips have the best facilities in the MAC. And better than most in C-USA. The Zips program should now be at the level of the early 2000's Marshall...Miami...BG...Toledo. There absolutely no excuse to be otherwise. If we reach our potential, we'll be winning the MCB, GMAC or whatever bowl we end up garnering.
  7. Word on the street is Ryan Bain has been given doctor's clearance to practice. He's feeling good!Back troubles are always dicey, but everything points towards him being ready for summer camp. His foot problems also appear to be a thing of the past.
  8. Maybe it is a little more appealing than before?
  9. I think Mike was just trying to find a clever, yet safe way to use "taint" in his blog.
  10. From a Bond movie, right?
  11. ABJ Article on new, temporary spaces
  12. Zips Offer Chicago-area Playmaker

  14. Thusfar, UA is his only offer
  15. If you use it for your own personal corn hole board, no one will care. In fact it is probably encouraged. If you use the images and sell your custom Zips corn hole boxes, then someone might get pissed.
  16. He's "Mr. X" on the list...I just never got around to updating it once his identity was revealed.Last I heard, which was a month ago, he still needed his test scores. I still expect to see him in '09. I don't think his parents paid $15k for a prep school just to have him be a non-qualifier.We'll know soon enough...
  17. Still "Year to Year" after 5 years...
  18. Welcome back D1!! I'm feelin' ya!!
  19. If you are a paranoid OSU fan, that's probably what it looks like. If you're an objective observer, it probably just looks like a Zips fan who's concerned that a poorly organized beer-fest could ruin tailgating for the 99.5% of the responsible, beer-drinking people looking to enjoy a college football game day.*sigh*...when will OSU fan quit viewing everything as an affront to his true love...never, I guess...Howard Hughes was certain about those germs too...
  20. Hot prospect attracting a lot of attention
  21. I don't agree with you. I agree with you.
  22. I have never attended Hineygate AFTER a game...always before. And, very little of what you described has ever been my experience before the game. Before or after is irrelevant. It is a mob of people with loud music and big cups of beer. And that's fine...Rockin' on the River has used that same combination to draw mobs to Cuyahoga Falls for 20+ years. It works. But there are drawbacks too. As long as the yahoos who come to the UA for no other reason than to get plastered @ "Old Milwaukee-gate" don't affect me, I'm cool with them.
