I'll tell you what, I love this announcer for VT. He's hilarious. He keeps talking about the weather and says, "If you like the metric system...," then starts saying the weather in terms of the metric system. Once Gavin scored the PK, he said, "Game, set, match." Very fun announcer. And props to VT, they still aren't letting up.

The stupid tracker still had it at 1-1 when he scored a goal, so yes I was VERY upset (finally decided to keep up and add Kofi's score, then 26 seconds later, Teal's goal).

If everyone can stay healthy, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Akron gets ranked at one point during the season. We have the talent, depth, and height this year. GO ZIPS!

I also feel the play calling was bad. Rogers isn't the QB you call most of those plays for, and I don't think he was comfortable with it. We'll see as the year goes on, but let's just hope Akron can recover and beat CMU.On a positive note we scored 3 TDs and

I never said anything about CJ not being able to get the job done this year, all I meant to do was say that I think we need to find a better QB for the years to come. The Zips had their moments yesterday, they looked pretty decent against a top 10 team.

I just watched BYU knock off #3 Oklahoma. Max Hall had an unbelievable drive, 70+ yards and it lead to a touchdown. BYU has had some great QB's in the past couple years: Max Hall, John Beck, etc.... Nearly EVERY year they are competing and knocking off BCS schools. Same thing with all these great teams having great QB's: Florida- Tim Tebow, OU- Sam Bradford, Texas- Colt McCoy, and others. All of these QB's have smarts. The smarts allow them to use their arm, or their speed, or their accuracy correctly. No, this is not a JD or Jacquemain bashing thread. I respect and appreciate all they do. I just think it's time to get a true QB. Football is becoming more about speed again, even though size helps. OSUcks has Pryor, Penn State has Clark, and Florida has Tebow. Speed isn't everything and Bradford and McCoy are showing that also. Jacquemain doesn't have the smarts these guys have, he doesn't have the speed or arm they have. I know we aren't recruiting on the same level as these schools, but I think we can do better than what we have.Now I would like to see what Jacquemain can do this year, because I do think he has improved, but for the future, it would be nice to know who our QB is for 4 years. Now let's go ZIPS! Fix everything that needs to be fixed and take care of Morgan State.

My family and I talked to a few players and one of them mentioned that they were looking at a few other schools including OU, but that Akron's campus was nicer and easier to get around (OU is apparently too spaced out). He also mentioned the stadium was a big factor in his decision. GREAT job today though. VERY impressed with the stadium and how the event was run. It was fun just to walk around and the fact that they let you walk on the field was awesome. PUMPED FOR THE MORGAN STATE GAME! GO ZIPS!!!!

I say build it in Memorial's/JAR's place; keep everything on campus, make it look like a TRUE college campus. If you want to make it bigger and use it for more things, place it somewhere with space, but keep it still close to campus. Just my $0.02.

Maybe they could use some of the Michigan NCAA Tourney footage/pictures. Or work their way up from the coaches and moments and then get to Dambrot and show possibly last years tourney game. They should also use the song that the MAC used to show all the MACC memorable moments (sorry I forget the name). Just adding on to your suggestion, but you have to have, somewhere in there, WE ARE

I was just thinking the same thing.

I said "other". I want Hunter, but I think we should look around for an experienced AD. I don't want the next "rising star" because they could just be using us as a stepping stone then jump ship for another bigger college. If we can't find anyone with experience and that will stay, I like Hunter.

My requirements are simple:1. If they are doing a good job, they stay at Akron2. They need experience in the AD field.
