  1. Just thought I'd throw this out there. If butler can have a real bulldog and a fake bulldog for mascots, can we have a real Zippy and a fake Zippy for mascots? That'd be so intimidating. I mean Texas has the bull, so we should get a real kangaroo.
  2. Honestly, how could anyone believe that he would go to the Knicks or Nets? The guy is so focused on winning that he would never go to two of the worst teams int he league and start all over again. Maybe if they signed Kobe, DWade, and a decent big guy first then LeBron would think about it. Basically, you're kidding yourself if you think there is any chance that LeBron will go to either of those two teams. You're also kidding yourself if you think this guy wouldn't win anywhere he goes. What makes you think that's true when he cant even win here? Alway have to be careful saying "he" can't win when it's a team game. One man can't win a title by himself. It takes an above average team to boot. Jordan never won anything without Scottie. Jordan and Pippen were the two best players in the league at the time (or at least the 1st and 3rd best - I could also argue Charles Barkley was the 2nd best). That'd be like having LeBron and Kobe on the same team, or, if you'd want to go 1st and 3rd best, it'd be like having LeBron & D-Wade together. Forget about it. Not only did the Bulls have the two best players in the league, they also always had arguably the 2nd best PF in the league - Charles Oakley, Horace Grant & Dennis Rodman (I'd consider all of them a #2 to Karl Malone). In addition to that they always had an All-Star-caliber PG. In short, the Bulls, as a team, were ridiculously stacked. How'd they ever lose a game? That'd be like the Cavs having: PG - Chauncy Billups (Not the best PG in the league but an all-star caliber player.) SG - Kobe Bryant SF - King James PF - Amare Stoudemire (would you consider him the 2nd or 3rd best PF? If not, insert your own player here.) C - Zydrunas (the Bulls never had a dominate C; just a serviceable 7-footer.) So, needless to say, LeBron is doing WITH A WHOLE LOT LESS. I enjoy & learn a lot from Charles Barkley's observations & comments. A lot of Cleveland fans don't like him, but that's just because he doesn't blow propogandistic smoke for the NBA and tells it like it is. He's been saying for years that the Cavs play WAY TOO SLOW to best utilize LeBron's strengths and that the Cavs would simply suck hard without LBJ. He's right. Could you imagine putting 'Bron on any of these teams?!: LBJ + Boston Celtics = champs LBJ + Toronto Raptors = contenders LBJ + Orlando Magic = champs LBJ + Atlanta Hawks = champs LBJ + Miami Heat = champs LBJ + Charlotte Bobcats = contenders LBJ + Utah Jazz = champs LBJ + Denver Nuggest = champs LBJ + Ok-City Thunder = champs LBJ + Portland Trailblazers = champs LBJ + Phoenix Suns = champs LBJ + LA Lakers = champs LBJ + LA Clippers = contenders LBJ + Dallas Maveriks = champs LBJ + San Antonio Spurs = champs LBJ + Memphis Grizzlies = contenders LBJ + Houston Rockets = contenders LBJ + New Orleans Hornets = contenders There aren't many teams in the league that 'Bron would not instantly make the favorite to win the NBA championship. He is an unprecedented talent. However, the Knicks and Nets happen to be two of the few that are so pathetic not even 'Bron could will & skill them to the front of the line. I couldn't agree more. He hasn't won here and he wont win anywhere else unless he's surrounded by at least one more star and enough above average talent to do it. Jordan definitely had it easier, and you forgot one thing: LBJ + current Cleveland roster = CHAMPS This year they finally have put it together but they still would have a tough time matching up with many variations of Jordan's Bulls. Yup. Jordan's Bulls would expose the Cavs just like the Orlando Magic did last year. LeBron couldn't match up with both Rashard Lewis & Hedo Turkoglu at the same time. Likewise, LBJ wouldn't be able to match up with both Jordan and Pippen at the same time either. It was pick your poison with those guys. I will say this though: If we would've gotten Amar'e instead of Antawn, we would be a much better team.
  3. No doubt he'll win. He's just that good. The question is, will he have the help to win a championship?
  4. He's not going.
  5. I really like this. At first, I was thinking to myself "this is going to ruin conferences", but when you think about it, it actually helps conferences. It's going to make for a more exciting tourney. The winner will truly be the best team. There's going to be more upsets and exciting games. The best part is going to be when Can't State gets left out!
  6. Late second round at best. Probably undrafted.
  7. Already have. Go Zips!
  8. Eg-tastic! Henninger, I'm now your #1 hater. Egner will shut you down!
  9. I was reading an article the other day about JJ Hickson of the Cavs. They said that at NC State, they described him as a man among boys. Egner seems to fit that description at the high school level at least. Bring home that state trophy Josh. Next year, you'll have a chance to kiss the MAC Championship trophy.
  10. Honestly, I think we might have a chance. That is, if Euton can help us out and talk to him. This guy sounds solid. Nice guard height. Great teams looking at him. This could be interesting.
  11. I hope they hire Hipsher just so we can get on him.
  12. It would've been interesting to see what he could've done here last year...
  13. I love the idea of the JUCO PG. I think we will see this new guy, Humpty, and Ronnie at the PG with Drob and McNeese at the 2 guard. I think Egner will be our 3. He seems like a Jordan Crawford type of player. Our biggest need is a scorer/playmaker.
  14. Anything that bashes Can't State is cool with me.
  15. They are in the Horizon League. That SCREAMS mid-major.
  16. agreed. besides to be the best you have to beat the best, everone complains about playing a mediocre scedule, why would we want to add another mediocre team into the equation Because it's one of our rivals and we have to play them no matter what.
  17. I was actually reasonably impressed with the way DeVaughn Washington (6-8, 225 lbs) performed this year -- 50% from the field, 70% on free throws, 11 points and 5 rebounds per game. He's not a dominator, but I think he will give Ohio a decent inside presence next year in his senior season. No doubt Washington is good inside, but my point was, Zeke tops him in height by 4 inches. Unless he can get bigger and stronger, he's going to have a tough time with players that are 2-4 inches taller than him and his size.
  18. So Armon might split early for Europe. Personally, I would be surprised to see him leave. It just seems to good to be true. Bassett leaving would, IMO, make Akron the MAC favorite again next year. Agreed. Cooper is good, but let's be honest. Having a partner like Basset really helps you. Plus, they don't have any big men. If he leaves, it's going to be interesting.
  19. I saw him at the CBI game and thought he was Nik's brother.
  20. He just creeps me out. Period.
  21. I'm a kid. I'll savor my childhood and hate everyone I want.
  22. I've been saying this since the MAC Championship game: OU vs. Akron in the MAC Championship game for a few years to come.
  23. It's funny how people screamed for athleticism after we lost to K.e.n.t. I said we need guys that can flat-out ball. Now we lose to a very earth-bound, slow, mediocre mid-major at home, and it is proven again - we need guys that can ball. We have a bunch of role players. We have no bad-ass MFer's that can flat-out ball. We can't even defend anymore. If Euton, Egner or Green can shoot, I'd give them 30 minutes/game next year, right off the bat. If they can hold an opposing guard under 30 points, I'd give them 40 minutes per game. And if they can do both, by my calculations (yes, I'm going to go to Akron, not Can't, so I can count), they should get 70 min!
