I was looking at the website (gozips.com) and it seems that only an audio link will be provided.Is there anyway for us to see the games this week end ? (other than heading to alaska off course).

What you are saying is true... we keep getting snubbed because we do not have the respect yet.Last year we had the chance to beat Nevada at home but we didn't. We also had bad losses at UIC and against UALR.In order to gain the respect, we need to win those games. Not schedule away games with bigger schools.We keep talking about our weak schedule while the truth is that we had 6 losses...let's beat every team on our schedule and make it to the tournament. This, in my opinion is a shorter way to getting respect.

This ranking is not set in stone. That's why we need our opponents, mainly MAC teams to do good in their OOC schedule. Only then, beating them would be valuable for the committee.If those team end up being bad teams, than the other possibility is for us to go undefeated. What are the chances of that happening? we'll find out.I know that some people will start questionning KD and his scheduling strategy. The thing is that this guy is dreaming big, bigger than what we're used to. He is not going to go anywhere without a return game. And good teams will not come to the JAR to play us until they respect us. KD is building the respect for the team, not for himself. If the guy had a short term plan to build his resume, he would go play in NC, DUKE, OSU etc... hoping for an upset that puts him under the big lights to get a better job. He chose the other way, he is building the respect for Akron, not for KD. This is not a 2 year plan. This may be a 6-8 year plan that started 4 years ago. The guy is doing his job by consistently improving the talent level and reloading competitive teams year in year out. The community has to do its share. We have to outgrow the JAR so that Proenza give us a better place.

I agree with zips fan. We need the MAC teams to do good in their OOC schedule. This will make the MAC look better and improve our RPI when we hopefully beat them.

Skip-zip, you're absolutely right... i didn't know much about Oregon state and colorado state so for some reason, i assumed that they may be good teams.Now that you pointed it out, i think that winning that tournament is the minimum requirement if we want to do anything this year.

How about that 16 point upset of Gardner Webb over #22 Kentucky in Kentucky?Didn't we beat GW by around 20 points last year?This should be the year where the zips pull some of those upsets. How about we start by winning the BP top of the world tournament?sounds good to me.

How much is the individual sale ticket for those seats?I live around 3 hours out of Akron. I am not sure how many games i'll be able to attend. I don't mind buying a season ticket at $175 and support the team, but i was complaining last year about those who buy tickets and don't show up for games. I am not sure what's the best thing to do. Rowdy zip, count me in as one of those ex rowdies who like to yell and scream. Will the oldies be active during the bball season? it will be nice if we can arrange to sit together in one section.

I never thought that those merger discussions were serious... now it is starting to bother me as it seems like it is seriously being considered.I don't know about you guys, but i feel sick when i immagine this cleveland state zips thing . If some one in the political ranks is testing the waters, we need to make sure they understand how we feel about this move.I personally did not go to CSU (or NE Ohio university, if that's what they will call the new entity), it is not my Alma Mater... i will never contribute a penny to it or attend its athletic events. I will never vote for anyone who is involved in such a merger, might i add.Let's see how stubborn politicians can be.

I think that events like this are great apportunities for the zips to build a large fan base.We need zippy's help to raise new generations who feel that this is Roo town... after all Brutus won't come to their events.

After the loss of Miami to temple today, it hurts even more that we couldn't hang on to our 20-3 lead last week.We could have been flying solo in the lead.

In my humble opinion, Dru and Rome despite being two of the best things to happen in Akron sports, will not be missed at all.In fact i would take the J-wood-Dials combo over Rome-Dru any day of the week. Add Ced and Quade and you got four senior leaders with a whole lot of raw talents. I wouldn't worry about the meida... when was the last time they had it right anyways?I know that Can't state will be tough, really tough and i kind of agree with them being on top... but Ohio?!!! they were horrible at the end of last year. And Miami! why ? because they won last year's MAC ? that's not too convincing to me.

UA has doctorate programs in "almost" every discipline.I know for sure: polymer science and eng, all engineering majors, Math & sciences, eductaion and arts.Those are for sure.

I was not at the event last friday but remember meeting Sweich last year in the game at Duquesne. He was extremely excited and extremely nice and friendly. I can't wait to see him in uniform.Any info about Bardo would be greatly appreciated.

I think everybody is tired of those who have no ambitions and enjoy the mediocre status of their team. Not only that, but also are cocky enough to come out and call others names.I would understand and respect someone who says: it was bad loss, the coaches did not do a great job but this is still our team and we should support them now and keep going to the games until the end of the season when we re-evaluate them. But for you to tell me that i should shut my mouth and never complain about anything is not helping at all

As much as it hurts, we have to admit that we are one of the bottom teams in D1-A football.We beat Army and Can't because they are even worse than us. We beat WMU because we got lucky (something like the basketball Miami's 3pointer last year).We keep hearing about the Mac best recruiting classes year after year. JD has great facilities and support, yet his recruits are nothing impressive (at least those who make it to play). JD himself seems to make a gameplan before the game begins but never make any adjustments after that. We always look decent in the first half and horrible in the second. I may not be knowledgeable enough to say who should be replaced and who should be fired... but it is easy to say that we are not as good as we think. We are in the bottom 10.

I think that we are the worst team in half time adjustments.It seems that we always can stop teams in the first half, but come second half, they know our tricks and they adjust to us. We can never stop the other team or get anything done on offense in the 2nd half.Look at OSU, Indiana and today.
