  1. That wasn't on purpose with a 6 win season?
  2. Bob Huggins came closer to a NCAA Tourney win than Dambrot ever did.
  3. The MAC is an absolute joke. The IQ behind these selections reflects the IQ required to be a bottom-feeding conference.
  4. Our entire staff is P5 and our transfers this year were P5 heavy. Kids talk. I think we'll be able to beat out the lower echelon SEC/Big Ten schools.
  5. I'll take the over at a 2.5 line. So 2 or less you win, 3 or more I win.
  6. The Dawson family has been good to Zips basketball. Congrats Jordyn!
  7. Excellent questions. I would imagine the bold is very possible.
  8. What a load of crap that quote is. Dambrot is not adverse to questionable grades/ethics. His best team at Akron included Tree, Harney, and Abreu. I can appreciate wanting to run a cleaner program that represents the name on the front of the jersey well, but this is a cop out quote. He even said this is the best team he's had yet, so I'm not sure where the "a lot of coaches will BS you" call out is justified. Duquesne's fan forum is seeing what we saw for years. Dog house coaching style, not a very creative offense, one-dimensional defense, lack of adjustments, etc. They're averaging 64.8 ppg - I don't remember averaging much more than that when he was at Akron. The game has passed Dambrot by and he's struggling to gain any traction to keep up. I can't imagine his system is very fun to play in, and with the Transfer Portal open, guys are no longer "trapped". All of his best players have left. That's not a grades/ethics issue; that's a coaching/system issue. He cashed in on his success at Akron and is making $1M a year to be exposed as a slightly-above-average basketball coach that rode the coattails of LeBron for as long as he could. I'm very thankful for the level at which he raised Akron's program to, but he's not a very good basketball coach; just a slightly above average one.
  9. I'm not sure Oregon State's opinion should hold much weight in the college football world. Can't remember the last time they were relevant. The article even says Tibesar came into one of the worst defensive rosters in the FBS, and it did improve during his first couple of years. I'd imagine COVID complicated and killed momentum for 2020 & 2021. Moorhead hung 38 on Tibesar's replacement, FWIW.
  10. What a screwy format by the Horizon League. Quarterfinals on Thursday at higher seed's arena, then semifinals/finals 4-5 days later in Indy. Hopefully Wright State wins the league. Makes our win against them look even better.
  11. You're right. We should cancel everyone and everything with a 'Z' in their name. It's a good thing Zion Williamson has basically already taken himself out of the NBA. Oh, I'm sorry, Ion Williamson. Let's Go Ips! #CancelTheZ
  12. Lamont is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Congratulations to him!
  13. This is why not scheduling those cupcakes OOC is such a big deal. How much of this is the West being exposed by having to play the East teams more with no divisions?
  14. Anybody who has seen Just Go With It chuckled when they read "Devlin Fieldhouse". 4100 capacity. Surprised they don't have more.
  15. I think the SID is what he was referring to. Marketing at the U is anything but stellar across the board. @fknbufloboDo you have any idea what the "Coming Soon" tweet was about from the other day?
  16. 6'4" 215 lbs dual threat QB out of Choctaw, OK. Nice offer list including VaTech & Tulsa.
  17. Who let Chris Singletary around the program?
  18. Bates had been with WMU basically since 2000. That's a lot of mediocrity to build your career on. Per BobcatAttack, Bates has(had?) a commitment from a Javaughn Hannah for next season. Rivals lists him as a 3*, and the 32nd best SG in the country for his class. His offer list is impressive, although most of the offers came earlier in his high school career. Is Clayton Bates a recruiting sorcerer?
  19. How did this guy get Lamar Norman to Kalamazoo? Does Lamar stay with a new coach or opt to transfer, having to sit out a year in the process?
  20. What makes you say we came out on top? Toth had an impressive resume. Edit: Tibesar coaches TJ Watt at Wisconsin. Per Watt's Wikipedia... In July 2015, Watt was asked by head coach Paul Chryst to switch to a defensive position as a redshirt sophomore.[3] Badgers' outside linebackers coach Tim Tibesar recalled Watt's position change saying, "At that time, even though he was in his third fall at Wisconsin, it was kind of like having a freshman come in. You're trying to teach him for the first time how to play outside 'backer in our system." Per his Oregon State page... Tibesar Notables: 9 Number of years as a defensive coordinator 34-7 Record at Wisconsin during his tenure 2 Number of Big Ten West Division titles at Wisconsin 2 Rank of 2017 Wisconsin defense (2nd, 2015; 7th, 2016) OREGON STATE (2018-Present) • Defense allowed 51.5 fewer passing yards per game in 2020 from 2019 • Avery Roberts (69) and Omar Speights (63) finished first and second in Pac-12 in tackles in 2020. 21. Ohio doesn't have Preston this year, either. That kid was a special talent.
  22. How is a conference commissioner selected? Is it the University presidents that do so? If that's the case, why do MAC school presidents continue to allow this clown Steinbrecher to lead the MAC? He's the MAC's version of Rob Manfred - atrocious.
  23. Nevermind on possibly attending. Since when does the early game on Friday start at 5? I thought that was usually a 6pm start. Come on Zips, make it to Saturday!
  24. What time would Akron play Friday - early game?
