  1. KD said on the post game that Williams will be playing immediately.
  2. I realize that this team is very young but this is the weakest team KD has had mentally. Guys like Reggie, Jake, and Niles just vanish. I'll give Kwan and Antino a pass as they are really young but they have to get tougher. The team who wanted it more won today. If UB makes their foul shoots they win going away. Great performance by Deji tonight.
  3. BG goes down. OU doesn't show up against Can't and UT puts the smack down on WMU
  4. with that height and weight I wouldn't be surprised if they are looking at him like a Cody Grice. Undersized DT with some speed.
  5. He's from Florida. I'm guessing the connection is on that end.
  6. 100 likes for lot 9 becoming the official tailgating lot. Make sure they don't price people out. The idea is to have that lot have an amazing atmosphere.
  7. Rivals showing a new commitment https://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Jason-Williams-166996;_ylt=Akd0OJzSFPdpOSeWamxUKi5DPZB4
  8. He will be our first Zip to win an Olympic medal. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2015/01/university_of_akron_pole_vault.html
  9. Akron, aside from last years collapse, owns WMU. Completely agree with a complete game and excellent defensive performance. For those who like to pick on KD look at how he totally out coached Hawkins last night. Great game plan of wearing down WMU with a heavy rotation. Also, love the change in looks. Switching from zone to man while in the same possession. WMU was confused all night on O. Let's hope this is the start of a team that's hitting an uptick.
  10. Good article. I think this quote backs up your point Capt. This fall, Houston, another member of Temple's American Athletic Conference, debuted $158 million TDECU Stadium. Though the Cougars went 8-5 and earned an Armed Forces Bowl bid, crowds were smaller than anticipated. On some Saturdays, the 40,000-seat facility was less than half-full. "You usually have to accompany a new stadium with a winning football team," Schemmel said. "Akron has gotten better, but they're not over the top yet. And I think Houston experienced the same thing. They had a mediocre season, and they didn't fill up their stadium the way they thought they would."
  11. The team needs the minimum from Puppy Chow and he has not done that thus far Where has Jake's game gone? Hustle points for sure but the kid is passing up open looks now. I'm concerned. Never thought I'd type this but the on the pressure Nyles is applying is fun to watch. I agree with all of the BJ accolades. Looks like he lost some weight and was moving a little quicker and getting more lift. I didn't see that earlier in the year. Pat's close to being a top MAC player. Just needs a little more strength and to play with a bit more of mean streak. Speaking of streak.... this team is really young so I expect this team to have moments where they look like a team that can win the MAC and moments where they make you want to pull your hair out. Last night was a prime example of that. KD will earn his paycheck this year. Very eager to see how the Zips match up against the MAC elite.
  12. This is comical! Put the feed up on my tv and it bounced back to halftime 3 times hahahahahahahahahahha that's all I can say.
  13. Did you not all just see the crap deal the commissioner just got for the MAC? This conference is garbage. CUSA at least has some decent teams and a decent tv deal (No more tues games). Also, this will help with non conference scheduling as they can always schedule Can't, BG, OU, etc. Akron recruits in the south and this would help with that. People talk about getting to the AAC. This is how you do it.
  14. If anyone from UA is reading this......PLEASE PICK A LOT for all tailgaters. Lot 9, lot 10, I really don't care! I'll go to that lot if it means I'll be tailgating with as many Akron fans as possible. The only reason I want into lot 9 each year is because that's the lot with the most and imho the most die hard tailgaters. Figure it out please
  15. This thread is about the best QB for 2015. I agree Woodson is terrible.
  16. I agree with this post. I just didn't see any plays or games that left me saying, "Kyle really made some plays to win the game". Normally, it was more of Kyle making a really poor throw or two that left us playing catch up. Maybe he develops in the off season but I'm pretty sure this is what you'll get from him in his senior year. Additionally, the fact that he can no longer run takes away a dimension he once possessed. I don't know if Chapman or Kincade are the answers but I know they're physically superior. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Akron will have a team with lots of experience next year and can win the East. The question is who gives the team the best shot to win games. Not just who is best at managing games.
  17. First time at attempting a poll so I hope I did this right. I've waited all year to post this poll as I wanted to see how the year played out for Kyle and the Zips. I think it's fair to call Kyle and the Zips as a whole a disappointment. While there are holes on this team that has been talked about at length the one major hole this year was at QB. Kyle took a step back this year and it really hurt the offense. His decision making at times left you scratching your head and his accuracey is not good. Top it off with the fact that Kyle no longer runs so you lose the the option read and him possibly gaining a 1st down with his legs. I'm almost about to write this kid off but sometimes seniors come back with more focus and overachieve. I'm curious of your thoughts. Here are his stats for the year game by game for you to review. http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/514617/kyle-pohl
  18. Cannot make the game but wanted to say.....It's 8:08 am and Can't State still sucks!!!! Go Zips

  20. Thanks guys. Just used to seeing freshmen come in and dominate and now my standards are probably too high. Now how about answering my PK question? Thanks again
  21. Ok I'm not "soccer guy" but was that really bad work by both goaltenders? Had no faith in either making a saving throughout. Is this the end for Embrick? If not please explain why. Thanks soccer guys
  22. watched the 1st half live while at lunch and just watched the 2nd half. Here's a few thoughts. Love the transformation of Evans. Last year he was a guy looking for his shot only. This year he's getting boards, finding opening teammates, and playing pesky D. It was said before but Kwan is going to be a very good player sooner rather than later. Great skill set. Speaking of transformations; welcome Pat! Played great today and it was nice to see him smiling. All of the hype of the frosh point guards is true. Robo is rock solid and strong for his age. Antino is a great change of pace. You can tell both came from winning HS and AAU programs as they were not phased by playing a power 5 school. Not to pile on Carmelo but the two freshmen have combined for 34 points in two games. Melo had 66 all of last season. Jake and BJ looked lost today. The team still had some issues with the zone but I feel better about it than in years past. KD had his team ready and USC looked lost. Excited to see this team take another step tomorrow against the U.
  23. Nice location for them! They do pretty well by CSU's campus. I've been there twice. Solid food and cheap beer. What more could a college student ask for.
