  1. You mean the College of Wooster is not the major college? ?
  2. What, I have to pay off a band member now? ?
  3. https://sports.yahoo.com/virus-could-cure-college-sports-150028771.html this may have been posted before ... i came across it recently
  4. True story: I was recently doing a crossword puzzle, one of the clues was "Is unable". 4 letters, ending in N-T. I almost filled in K-E ?
  5. Well some of us might have gone to the Carolinas next month.... I guess there's always Myrtle Beach ?️
  6. The silver lining for us may be that it gives us more time to get more player talent into the program before taking the field again, while at the same time some MAC opponents may lose some of their best players to transfer. Maybe not good for the MAC overall but gets us closer to parity quicker.
  7. I'm sure in one of the myriad parallel universes it's not a factor ?
  8. Pretty much all of the MAC-CUSA-SB schools are in the same situation with big student fee subsidies but as far as I know we are the only one with a task force pending and our severity of budget and faculty cuts. The bubble has been expanding for a while now and we may be the ones to burst it. Everyone is clinging to their conference status quo, waiting and watching for some type of reset. I think if a few schools start dropping out of G5 by choice or necessity it will trigger some changes at the conference level. P.S. - some or most of the FCS conferences (e.g. Ivy League) have auto bids to the hoops and soccer tourneys, no? P.P.S. - Even though we know it wouldn't save much if any money returning to FCS, I think it would placate the faculty union / senate ... right now they just want to see a downgrade occur.
  9. It is 6 months until February. I think there will be a new president and some type of vaccine by then.
  10. Maybe Joe Akron would support a non-university, semi-pro team in Akron(?)
  11. I nailed it ! Looking forward to the spring poll ?
  12. TW pulls the trigger https://missoulian.com/sports/college/big-sky-conference/its-official-big-sky-postpones-conference-football-until-spring/article_ca29cfe1-df1a-51e4-a1b5-15e0a2136dd5.html
  13. It would be a blessing to get a tidy lump sum and not have to go there and take the beating. I'm sure we would accept a force majeure reduced settlement as we did with Nebraska and I'm sure Clemson is sure of it too.
  14. calender year or school year? it could be a factor..
  15. You're gonna have to find a better rumor to start.
  16. FWIW, the article says they doubt Akron will leave the MAC and D1.
  17. I think the task force is going to need its own thread sooner than later. Everyone needs to come up with their numbers as to the PR value of Div. I membership vs. lower divisions in order to hash out what the real net cost of athletics is.
  18. as a professor, right? i think he's long since stopped being paid president money.
  19. He made bank coming here but hard telling what direction his career path takes now. His was the only redundant president's salary we were paying since the others left voluntarily and apparently it's been paid off.

  21. When do the olympic sports normally begin?
  22. Smaller, leaner academic program..
  23. So there won't be many Div. 1 games played in September. With people jonesing for some football, it should help viewership for the games that do get played and some may get on tv that otherwise wouldn't.
  24. Stanford has any number of alumni that could sponsor all those sports for years to come. This seems mostly political / symbolic.
  25. Since they have so many infected players, and playing them would put our team at undue risk, shouldn't they have to forfeit to us?
