If you read the article, it says the MAC is asking the NCAA to allow FBS teams to have one of these joint practices/scrimmages. It says nothing about in-conference only, nor should this be done in-conference. The article cites the NFL, which does not do in-division joint practices. Reading between the lines, this means we will be looking to team up with non-MAC FBS teams. Akron & Pitt, Akron & Ohio State, Akron & West Virginia, Akron & Cincinnati, Akron & Kentucky, Akron & Marshall, Akron & Louisville - these are who come to mind. WKU, Indiana, etc., are a little further away options. Recruiting exposure comes from the articles that are written. "Ohio State set for joint practice with Akron." Get your name out there more and more.

This might make me an ass, but I'm simply assuming this won't be restricted to in-conference teams. The closest school to us is our biggest rival. Do you really foresee Akron & KSUcks doing joint practices? The NFL, to my knowledge, does not do in-division joint practices; teams go outside of their division for these types of practices. This is done for a reason. Akron & Pitt, Akron & Ohio State, Akron & West Virginia, Akron & Cincinnati, Akron & Kentucky, Akron & Marshall, Akron & Louisville - these make more sense. P5s are going to see G5s as a lesser threat in a "scrimmage", and G5s are going to view P5s as better prep.

Since losing to NIU, they've gone 11-1. During that stretch, they've 38.87% 3PT%, and 47.55% overall FG%. They're season averages are 33.9% 3PT% and 44.4% overall FG%. In addition, 4 of those wins included atrocious performances by their opponents (note 3 of them were against Akron, Toledo, OU)... Akron - 35.2 FG%, 16.7% 3PT% EMU - 25.6% FG%, 12.5 3PT% Toledo - 35.5% FG%, 33.3% 3PT% Ohio - 23.1 FG%, 17.9 3PT% Any off nights they've had, aside from the Buffalo game which resulted in a loss, came against the bottom half of the MAC. For whatever reason, they've caught their best opponents during their worst performances. I think Cleveland will neutralize KSUcks.

If it benefits the team and is a contributing factor to a successful season, wouldn't that negate the 4 negatives considering regular season success will be more beneficial for students/fans/community? Furthermore, I'd imagine there is money to be made traveling to P5s for these things, and visibility with recruiting could be a bonus.

KSUcks beat Balls by 11 last night - 93-82. It took 42 pts from Carry and a 17 pt triple double from Jacobs. Really hoping the cavernous Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse cools them off. They're incredibly beatable.

Dawson is easily my second favorite Zip on this team, and one of my all time favorite Zips. The dude embodies every attribute I look for in a basketball player - hustle, heart, desire, determination, effort, etc.

They haven't beaten anyone. If it's an increase number of games, those games have been against garbage competition. These records would warrant a Top 30/40 ranking if they were legitimate, not top 60 ceiling. The MAC blows. I'm hoping we'll prove that on Friday against OU.

Did I miss something? Did the NCAA increase the number of games in a season? These records seem inflated compared to years past. Akron's best teams - AFTER the MAC Tourney - only posted 26-27 wins, with similar loss totals to Toledo/OU/KSUcks.

I'd imagine any negatives would mirror that of joint practices in the NFL. To me, those negatives are minimal.
