    Akron outplayed Dayton for the first three minutes or so, and maybe the last 5 minutes of the first half. Other than that, the Davises were in command! But we will only have a couple games vs teams as athletic as this one, so I'm impressed that this team can compete in just about every game. And we might evan have a chance against a possibly top-ten USC Trojans team on 12/24... Keep the faith.

    Well, after 8 minutes I see two differences with Team Groce. Tenacious defense underneath by the undersized bigs. And no way would Keith have called that time out after Dayton's run. He didn't like calling timeouts during run-of-play.

    Florida State is beating Florida 24-16 late in third. Then they need a win over (?) a lower rated team next week to make 6 wins. Could you see Bowden's team playing the school most associated with the family in...Detroit, etc.?

    For the quick Lanes Bowl in Motown the direct tie-in is B1G and ACC, with the MAC having the secondary affiliation. What are the chancez that the primary conferences can fill the slots? Haven't looked at the standings, but might a Minnesota be a possibility? What about the ACC? They able to fill all their slots? Point I'm making is, this would be the LEAST appealing bowl game for their teams, but perhaps MOST appealing to the MAC. Edit! I see now that MinnieBoata has to pull off the Upset of the B1G season and beat Wisconsin to get to 6 wins. One of the flies in the bowl ointment is that the crummy Conference USA could have ten teams be bowl eligible. Crazy!

    Good morning, Akron!! I just found on my TV's screen guide that the game is in fact being broadcast on the Fox College Sports Central network. Now, I gotta hope my car repairs are done by 2 O'clock.

    Does that nean the game is on FoxSports1? I haven't checked. I do have Fox Sports Central on my cable sports plan here. They've been showing Ashland (soccer) and Mount Union football, amazingly. And Bowden's coaches show was on once this season.

    Top Drawer Soccer has the Zips in the number 3 slot this week. The same as last week. There's just one thing about this I don't get: Indiana in 7th place. It says they have 1 loss.     Malcom's experience will come in handy for Rd 1 of the Diamond Head Classic come Dec. 22. He's the only team member who's ever played the Trojans of Southern Cal. Looked, but unfortunately, Oregon State has erased his statistical record from their site.
