  1. Predictable game. Lots of heart and effort by Duquesne, only to shoot themselves in the foot, peeing away a double digit lead, and ultimately losing in heartbreaking fashion. The A10 is most certainly down this year.
  2. Not to mention the following... 2011(?) Finals against Can't, where it took OT AND 2 block shots on KSU's final possession (one by Zeke, one by McNees) to win. 2009(?) first round (this was the year they played all the games at the Q) against Toledo, with a 3 by Humpty Hitchens to tie it (to send it to OT maybe?), and a Brett McKnight alley-oop lay-in to win it. We went on to win the title that year. 4 tournament games in 5 days I believe. 2008 against OU at the JAR. Linhart's reach-back-rebound-and-put-back to go ahead, leaving just enough time for Bubba Walther to come down and flop on his head. 2007(?) at Can't with LeBron in attendance. I believe we beat them in OT. I forget if it was Dials or Romeo Travis who hit the game winning shot or free throws, but that was crazy. Similarly as crazy was the game where Singletary (.13) punched Linhart and was ejected less than a minute into the game. I can't believe we still lost that. VCU and ranked Nevada, those were great games that ended in losses (damn free throws). We have definitely witnessed some crazy basketball games. Edit: Just realized you already referenced the 2011 game. My bad.
  3. The clock at least started properly for Ivey, correct?
  4. There were players in this game? I thought I was only supposed to notice the zebras?
  5. THAT'S A FREAKING CHARGE!
  6. That's an and-1 for I've. Unbelievable how poor the refs are.
  7. This loss is on Utomi and the refs.
  8. How is that a foul on Cotton?!
  9. Currently sitting here with a fork and a knife ready to eat my crow.
  10. Admittedly when I posted that, I didn't realize he had around 30 pts. However, between some of his dumb passes, bone headed fouls, and then the missed dunk right there, that's what I'm talking about. He takes away from his productivity. Did it a bit in the OU game too. Just frustrating at times.
  11. What a crap call. The refs have been atrocious yet again. OT with Sellers out for them, Duvivier out for us.
  12. Ivey has to find a way to quit neutralizing his positive impact on games.
  13. I'm not impressed with Buffalo. They're a good team, but far from unbeatable. OU is just plain bad. Their mental errors at the end of the game were head-scratching to say the least.
  14. So what you're telling me is all this time we've been blaming the destruction of the football program and poor attendance on Ianello, when it was possibly related to Segway-Gate?
  15. What is your Segway-riding ability like?
  16. I definitely think he and Dru should have their jerseys retired. They were the foundation for what Akron basketball has become.
  17. Nothing beats a couple of them infiltrating the Can't State student section to give them a sign to hold up to the Rowdies that made the trip to that craphole. The sign said, "WE SUCK".
  18. I believe it was Groce, when he was at OU, who broke a clipboard during a game against Akron. He also HATED the AK Rowdies (our once proud student section). PJ Fleck rowed WMU's football boat all the way to the Cotton Bowl. Groce can use whatever "Grocisms" he wants if he gets us NCAA tournament wins.
  19. Congratulations to James Howard Thome! My favorite player of all time.
  20. Their biggest mistake came prior to that. Groce had the stones to play Ivey & Duvivier for the final, what, 8-9 minutes with 4 fouls each (heck of a coaching decision by the way)? OU lacked the game plan to target both Ivey & Duvivier to foul them out of the game (ultimately Ivey's dribbling error led to Duvivier fouling out). If they would have eliminated Ivey, too, they wouldn't have had to worry about him in the final minute or so.
  21. Pumping schmumping. Nobody can rain on my parade. I'm having fun watching fundamentally-improved, competitive basketball with a hodgepodge roster of young kids that play hard and have us above .500 overall and 3-4 in the MAC (with pretty much the rest of the conference), including a win against one of our biggest rivals - O-Who. Nobody is mentioning the Sweet 16 this year, but there is excitement and optimism, with the floor for this program rising with each game. The roller coaster reactions are probably due to the lack of experience with this team. We don't know if the negatives in the losses are the norm, or if the positives in the wins are the norm. Go Zips!
  22. Reading BobcatAttack in full meltdown mode is beautiful, comforting, and promising. They are at a loss at what to do with their basketball program, and are in full-blown fear mode of Groce at the helm of the Zips. They know Groce's ceiling, and I think they expected his starting floor at Akron to be much lower. We are 10-9, 3-4 in the MAC (tied for 4th or 5th, however that cluster reads. We have 1 junior and 1 graduate student playing right now, with the rest being underclassmen. Heck, we even have a guy we found in the Rec Center getting playing time in crunch time. We have 2 bigs out, only one of which we're getting back this season, and 3 solid transfers waiting on the end of the bench. And we just beat OU in the middle of their coach's 4th season in the position. This is fun. Go Zips!
  23. I think he's the #1 candidate for a redshirt next year. We all have to keep in mind that these results (the last two have been Ws) are without Poke & Sayles. Once we get Sayles back, we really could be firing on all cylinders.
  24. Kostelac was the MVP for me. Heck of a game. Great crowd and the players fed off of it. That was fun.
  25. Ivey has neutralized his positive moments in this game with some boneheaded plays.
