  1. MSU would've been on upset alert until the middle of the 3Q in my opinion. We would've found the endzone eventually, and the Irons injury sapped all the energy from the team. With Irons only a Junior and the kid from Oklahoma coming in, I would love to see what Jennings can offer. Not sure Tennessee is the game to do it in, but ce la vie.
  2. All good! Quite frankly I just love that GIF and will find any excuse to use it.
  3. Was that the same field goal that most likely should have never been due to the no-call on the obvious facemask?
  4. Great gesture by the staff and I'm glad someone still appreciates hand-written notes nowadays, unlike Brian Kelly.
  5. I know he was hurt. I was more or less asking what is the story on his injury. Timetable for return?
  6. Where is Chong? These refs have never officiated a blOSU game.
  7. Nanchoff and another assistant came over and showed the ref the replay on the iPad - proceeded to get a yellow card. Haha.
  8. Hate Disney/ESPN, but damn do they offer outstanding services such as ESPN+ for my Akron obsession and Disney+ for my sanity with 2 little girls. Haha
  9. This will be very interesting to see what Campbell does. Prior to Campbell, Iowa State was somewhat like the Nebraska of the Big 12. The Big Ten would be a step up in competition, especially given the Big 12's ever changing landscape over the next few years. It would be similar to going from Toledo to ISU (bigger jump than ISU to Nebraska, but you get the picture). His style fits the Big Ten (big, physical WRs and a solid run game), too. I also saw PJ Fleck as a candidate for the job. Fleck needs to keep his boat docked in Minnesota, in my opinion.
  10. Joe Mo almost letting it slip (again) that most of our roster wasn't even FBS level prior to his arrival. Also, the media is in class every time they talk to Joe Mo. He is a football professor.
  11. Responding to the bold in order... - You're right. It doesn't have a lot to do with it. It also doesn't hurt. My MNF reference was in response to your statement that the MAC should drop one of the most athletically successful programs in the MAC as "progress". Forgive me for viewing attendance at Akron/Buffalo games (mostly basketball with the state of our football program in recent years) vs. Akron/Directional Michigan games as an indicator that getting rid of Buffalo from the MAC would be stupid. - Why not play 2 per year? That's double the chance of having a P5 win that season. - Money is a reason to play 2 P5 schools. We need it. Now, do we need to play 2 upper echelon P5s? Nope, nor am I advocating for that. Give me Northwestern, Nebraska, Rutgers, Virginia, Wake Forest, etc. I'll take 2 of those, and 2 G5s, like I said in my original post. - I watched the game well into the 4th quarter before switching my focus to the Guardians and other college football games. I'm an Akron fan. Win or lose, no matter how bad, I like watching the Zips. - Marshall is in the Sun Belt. This was your statement in an earlier post... "They have grown with the addition of schools....in the sun belt. Get it?" I was directly responding to your geographical argument. Marshall, ODU, and JMU are not in the Sun Belt region, yet the Sun Belt Conference added them. Why? And if your response is "well, they're close enough," then wouldn't WKU and MTSU be close enough for the MAC, while also increasing the level of competition? I really don't understand your argument at all, as you advocated for the MAC to drop Buffalo, yet applauded the Sun Belt for growing. By the way, the Sun Belt Conference will have a bigger media deal than the MAC this next time around because they've added schools that has raised the athletic level of the conference.
  12. I don't care if Joe Carolina draws the connection between Akron - MAC - Khalil Mack - Buffalo. I care that, on primetime NFL games when they do the lineup announcements, there's a "Khalil Mack, University at Buffalo" so when Joe Akron sees Buffalo on the schedule it means a little bit more. Grow from there. Of course it's not the norm. However, East Carolina built their reputation of being Giant Killers by playing P5s regularly. Boise State did the same thing. App State now has 2 of the biggest upsets in college football history, one of which is talked about all the freaking time. In fact, the Sun Belt has 4 wins from what I'm seeing over P5s in the past 2 weeks. How many do they have if they don't play those games? Marshall is in the Sun Belt region? The team that just beat Notre Dame? Old Dominion is in the Sun Belt region? The team that just beat Va Tech? James Madison, where GameDay was just a few years ago? Spoiler alert: they're not in the Sun Belt region yet they were added because of what they provide in athletic competition.
  13. Get rid of the school with the most successful basketball run the MAC has had since 2002 KSUcks & 2012 O-Who? Get rid of the school that produced Khalil Mack, keeping the MAC relevant in terms of NFL talent discussion? App State had 2 games against P5s, and went .500, beating the #6 team in the nation and losing in heartbreaking fashion to UNC. You don't have the opportunity to go .500 against P5 opponents if you don't schedule them. Congrats on beating a FCS school - whoopty freaking do. 1 FCS, 1 money, and 2 G5 isn't a model I exactly want to follow. Give me 2 P5 and 2 G5. Drop the FCS. The Sun Belt is a growing conference because they add schools. Their soccer conference is stellar. Their football & basketball conferences have grown to become better with additions. Period. The MAC should be looking to grow or it's going to die at the DI/FBS level.
  14. This. We were statistically outperforming MSU through a quarter and a half, minus the turnovers. I think we kept out playbook under wraps week 1 and sort of "sandbagged" it. Under Irons, we looked like we'd be in the running to make an appearance in Detroit on Dec. 3rd. I know Undercuffler doesn't have the biggest arm and the coaching staff will switch up the playbook to fit Undercuffler's abilities. However, I was watching him struggle to throw basic out routes. Do you think any of that could've been nerves? Or will his playbook just not have those plays as much?
  15. We had better statistics (outside of the turnover department) than MSU until Irons got hurt. We were moving the ball almost at will, and the defense was getting enough stops that - had Irons been healthy the whole game - would've made it at least interesting come the 3rd and 4th quarters. Instead, once Irons went out, our offense died which forced our defense on the field quite often, which tired them out, which led to a scoreless butt whooping. Captain said it best in different words: we're absolutely screwed without Irons. With Irons, make sure you keep Dec. 3rd free just in case.
  16. Unless they're shooting him up with Michael's Secret Stuff, I didn't see any tools that make me confident he can deliver at the DI level. Teams will be able to stack the box and focus on the run.
  17. Who had 2:45 left in the 3Q for the moment MSU puts in their backups?
  18. I'd be ok seeing what Dijon can offer.
