Are you watching the Buckeyes play right now? They look horrible. Those "athletes" you speak of aren't very good basketball players. With OSU, you guard the perimeter and you win. It is that easy.

Have you watched OSU play this year? No way would they blow us out. I don't know if we beat them, but it would be a damn good game.

That is good. I listen to WKNR driving to work in the morning and Munch won't even mention Akron. He didn't mention the score until an Akron person called at the break to remind him that Akron beat Eastern Michigan to extend the streak. When he came back from commercial he said "I forgot, but a caller reminded me on break that Akron beat Eastern Michigan last night to extend their nations longest winning streak." Mind you, this was after they discussed OSU's losing streak and then I had to hear a guy call in and sing Carmen Ohio because it was Woody Hayes's 100th birthday. It just makes me shake my head.

Some of comments below the article are ridiculous. Someone suggested that nobody goes to the games because there are no local players. Wow. This isn't high school. This is division 1 college basketball. Does Duke, UNC, Kentucky, etc... only have local players? Ridiculous. The arena isn't filled because the students all grow up Ohio State fans and they couldn't care less about Zips basketball. NE Ohio, including the Akron area, is oblivious to sports at UA. The community simply doesn't have an interest. The only thing that will change it is to continue winning. We need to make runs in the NCAA tourney. We need to do things that make us look relevant on the national scene. Only then will ALUMNI, except for a few idiots like us, raise their children as Akron fans and not OSU fans. We have a pathetic alumni base and we have for decades. This is the reason that the JAR is empty. Akron alums raise Buckeye children, not future Zips fans. I guarantee if we had OSU playing BG tomorrow at the JAR our student section would be PACKED!

I have said it before and I will say it again, Bowden is a smart guy. Our lack of depth on the D line cost us 4 or 5 games last year and this is the key area where Bowden focused with this recruiting class. We lose very little on offense from a year ago, so I don't have concerns when it comes to putting up points. In fact, we should be more talented on the offensive side of the ball with the returning guys we have and a few key newcomers. The key was adding a playmaker or two and some depth to the DL and Bowden without a doubt has done this.

That article definitely doesn't give me a good feeling. You don't often hear someone flat out say "this is a bad class."

The streak will end today. I have never seen a team play so pathetic. You can't do this every game and get away with it. These guys need a reality check and it looks like today is the day.

Hopefully UA puts a link up with the full broadcast so we can see the Q&A portion. I really like the class too, and I really like the fact that a few of the guys that I really liked last year (Mills, etc..) are going to be on the team and that they had a year to mature.

That's about par for the course.

This whole game has had odd lineups to me. I hope to hell they wake up in the 2nd half because this is ugly. It looks we are getting more fans to the games, but this crappy product tonight wont make those newbies come back.

That was a great story. Alberts was my high school basketball coach my junior and senior season. He wasn't joking that he had zip code range.

I was thinking of this myself. I wouldn't be surprised if Deji gets some solid minutes tonight because he is the one guard that we have that is long and athletic enough to stick to Cooper.

I am with you. I don't know how he is making this work, but it is turning out to be one heck of a class. I cant imagine what Bowden will do when we actually have a winning team!

According to Rivals Mykel Traylor-Bennett is only showing interest to us and Can't, but it says that we haven't offered. Who knows?

It is nice to see Bowden address a huge need of ours....the DL. The lack of depth on the DL last year cost us maybe 2 or 3 games.
