  1. you must have not watched the show then. everyone onthe show have had a relationship with someone online for a long period of time while never meeting them. then they call in the host Nev for help. he does some research and they meet. 99% of the time the one of the two is lying and someone always gets hurt. i have no idea what's happened here. just saying this stuff happens all the time.
  2. watch the show catfish.....happens all the time.
  3. Have not seen a stretch were Zeke has done such a good job getting position in the paint. He's bending to get low and ceiling off his defender. Looks like the light may be coming on for him on offense. Like the fact that Harney got the start although he still gets lost off the ball on D. We need something from the 2 spot moving forward to become special. If you would have told me Akron only hits two three's for the game I'd tell you they lose by 8. A tough tough win against a gritty, well coached team. Akron is set up to go on a big time winning streak.
  4. Made it to my first game this year and man did I pick a good one to go to! Here's some observations from the game. 1. Really impressed with the freshmen. They look like the know they belong. There were times when Akron had 3 frosh and 2 soph on the court and the team didn't miss a beat. Another thing that stands out is the bodies on Ktrezer and PF. They do not look like freshmen. 2. That being said Melo needs a summer in the gym. He is simply not strong enough to compete at DI this year. 3. Deji looked really good yesterday. A stat stuffer type of game and his pressence was felt on both ends of the court. That block was a goal tend but man did he get up! For those who didn't see it, Deji took the ball at the top of the square of the backboard. 4. I think the crwod was a little subdude just becasue the game was never close. 5. Loved seeing the team press. This will be a strength of the team by the end of the year. It will also help coach as he can sub more and keep his bench happy with mins. 6. Loved the concerned effort to get the ball inside. This needs to happen every game as this is what seperates Akron from most teams. Tree and Zeke looked great. KD said Tree has improved 100% and I completley agree with that. 7. CSU looked lost and I was unimpressed by their younger players. Will be interesting to see how their season plays out. Very excited to see if this game sparks a big winning streak. The schedule will certainly help with that.
  5. Click Me Wonder what, if anything will replace this for mid majors?
  6. Didn't get a chance to see the game. Saw Zeke scored almost all of his points in the 1st half. Did they stop going to him or did he just get lost in the post? Also, where were Harney and Kretzer playing on the floor? KD really needs to figure out their roles quickly. Thanks
  7. didn't get a chance to see the game but you have got to love the stat lines for Zeke Chauncey (Very happy for him) and Walsh! the Zips should beat the winner of tonights games.
  8. Chin up lumberjack! It's a long season. I am sure everyone in the nation is pulliing for Chauncey. I am sure he'll bounce back. Again, I remain bullish on the Zips this year. Very eager to see them with Tree and Harney.
  9. It would hve been the game. But not just him...everyone missed foul shots. Not good. Either lack of conditioning or lack of concentration. Either way, it needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.
  10. Some quick thougths after watching the Zips play for the first time this year. 1. If Tree and Harney are playing the Zips win this game in regulation. Tree slows down Nash and Harney gives Akron anoter scoring option that isn't an outside jump shot. 2. Was really happy to see Zeke play so well after getting into early foul trouble. His D was the key to keeping the team in the game. 3. AA looked like he was playing on fumes in the 2nd have and it showed in his play. 4. LOVE Kretzer! That kid is going to be a really good player. 5. McAdams looked like a true frosh. 6. Walsh played great and I think he'll have a big year. 7. Don't know what's up with Gilliam??? Had plently of oppurtunities and blew most of them. Hope he bounces back soon. 8. You can't miss that many foul shots and expect to win. 9. Loved the fight in the Zips! They played like they expected to win the game. Just couldn't make enough jumpers in the 2nd half. I liked what I saw despite the loss. If the team wants to be elite they need to finish these games. I am rally looking forward to seeing this team with Tree and Harney tomorrow.
  11. 1 Zips cover 2. The best chili cook off ever will take place in lot 9! 3. The Louisville Chugger will be making aappearancece I Guarantee all three will happen. GO ZIPS!
  12. A pretty good read. The MAC is in the middle but the reasoning is spot on. Thoughts? Click Me
  13. This happens all the time in all sports. This is nothing new and will continue to happen. I had a few friends who lost their scholarship or have the amount reduced in certain sports. It sucks but again this has been going on for years.
  14. Unreal! It looks like the team said "Here we go again" after Dalton threw the pick and that is all she wrote.
  15. Couple of thoughts from yesterday. 1. The food in lot 9 was fantastic! Great job by everyone. Looking forward to the chili cook off for UMASS. 2. Not sure which injury hurt the team the most yesterday between Jawon and Bice. We simply didn't have a replacements to step up. It also effected the way Akron ran it's offense and how NIU called their D. 3. NIU is a really good team. Their QB is a stud, the line play is exceptional, and they don't make mistakes. 4. The book is out on Williams. His arm strength is average at best and teams are taking away the intermediate throws inside the hashes forcing him to throw outside. 5. If Akron can get a little more help on the D line next year you'll see better LB play. I like Turner, March, and Brown. They all have speed and don't shy away from contact. Better line play and another year in the gym should produce better results from that group. 6. What has happened to Lawernce? He showed some burst early in the year and is no longer in the RB rotation. Would have liked to see him get some carries when Jawon went out. 7. Speaking of RB's...was really bummed to see Bowers running for NIU. Would have been a good 1-2 punch with Jawon. Was not surprised by the outcome. NIU is the best team in the MAC and we are not that good. I just hope that Akron is too dinged up when they play CMU and UMASS. They have a good chance to win both of those games. I'll be at Can't next week and am worried already. Hopefully Akron gets healthy and can pull off an upset. Man would that be sweet!
