Azipscrazy i have to disagree with you it is much harder for team in the mac to get big o and d lineman with any talent. most recruits that paly on the line are either undersized, projects, or are risks as far as grades go.

i was at the meet the team day today and allen was on crutches and had a full leg knee brace on not good at all lets hope reed can help out asap and does any one know if boone plans on enrolling in spring?

i don't see him at the wr. spot he's too small. he's either going to be an all porpose back kinda in the mode of incoming frosh arris reed or he'll become a great corner with the chance at returning kicks.... who really knows though what really matters is the kid's a player!

i know that akron is updating its web page but its curious to see that Jerrel Stoudemire isn't listed on the team roster when an incoming walk on like Sandilands is. does any one know anything about this?

i think he should be ok... just by reading the rivals articles it seems like hill's father had a major factor in his verbal with akron despite more "sexy offers". a strong support system for any student entering college is huge. lets hope this is only the start of another great zips recruiting class!

per gozips.comjulie jones was named head softball coach. she was the head coach from cleveland state and has lead them to ncaa bids in the past. this is a great hire as she is established in the area and is from the akron area (garfield H.S.) i also like that the article points that she's done everything from budgets to fundraising! the softball team was on its way up and will only get better with this hire!

i thought the PD article said that UT got the gate but OSU gets a cut of consessions (remember they can sell beer there). OSU will not loose any money in this as they will still have 7 home games. it would be nice to work something like this out in the future... maybe with say PITT? just a thought

you just don't get it! every college has issues like this. just be happy that our school kicks ass now and we have a great president. we all worked in college but we also had lots of fun after all its college! i am sorry to the rest of the board for getting off track but i am very proud of what my school has accomplished in the past 7-10 yrs now back to the original thread i think some of the comments on the board my have some weight to it as JD and KD aren't MAC's guys but if he's smart (and we are all hoping he is) he sign them to extensions asap. there also is the theory that the deals are done but are pushed to the back burner for other contracts and new coach searches. either way i hope we can keep both of these coaches for as long as possible!

what the hell is your problem LP hasn't taken a raise is years and still isn't the highest pres in the mac... hell the new pres at Can't makes more than him and he has done more for the university than the past 10 presidents! state schools only operate on 24% of funds from the state so they have to raise fees from time to time. you think these buildings just grow from the ground! just be happy that we have a great university and a great pres dick hole!

blue and gold thanks for the catch was typing on the run... i edited my post if you'd like to look at it again.... as for the second part of your question i am not assuming that info was insider... i am a recent grad of almost 3 yrs now and when i was finishing up school they had made up designs for a presentation at the jar. they also showed pics of a completed student union and rec center. if my memory is correct the design showed lots of fields with lots of lighting and and nice brick walkway starting at exchange. i am sure this has always been the idea as there are really no more softball feilds (for students) and i am sure the university doesn't want students playing football in the bowl any more let alone the new outdoor field.... i am sure thoose plans could have changed by now but it is looking more like they are moving ahead with this planhere's to another great add to the university!oh... and

to answer your question capt. yes they will be for intramurals they have been talking about this for the past few years and seem to be moving forward with this as now they can replace the old softball hole. as for the football staduim i agree that they didn't play all their cards but that is smart buisness i just hope that the seating starts at 30k and they break ground in less than 2 yrs.

its a new rule that allows a player who has completed his b.a. but still has a year of eligibility left. the player is allowed to transfer to a school to futher their education through a masters program... the catch is you don't have to sit out a year ...imho this rule shouldn't hurt too many teams if anything this rule can help akron as they have great graduate programs
