That was my guess. His offer(s) are not true athletic scholarships I don't believe (non-FBS/not even sure they're DI/DII). Quite frankly, would love to have him here as a PWO with a chance at a scholly if he develops. His ability to help the WRs room understand Wasel and his tendancies would be a huge asset.
I would assume it's not actually a thumbs down, but rather a misclick or supposed to point down. I wouldn't read much into it. He said he's blessed. That's what really matters.
This has to be an asset. Every football player's dream is to end up in Canton, and to start a career just 20-30 minutes north of Canton is a storybook beginning for those that do.
"Here is Jason Taylor. He played football and basketball for Akron, then had a Hall of Fame career with the Dolphins. It is possible to reach these heights while playing collegiately at Akron."
This kid is going to be good. He reminds me of Pat Mahomes - technique could use some work but overall fluid, athletic, can throw in any arm slot, keeps his eyes down the field, etc.
His mom quoted Bubba Arslanian on Twitter and basically said that if you haven't seen him play, you're missing out, adding that she's stoked to have Jonas be able to play 1 year with him. Adding good families to the eternal Zips family is always good for the program. Wishing Jonas all the best in his Akron career.
He would have to sit out a year if he transferred again, no?
Also, I don't want him gone. Nick Chubb fumbled twice against the Patriots once. It's not like the guy was ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct on the sideline as a backup QB. Fumbles happen. Off-seasons are there to learn and improve upon mistakes.
