  1. This is comical! Put the feed up on my tv and it bounced back to halftime 3 times hahahahahahahahahahha that's all I can say.
  2. Did you not all just see the crap deal the commissioner just got for the MAC? This conference is garbage. CUSA at least has some decent teams and a decent tv deal (No more tues games). Also, this will help with non conference scheduling as they can always schedule Can't, BG, OU, etc. Akron recruits in the south and this would help with that. People talk about getting to the AAC. This is how you do it.
  3. If anyone from UA is reading this......PLEASE PICK A LOT for all tailgaters. Lot 9, lot 10, I really don't care! I'll go to that lot if it means I'll be tailgating with as many Akron fans as possible. The only reason I want into lot 9 each year is because that's the lot with the most and imho the most die hard tailgaters. Figure it out please
  4. This thread is about the best QB for 2015. I agree Woodson is terrible.
  5. I agree with this post. I just didn't see any plays or games that left me saying, "Kyle really made some plays to win the game". Normally, it was more of Kyle making a really poor throw or two that left us playing catch up. Maybe he develops in the off season but I'm pretty sure this is what you'll get from him in his senior year. Additionally, the fact that he can no longer run takes away a dimension he once possessed. I don't know if Chapman or Kincade are the answers but I know they're physically superior. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Akron will have a team with lots of experience next year and can win the East. The question is who gives the team the best shot to win games. Not just who is best at managing games.
  6. First time at attempting a poll so I hope I did this right. I've waited all year to post this poll as I wanted to see how the year played out for Kyle and the Zips. I think it's fair to call Kyle and the Zips as a whole a disappointment. While there are holes on this team that has been talked about at length the one major hole this year was at QB. Kyle took a step back this year and it really hurt the offense. His decision making at times left you scratching your head and his accuracey is not good. Top it off with the fact that Kyle no longer runs so you lose the the option read and him possibly gaining a 1st down with his legs. I'm almost about to write this kid off but sometimes seniors come back with more focus and overachieve. I'm curious of your thoughts. Here are his stats for the year game by game for you to review. http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/514617/kyle-pohl
  7. Cannot make the game but wanted to say.....It's 8:08 am and Can't State still sucks!!!! Go Zips
  8. Cleveland.com follow up http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2014/11/kent_state-buffalo_game_cancel.html
  9. Thanks guys. Just used to seeing freshmen come in and dominate and now my standards are probably too high. Now how about answering my PK question? Thanks again
  10. Ok I'm not "soccer guy" but was that really bad work by both goaltenders? Had no faith in either making a saving throughout. Is this the end for Embrick? If not please explain why. Thanks soccer guys
  11. watched the 1st half live while at lunch and just watched the 2nd half. Here's a few thoughts. Love the transformation of Evans. Last year he was a guy looking for his shot only. This year he's getting boards, finding opening teammates, and playing pesky D. It was said before but Kwan is going to be a very good player sooner rather than later. Great skill set. Speaking of transformations; welcome Pat! Played great today and it was nice to see him smiling. All of the hype of the frosh point guards is true. Robo is rock solid and strong for his age. Antino is a great change of pace. You can tell both came from winning HS and AAU programs as they were not phased by playing a power 5 school. Not to pile on Carmelo but the two freshmen have combined for 34 points in two games. Melo had 66 all of last season. Jake and BJ looked lost today. The team still had some issues with the zone but I feel better about it than in years past. KD had his team ready and USC looked lost. Excited to see this team take another step tomorrow against the U.
  12. Nice location for them! They do pretty well by CSU's campus. I've been there twice. Solid food and cheap beer. What more could a college student ask for.
  13. Zips show up focused. D plays well. O is conservative and limits turnovers (Call it the Pitt plan). Zips by 10. First time I'm predicting a win this year.
  14. I'm bullish on this team MVP: Tree (Really no other option) Biggest Surprise: I'm going with Robotham too just because I haven't seen him play. Of the list of current players I'll go with Pat. Biggest Disappointment: BJ Award Winners: Tree POY, Robotham All Frosh, KD COY Season Results: Zips with the rubber match against a really good Rocket team and finally get a NCAA win (It's bound to happen one year right???)
  15. Melo was one of the most offensively challenged players I've ever seen. I had hoped he'd be that steady with the ball/pesky defender but he just never developed. DII will be a much better place for him. I wish him well.
  16. Crap I am just seeing this and already bought food! May just have to be a judge this year. I'll see what I can come up with.
  17. Are you for real? I don't live close enough to go to something like that and I can say the same for many others that come on this site. The board depends on people like you to give us any information that they way have heard. Get off your high horse. Unreal. Thank you for providing zero input on the outing.
  18. I'd disagree that there isn't a lot he can work on especially if he wants to play professionally somewhere. His ball handling and outside jumper being two off the jump. Did they mention anything about Alex? What are their "true" goals for the season. What do they think of the new MAC deal with ESPN that takes a big dump on basketball? Arena stuff? Anything?????
  19. http://www.ohio.com/blogs/ua-zips/university-of-akron-zips-blog-1.277207/zips-football-the-two-deep-depth-chart-updated-1.515691?localLinksEnabled=false A couple of things from me here. Glad to see Brown is starting. Surprised but not stunned Williams is backing up Osbone. Rossi back at FB is a bit of a surprise but shows the strength we have at LB. Disappointed to see MTB not take that next step. Happy to see no Frosh in the 2 deep. Has been years since Akron's had a roster deep enough to develop talent properly. Who's ready for some football Thursday!!!?!!?!!
  20. The pres speaks. Put this in the arena thread as well as there's a quick quote about it. http://www.ohio.com/news/local/new-university-of-akron-president-outlines-aggressive-program-in-talk-with-roundtable-audience-1.511609

  22. Congrats to DeAndre Yedlin! Would be awesome to see a Zip make the world cup. http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1819293/landon-donovan-clint-dempsey-us-30-man-world-cup-squad?cc=5901
  23. The official bar is the Clevelander again. Was a good time two years ago. Didn't get to go last year as I was in Savannah (first world problems)
  24. If you end up taking 176 you won't be able to get into downtown as you can't go 90 East due to the new bridge construction. You will have to take 176 to 490 to 77 to get to DT.
