To me, this game put the final nail in the coffin for this coaching staff. The nail isn't pounded all the way in, but I feel like the program has regressed in the last couple of years. The discipline on the team is nonexistent, and the talent/player development just isn't there. We consistently look smaller and slower at positions we need to be bigger and faster at. Additionally, I want nothing to do with Milwee. He makes the offensive side of football look harder than it is. Bubble screens do not work when you're blocking with WRs that are sub-6'.

Common sense has been proven to be absent when scheduling Zips athletic events, evident by making the time of yesterday's game against Arkansas Pine Bluff the same time as Oklahoma/OSUcks. Holy crap! If that's true, that's insane because he could already jump out of the gym last year.

Not sure where you're getting 0-3 from. If you play 2 P5 schools, bank a couple million, then play a mid major, you should be 1-2. If you lose and you're 0-3, well, then you made a couple million at least. And no, I don't think we would be hurting ourselves to schedule an extra P5 pay game. In fact, I think we'd be helping ourselves in recruiting. Who would kids rather play: UAPB or a P5 school? I would hope the kids you are recruiting would like the chance to knock off Goliath as a David. Law of averages says if you play P5 teams enough, eventually you'll win one. And I have no problem whoring ourselves out to remain fiscally capable of having a D1 football program.

Speaking of which, is it counterproductive to get paid by PSU only to turn around and pay UAPB?

I don't think people are getting worked up. I think people are pointing out the crap we're sick of seeing - i.e. pathetic offensive play calling by Milwee. Woodson doesn't look good. Defense has had its faults, but really hasn't been AWFUL (aided by some drops; as I'm typing this, Saquon just broke one off). Ball looks decent when given the opportunity.

What separates the schedule is the winning records by the 3 other mid-major opponents.

I love it. I don't think any of us ever wanted or expected a Charlie Coles schedule during the Dambrot era. All we wanted was, if you're gonna schedule mid-majors, make sure the mid-majors are worth a damn. Love the UT Martin, UT Chattanooga, and IPFW games. All 3 teams had winning records last year.

LOVE the new video board. I wonder if someone from the University was able to get in touch with the person who designed the Q video board. This looks to be a miniature version, and a darn good lookin' one at that. I wonder if the ultimate plan IS to remove the end line ribbon boards, especially on the North end, and extend those seats all the way up? The JAR has a formidable shell for a fun and electric college basketball environment. If this is the path they choose, renovating the JAR instead of going with a new arena, I'm all for it as long as it's done properly. With the Pro Football Hall of Fame project expanding to the new convention center, I don't think it would make sense for the city of Akron to build a multi-purpose arena. I like what I'm seeing so far, and I hope they keep it up!

Akron. Between the tournament (USC guaranteed), Dayton, Marshall, and whomever else we add, it's gonna be a pretty solid OOC schedule for Akron. Two things with Duquesne and their schedule... - Dambrot is now in the A10, which means to get to 20 wins he's gonna need cupcakes in the OOC portion of the season. - We'll see if the "poison" that hindered Akron's Strength of Schedule and ability to schedule tougher teams, is still in Akron, or if it traveled to Pittsburgh.

I see what you did there. Although, in all seriousness, we might see OSUcks on our schedule in years to come. Not sure what the relationship is like between Holtmann and Groce, but there's definitely a history there.

Is there any talk about expanding the NEO Coaches vs. Cancer Classic field? I understand those are the only 4 premier DI schools in NEO, but how many years of switching between CSU and YSU are we going to have to endure? I'd like to see the field expanded to include Wright State and Dayton. I would LOVE to see Cincy, Xavier, and OSUcks get in on the Ohio action, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

You're gonna have to do better than that. My BS Meter is off the charts with this one. It seems to be in sync with our toxicity level. Or is Duquesne the toxic team now?
