Baaaadddd interception. Not sure how you don't see the safety help underneath that route.

Quite the adjustment by the coaching staff to switch things up on offense. Wiley needs to actually run, and not putz his way to the hole.

HOOKS TURNED AROUND AND LOOKED FOR THE BALL! PROGRESS!

1. Holy student section, Batman! 2. As an Independent school, why do they have CUSA on their field?

Game 4: Akron ZIPS @ Liberty - Score Prediction (POLL)
Let'sGoZips94 replied to AKSportsFan's topic in Akron Zips Football
Open playbook + Liberty injuries + Liberty overlooking us = Zips win. LET'S GO ZIPS! BEAT LAST CHANCE U EAST CAMPUS! -
This is quite the opportunity to make our mark. Those injuries for Liberty are a massive equalizer.
-
Also keep in mind that JoeMo held the offense back week 1. A simplified offense can make blocking harder; you're not giving as many looks to the defense, so they can more or less pin their ears back. The same thing happened in the Tennessee game, as we let Irons run. The difference is the 2 weeks of actual game play to get more acclimated as an OLine group (and swapping Gary out). Side note: love how analytical this coaching staff is. Utilizing PFF is incredibly nice for promoting the program and showcasing the direction we are headed in. Spoiler alert: that direction is "up"

Quite the confident bunch over at Last Chance U East Coast Hard to blame them, but I would love nothing more than to make a statement with this game that Akron Football is back.

How big is this injury? Check out this article recapping Liberty vs Southern Miss. "What we thought was going to be the Charlie Brewer era at Liberty lasted only nine minutes. Liberty did not move the ball that well on the Golden Eagles during his time. I thought it was from poor play, but sources stated Brewer left with an apparent fracture hand. Johnathan Bennett stepped up and brought spark with the play of his legs. It reminded me a little of the Malik Willis days, but one problem for Bennett was inaccuracy. Bennett was 7/18 for 37 yards and two INT’s which everyone could tell you, that is not getting the job done. The second-string QB’s last play was a pick-six leading to a 10-17 deficit in the fourth quarter. Then out of desperation, Kaidon Salter, the third string comes into the game. Not only did his presence on the field look like he was QB1, but he won the game! He brought the Flames back from deficits of 10-17 and 17-24 in the fourth. He by far was the most accurate QB of the night throwing for 8/13 for 148 yards with two TD’s and one INT. Salter was also effective with his legs rushing for 65 yards and being the leading rusher. All of that in one quarter and 4OT periods is impressive." Also of note, Liberty gave up 252 rush yds on 54 attempts to Southern Miss. Maybe we'll finally be able to run the ball.

Someone call in Alex Abreu for some tips. Too soon?

Looking at Liberty's statistics... - Their QB is a "freshman" transfer from Tennessee, after he was dismissed from Tennessee last year for 2 run-ins with police (looks like they both may have been marijuana related). He was previously a Top 50 prospect when he committed to Tennessee, ranked as the #6 QB in his class by 247 and the #5 prospect in Texas. - Their #1 receiver is a 5'8" presumed burner. He has 15 receptions for 272 yds and 4 TDs. No other receiver has a TD, and the next closest receiver (actually their RB - Dae Dae Hunter) has 8 receptions for 31 yds (2 receivers have 6 receptions for 91 and 88 yds respectively). They have 2 key receivers at 6'3" and 6'4" respectively, so they have size. Our old pal Treon Sibley is also on their roster. - Salter leads the team in rushing with 38 attempts for 216 yds and 2 TDs. Dae Dae Hunter (5'10" 190 lbs) has 38 attempts for 215 yds and 2 TDs. Shedro Louis (5'8" 170 lbs) has 32 attempts for 120 yds and 1 TD. - Their OL looks big and seems to have some experience. No idea how they are at protecting, but Salter is athletic enough to get out of any bad blocking situation. This game should be competitive. A 2-3 score deficit would be understandable and acceptable, but I expect us to be in this game for 3.5-4 quarters.

2023 Outstanding Offers
Let'sGoZips94 replied to catdaddyp's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
Either Candle is in line to leave Toledo and this kid got word, or he's getting P5 looks. -
"Hey Aaron - I know you're a failed, once-promising NFL prospect. I can't imagine how hard that must have been to deal with as you held a clipboard for millions before being offered hundreds of thousands of dollars to hop in the booth to commentate on your safe space - SEC football. Anyways, the SEC isn't everything, bud. The list of non-SEC QBs, even non-P5 QBs, to have more successful football careers than you and countless other SEC/P5 QBs is too long to list. Just keep that in mind before you continue to unprofessionally clamber for a G5 QB to transfer to your beloved SEC or P5 school. Sincerely, Every Zips Fan That Had to Listen to Your Garbage Commentary on Saturday" z.i.P.S. No I didn't send this - I don't have Twitter. Arth's media sessions were like the current Browns regime. Unwilling to answer anything in detail because they're not smart enough to realize the opponents already know their mistakes due to how simple/basic they are. JoeMo knows he's smarter than 99% of the coaches on the opposing sideline, and isn't afraid to actually answer the media's questions.
