    Not sure if this appeared. SS, first team all-Cal JC, Riverside CC. In any case it's reported in my town he's verballed to Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, who are going nowhere fast.

    Had to check on the DiBernardo bros, as Angelo was IMHO the greatest college player I've ever seen for young Yeagley's Hoosiers in the late 70s. Angie had 20 caps for country, 3 goals. Paul had a grand total of 1 cap.

    I just noticed Middle Tennessee State WBB is ranked #23 in the country, on a 16-game winning streak. Not bad for a mid-major, but they have Lanae Riley, the much sought-after F from Hoban HS, who Akron recruited hard. She's only played in 2 games this season in Murphreesboro. Makes you wonder...

    Volume looks like the Word of the Season in college basketball shooting. 🏀 Akron also, even with Groce's style is taking more shots and possessions than in the past. Is it just me, or are 3-point %'s down throughout CBB this year? It sure seems that way, but teams aren't slowing the shooting parade.

    The ranking for portal signees-- is that a current rank or out of high school? The national rankings I've seen seem to be based entirely on high school recruits, and do not include transfers. Another thing I notice from looking (for the first time in years). The number and % of 3☆ players seems to have skyrocketed over the years -- MAC schools didn't recruit that high a % of three stars in the past. https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/consensus-team/football/2023/

    Zips face 3-12 Central Michigan at the JAR tonight. It seems if there were EVER a time to give more players an opportunity to see the floor, tonight is the time. Also, Toledo travels down to face the Bowling Green Falcons in a duel with post-season positioning built in.

    Shout out to EMUSteve, a really good guy who I used to converse with 20 yrs ago on the MAC email list. HurEagles haven't progressed much since then! Oh, they DID win a bowl game!
