  1. This will give you an idea:
  2. I want 1 more win this year. Not because 3-9 is so much better than 2-10 but because I feel that 3 wins will allow TB to tell recruits that he turned the corner with this program and broke the 1 win season trend.
  3. The cheap shot on TW is VERY cheap and sickening . Any one with even minimal knowledge of zips athletics would know that your claim is not true. Otherwise, I agree with the rest of the post. Great Porter - Stevens analogy.
  4. We can second guess play calling and have different opinions but can someone explain why we decided to chew 1:41 off the clock to end the first half? Keep in mind that we had all our timeouts too.
  5. I'm playing to be there +1
  6. Best wishes for a long and fruitful professional career. Zeke was and will always be one of the bright spots of Zips Basketball.
  7. I think that Zeke will be bounds and leaps better than Tiago Splitter for the spurs.
  8. I am sorry I have to disagree with you GP1. It is absolutely ridiculous to think that players do not develop and get better in the NBA. So you think the Danny Green that was waived by the Cavs, Spurs (twice) a couple of years ago broke Larry Bird's 3point record last week without getting better? Many players seem to be heading out of the back door of the league, they get traded, get some good coaching, playing time, and boom: ca$hing big time in the next free agency. This year examples with the Cavs: Shawn Livingston, Wayne Ellington, and Mo Speights.
  9. You are thinking of winning rings (which is fine) but I am talking about having a long successful career in the league. I would prefer to be on a team where I play and improve my game and get another contract (after the rookie contract expires) over winning a ring and being out of the league in 2 years. By a rough quick statistical survey I ran earlier, around 60% of the 2nd round picks do not have a job in the league 4 years after they get drafted. Norris Cole is a first round pick, different talent level with a much nicer contract situation. Do you know what happened to the rookie center who is on the miami roster this year? he played 40 minutes the whole season. He will probably be waived soon (maybe next year) What do you think about the growth and progress of their other center? Joel Anthony? I simply hope Zeke doesn't get stuck in that situation... ring or no ring.
  10. The heat is the worst place for a young player to develop. The concept of "teaching" does not even cross the mind of Spoelstra. He's too busy making sure the big 3 are happy and getting along. Why would a young player go there?
  11. It doesn't matter what you think of pot and whether or not it should be legal. AA should not set a foot in the JAR, ever! This is Akron! Think about the next time KD is visiting a family to recruit a kid. You have one of two scenarios: Scenario 1: ======== Parent: so coach, how about that Abreu kid? KD: That was an isolated unfortunate incident. The kid made a bad decision, we helped him get back on his feet because we care about our people. We also made sure that no one else on the team was involved by running extensive drug tests. We made sure every one on the team learned a valuable lesson, so this will never happen again. Scenario 2: ======== Parent: so coach how about that Abreu kid? KD: That was an isolated unfortunate incident. The kid made a bad decision, and... Parent: ...and you're fine with that... and you allowed him back on the team! KD: well no, but we wanted to give him another chance Parent: another chance to sell pot to my son? KD: he's really regretting what he did. Parent: I don't want my kid to regret anything so he's not going to Akron Pick one of the two scenarios .
  12. The kings just hired Chris Jent as an assistant coach. Jent spent the last few years at tOSU working a lot with Jeff Boals (a big fan of Zeke). I am sure coach Boals put a good word with coach Jent. Just saying.
  13. So how do you feel about Desagana Djop and Dajuan Wagner?
  14. I feel that I should have gone a few streets over to Progressive Field. It would have been more entertaining for a fraction of the cost.
  15. As an academic person, It upsets me that this clown is the president of an institution, let alone one of the largest in the country. I am not sure what is it that qualifies him for a job of that caliber. I am not an OSU expert/fan, so I would appreciate the insights of OSU alumni who can shed some light on the good attributes of Dr. Gee.
  16. Did coach Weigand graduate from his same HS?
  17. Is there a video clip (youtube or other) of the rowdies singing Bon Jovi's living on a prayer? Thanks in advance.

  18. I have one memory of Can't at the Q:
  19. They probably won't play WMU, I think they'll be playing Buffalo in the semis. In which case I won't be sure who to root for.
  20. Buffalo can't keep shooting that well from behind the arc, can they? Also, why aren't we pressing full court. Buffalo is not that deep. We can wear them out.
  21. YAAAAAY!!!! I'm almost sure I'll get fired because of the yelling i did in my office today. Definitely worth it though!
  22. Only the MAC would schedule a game of this caliber on a Wednesday night. Other conferences would have found a way to make it a prime time Saturday game.
  23. You're right Zen. My bad. I should have been more precise. What I meant by things not going our way is "if we didn't go dancing".
  24. My sincere apologies to those offended by the thread. I want the Zips to win out, win the tournament, go dancing, and even win a few NCAA games as much if not more than the next guy. I also believe they have a good chance of doing that. Risk analysis does not jinx your process or lead you to commit suicide. Risk analysis is the prediction of the consequences that may arise if the un-probable happened. I apologize again for those whose feelings were hurt. Moderators can delete the thread if they see appropriate.