  16. my group is in for the cook offs. Looking forward to breakfast too!
  17. Don't think I've been looking forward to a Zips football game this much since the opener for the new stadium. Cautiously optimistic about tomorrow. Think we pull this one out. What I know is I'll be making awesome rubens.
  18. We can debate this till we're all blue in the face but the truth is Akron wants out of the MAC and is thinking of itself as better than the conference it's in. The growth the university has seen the past decade plus reflects that. If you want to see a MAC school that is content to stay in the MAC read this Can't is lame. Man I don't ever want Akron to think that way again! Akron will get out of the MAC. It's just a matter of when and to what conference. I am of the opinion that Akron is a good fit for CUSA but needs one travel partner. The question is who would that team be? If they don't have a partner can Akron boost it's budget enough to handle travel expenses? They've been positioning themselves to make this move for a long time. I applaud them in their efforts to think big. B) B) B) B)
  19. Forgot to mention lots of man coverage on d with blitz packages. Lots of WR screens and back shoulder throws on O.
  20. Good stuff JZ I'll just add a few more observations 1. Holmes is at FS and with the 1's. I think this will be a nice fit for him as he was a little stiff in the hips at cb 2. Even without Griggs playing I thought the d line looked solid. All four showed some burst with Williams, Presley, Price, and Grice playing the most with the ones. Their lack of size though will cause them to tire. A scary thought is anyone on the second team d line getting in. Not good at all. 3. JZ is right the o line looks really small. I did like the footwork of Pughsley and I think Brumbaugh is an interesting prospect. Also of note on the o line is that Clay has been moved from Center to Guard. Bohan is now at Center. Both worked with the 2's. 4. Moore looked like the same Moore from last year with a little more touch. Williams looks good in spurts but made two awful throws. If things stay like this from the upperclassmen expect to see the kid get some playing time this year. 5. Really hoping one or maybe two lb's from this years recruiting class can play right away. Both units looked bad. 6. Hoping TB can work some magic and find 5-6 juco's/grad transfers to plug the gaps. 7. Love the style of play on both sides of the ball and there was a lot of hope in the air at the big dialer yesterday
  21. Had some time to kill so I tuned in online to listen to Zips live. KD had some really interesting things to say. Here's the summary. The team: Thinks Alex can take the next step (One of the best pg's in the country) but must take care of things outside of basketball ie; diet, and staying out too late. Would like to see the team find ways to run more. Said would like to see them become more like VCU. Thinks Rico and Q will be the go to guys next year. Mentioned Zeke needs to eat, sleep, and breath basketball to take the next step. Said it's all between his ears and he needs to live in the gym. Is confident he'll take that step. Happy with the youngsters. Thinks Harney and Tree had better freshmen years than Rome and Wood. Would like to see the one of the incoming freshmen become a stretch 4. Said a mid major really needs that to be good. Wants more consistency and more toughness with defense. Schedule: Will continue to step up in scheduling. Mentioned Detroit, Marshall, Creighton, CSU, and the trip to PR that includes Providence, Tennessee, and others. Mentioned wants to schedule up to get an at large. The arena: Mentioned that most successful mid majors are basketball only schools. If they are going to take the next step they need to raise more money and upgrade their arena. Mentioned would like to see 7k basketball only with the ability to expand if they were to get into a bigger conference. Also said he wants a section for the students on the floor even going as far to say he'd like to move some donors out and bring in the students at the JAR. Conference: Mentioned that he'd like to get into another conference to take the next step. He did say that it may not be big enough to separate them from the other mid majors schools in the state. Was very happy with the team. 4 players were never in these situations and thinks they'll be a lot better next year.
  22. Been to all but the 02 game. While the championship game last year was amazing the UT game was unreal! Just thinking about all the things that took place in that game makes me shake my head. Still don't know how they won that game. Humpty Hump!
  23. Just to stress point 2. Akron needs to do a better job shooting from the outside. They have been poor the past two weeks shooting from 15ft out. Every team is just packing in and daring them to shoot. Akron's D and transition offense is what got them the win at Can't. Hit a few jumpers early and don't commit silly turnovers there's not a team in the MAC that can beat us.
  24. Bad here. Had me thinking...would you rather have video that doesn't skip with no sound or sound with no video? I'd go video. Also, why does Frenchy always sound amazed when a left hander makes a left handed shot? Always makes me chuckle.
