I agree. It is about supporting the players, not the players supporting us drinking beer and eating in the parking lot.

I am not second guessing at all. I totally trust coach Bowden. Obviously, coach Bowden would prefer to take as many talented high school kids as possible. My point was that it seems like we aren't getting enough of those type kids YET, so he is filling those holes with juco's. I read all of the recruiting sites and I don't see many kids with Akron on their top priority list. I am sure this will change in the next year or so when kids see the wins and the gaudy offensive stats.

And we are also getting valuable playing time from freshman like Andrew Pratt, Conner Hundley, Amani Davis, etc.... I have no problem with picking up a few juco guys, I just hope it isn't the bulk of our classes. We need to start building depth by getting freshman in here.

That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy for how recruiting is going.

We had a phenomenal time in Knoxville and we couldn't have been treated nicer. I had quite a few fans ask if we were having a good time and they wanted to double check that everyone was treating us well. I got a nice tour of the school from an alumni. He was beaming with pride showing off his university and rightly so. I enjoyed the tour. I was also impressed with the renovations of neyland. It is a beautiful place and it is enormous. I plan on coming down again for a Florida, bama or Georgia game in the future, especially since I now have some vol contacts asking us to come back down. Good luck the rest of the season.

Terry should have the guys in top form by mid october. I would love nothing better than to ruin their perfect season. That is the type of win we really need to get the fans to buy in. Hopefully they sneak into the top 25 before we play them.

So you will be happy if we go 1-11, but lose every game 41-38? Don't get me wrong....I like being competitive, but losing fun games doesn't make better recruits come here. We need to win.

A loss is a loss. O-2 is exactly like last year. Our offense looks way better, but this defense is pathetic.

This guy is a plodder....our defense is just that slow and bad.

Yeah, OSU has been playing like they are dis-interested for a majority of this game. Still....impressed with how physical of a team UCF is for a CUSA team. Don't know why, but I am having a good feeling about the game tonight. I think we shore up a lot of issues that plagued us last week.

UCF seems to be focusing much more on their week 2 game in Columbus. That is good news for us.

We are not devoid of talent. It was coaching, pure and simple. Look no further than Ohio State last year. Tressel is removed and they put a clueless first year coach in his place. What happened? A 5 win season and the national media saying that they just "didnt have the talent". Really? Stupid coaches can make really good players look like they have no talent. I am pretty optimistic that we are in better shape than most people think.

Even with Bowden we are struggling with getting the local kids due to the poor reputation locally of the football program. A successful season should help change that in short order.

I haven't heard much of anything about Tyler Williams. That really surprises me.

I will go with 25,000. For some reason I think Bowden used his sales skills to get people out to this first game. Attendance will be back to normal after week 4 and our 1-3 start.

Maybe he was all hype? Not all recruits pan out.

Malachi Freeman not starting and being placed behind Commack is definitely surprising. Although, the staff has been high on Blake as well so it seems.

I got that impression as well from the Malachi Freeman article where he stated that one of the players on the team told him not to come here if Ianello was still the coach. Once you get players recruiting you to not come to the school you are screwed.

He is one of a number of playmakers that seems to have appeared since last year. I am quietly optimistic that we are overall much more talented than everyone expects.

My group plans on being there at 2pm.

Nobody really has any clue how bad the talent level is on this team. They have been out coached in every game and never put in positions to succeed. The players also despised the previous staff. Positive team morale and excellent coaching can do wonders in the mac.

This kid is a stud. We have never had a linebacker with this level of talent.....assuming he is on par with his pre surgery self.
