The Bowerman will be awarded in two days (12/17), and guess who is prohibitive favorite? Will the trophy appear in the JAR?

Frankly, I expect a very similar scenario in Houston next year. No major soccer programs nearby. And Zip_ME87, I'm glad to hear there was a "decent crowd behind the teams", as on TV it looked like a thou, perhaps even 500 people 'singin in the rain'. smh.

I would love to dump on Don Garber as well, as he is one of my least fave figures. However, I'm pretty sure the UCL, i.e., European Champions League (why does Europe get abbreviated with a 'U'?) employs the same scheduling strategy, using two-legged ties until the final of the knock-out rounds. I like that practice, as it gives each side a better opportunity to advance, yet creates the excitement of a winner-take-all championship -- but, I don't think there has ever been a Champions League final played on a home field. MLS should avoid that, despite the Crew laying an egg at home.

I enjoyed the five guys at the final chant/serenading Taylor Twellman. The cameras did a good job of exposing the nearly 20,000 empty seats, and Taylor held the NCAA up to rightful contempt for the awful turnout. Even compared it to the women's tourney in Carey, which was nearly sold-out.

They've already subtracted the cost from the $325,000 FIPB payout.

I think you're the second person who thinks we're playing Idaho State. Go Zips. Beat Bengals!

It is dependent on the player or (sometimes but rarely) the school to notify that site (i.e., no one at TDS goes out of their way to discover recruiting info). That's why many schools have no recruits listed until after the signing date. Does BGSU show any 2016 recruits?

Just wondered if anyone has seen any College Cup merchandise available on the web? I've been looking, and found some for last week's women's tournament, but not this week's. I see that the UA Bookstore is selling Potato Bowl shirts, but nothing for the College Cup.

Adam Najem Focused on National Title

Funny, but I have never noticed that feature on TennZip's posts. I use Chrome or sometimes still IE. -
Wow! I bet if Grice knew he could get a life-size decal of himself, he would have placed Detroit ahead of the Bahamas! Now he gets a two-person tent. Will he fit?

In the olden days, when the UA Alumni Dept cared about average grads, they would have put something together, but now they don't care unless you have a seven-figure check to present. I'm afraid you are on your own. Lots of cheap lodging in and around Boise, however. Figure a plan, and you'll have a nice trip. Could be an interesting game, since both teams are unpredictable, with up and down seasons. Let's hope we cut down on mistakes, and we should have a real chance for a bowl win.Hey, just remembered this connection between the schools: I believe USU's stadium was used as a model for Infocision. Anyone else remember that?

Wow! Congratulations to coach Bowden and his team. If I were ever going to travel to an American football game, this would absolutely be the game. Boise is a fantastic and beautiful city. The weather can be anywhere from snow and 20s to sunny and 70s -- and I think over the past 25 yrs this game has been played, they've had more good than bad weather. If you're going, do your research, as there is a lot in the area to do. You may, if the weather is good, consider driving in from Portland over the Wallowa Mts. The area around Boise is one of the most scenic in America. And of course, don't forget to enjoy the Basque Block! Happy travels, and Go Zips!

This has been a very memorable weekend, with two hard-fought victories by my favorite teams -- and then the hard-to-believe last minute cancellation of the USWNT game two miles from my house. That one is very hard to accept, being the first international football match to be played in the 50th state. The American Outlaws Honolulu just got inaugurated, and this puts a big damper on our and the state's #FootiePride. Hope it's not our last chance, but the state and university have to get their facilities in shape.

The four Akron players on the Timbers (Nanchoff, Zemanski, Nagbe, one more -- not Porter) posed for a pic next to the plane when they landed in Columbus, I saw tweeted. Fourth might have been the Kiwi coach (remind me his name again).

Best thing may be that the next (two) game(s) will be on ESPN, so no more of that AWFUL video company! Well, I DID see four of the five goals... Once the picture returned after Creighton's first goal, the only problem was the audio preceding the picture by 20 seconds. Oh well!
-
Sporting Park, Kansas City! IOW, we can fly back with the Bluejays. Though it was a bit chippy on the ground!
-
Ha ha ha. When did we sign George Hamilton?
-
#TimberJoey ! And according to PTFC FB, he and the "Victory log" we're on the way to Columbus.
-
I thought coming in that today's winner (Akron or Creighton) would be the favorite. Hope I was right!!
-
We play Stanford or Wake in semis? I think.
-
Played about 25 mins with no score. Video is off and on. Sidearm Sports?? Gimme a friggin' break!

Scarborough's next move...
Z.I.P. replied to urbanpreppie05's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
I have to admit, I am coming into this issue after the barn door has pretty-much closed. However, from what I have read about the "affair" (not to compare it to President Peggy Elliott's), it would seem that an army of PR people would have a hard time keeping up with Scarborough's gaffes. -
I know that the Sunday match will be again videovised by Sidearm Sports. The SMU broadcast left a LOT to be desired (though I thought the commentary was better than expected). Many times the play was off-camera or the camera zoomed in too close. And then there was the five+ second video delay. At least you had an audio warning when something important was about to happen! Who exactly IS Sidearm Sports? Is it Akron-based, or do they just use local crew?

So, yours is the only smart a$& allowed? Mahalo!
