  1. I think the indoor facility, the new stadium and the hiring of Terry Bowden, Chuck Amato and Terrell Buckley are all pretty good indications that the university is serious about FBS football. Terry needs more than a year to fix the disaster that was Rob Ianello. The pieces were in place for us to be an NIU, but the horrendous decision to hire Rob Ianello the year after building the stadium set this program back to D2 level. Things will get better. I, much like the majority of the fans here know that we can compete in the MAC and competeting in the MAC means far more to me than D-1AA meaningless football. I know...I know...the MAC is meaningless you say. Tell that to NIU playing in the Orange Bowl. That is far greater than any D1-AA national championship game.
  2. After sitting through a pathetic football season, most of us were ready for basketball because of the team's high expectations. To say that this team has been a disappointment thus far is an understatement. Pessimism and being a zips fan go hand in hand.
  3. We are not a very good basketball team. We beat this team by 20 last year. I am getting very concerned with the lack of effort and undisciplined basketball that this team plays with.
  4. They can boot a few teams like Eastern Michigan or Bowling Green, which really do nothing for the conference because they are below average or average at athletics and they are in small town markets with no real room to grow. I think the MAC would look pretty attractive by keeping the upper 2/3 of the conference and going after a few of the decent programs left that are looking for stability.
  5. Kind of a broken record. Teams make adjustments against us every game in the 2nd half and we can do nothing. I am sick of no adjustments, stupid play calling, bad penalties, poor tackling and blown coverages. I am starting to see why no other d1 coach hired Bowden and most of the people at north Alabama were not upset to see him go. I have really lost a lot of confidence that he is the guy to turn this program around. I pray that I am wrong.
  6. I know it isn't the best publicity in the world, but I am glad the kid cares. I wish 3/4 of the rest of the team and ANY of the students cared this much. Hopefully coach Bowden isn't too hard on him.
  7. It was one game......that does not end a chance to get an at large bid. A run in the tournament tomorrow erases a lot.
  8. I am heading over to tailgate. What is the ticket situation for the game? Will it be a problem to get a ticket there tomorrow? I would normally say no, but who knows now that they are winning?
  9. How do you figure that we will compete with the best teams in the Mac by 2014? We have no talent now and this incoming class looks horrible. I don t see where the talent is coming from in order to play with the best by 2014.
  10. I don't think anyone is blaming Williams, but you are right about one thing....receivers are not getting separation like they were earlier in the season. I also believe this is a reason to try Pohl. The tighter defenses have really shown how weak of an arm Williams has. He really struggles to make many of the throws, especially when he has to get the ball down field in to tight coverage. Chisholm didn't play much because he was hurt. He hurt his left arm in the first half and was in street clothes before the game was over.
  11. I think that I have seen enough and our record and offensive output recently supports my argument. It is time to put Kyle Pohl in the games and get him ready for next year.
  12. He does not even remotely have the arm to play in the nfl.
  13. This is a very key question. I have a feeling that coach Bowden will try to go as heavy as he can on the one year guys once again. I may be wrong, but I am not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about recruiting this year. The last few verbals we have gotten arent even mentioned in any recruiting databases. I have also been reading about every recruit we have offered and there aren't too many that seem interested. We need to chalk up some wins in order to start building our depth from quality high school talent.
  14. I am beyond sick of this $hit.
  15. Tyler Williams!! I have been waiting for him to make a big play!
  16. That score was huge. We need a great drive and score to start the 2nd half.
  17. Pathetic. This is starting to look like Rob ianello's team. Everyone is absolutely clueless.
  18. Talent and depth is obviously an issue on defense. However, the offense was averaging close to 40 a game. That is not a lack of talent. Our offense had 280 yards of offense in the first half and then had a whopping 36 yards in the 2nd half and put up a big goose egg on the scoreboard. Please explain to me how that is not being out coached?
  19. When u go from 10-0 to 24-10 that is being out coached....depth is just an excuse.
  20. I agree... This is the 3rd or 4th game in a row where we lost because we were out coached in the 2nd half.
  21. We flat got out coached in the 2nd half.
  22. This has what to do with urban Meyer? Urban didn't even recruit cardale jones. Besides, if you think that he is the only guy playing college football that feels this way you are dead wrong. Half of these guys think they are going to the pros so they couldn't care less about school.
  23. Sounds like a movie script.
  24. I will drink a Stein in lot 9 if your score holds true.
  25. It was an inside joke....the person it was meant for didnt answer.
