  1. I would be surprised if anyone left. If the staff and seniors, especially Zemanski, are doing their job, they'd be telling everyone that there's unfinished business and to stay. Plus, with Porter coaching Akron for at least 5 more years, we're golden. The recruits will come, and we could we in the early stages of a dynasty.
  2. OMG! Makes me :puke: :puke: and then :wall: :wall: and then !
  3. This happened to UNC, too. They went into PKs with NCST in the ACC semis and it counted as a tie, but they lost, so technically, they now have 4 losses. Does this effect our NCAA history record?
  4. :NCAAC: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M LOSING MY VOICE AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WOOOOHOOO! FEAR THE ROO ACC!
  5. Imagine the recruiting advantage that MLS team would have. They'd have one of the top, if not the top program in the NCAA right down the road. They'd also have other top teams coming in to Akron to play UA which is another recruiting tool. I hate soccer (too boring, but Akron soccer is fun because of all the action), but a MLS team might be fun to have. I guess I'm for this!
  6. That was a cool comparison. My favorite part...Last Loss: Akron - none
  7. +1
  8. Come on UCLA, I DON'T want 3 ACC teams in the Final Four.
  9. The NCAA also said the Rowdies couldn't have those little plastic megaphones. Oh well, let's show em all up in Carry!
  10. That was a fun read. Good luck Zips!
  11. Not to mention missed opportunities with shots and such.
  12. Virginia scares me. They have an offense. Hopefully either Wake or UCLA can knock them off for us. Tomorrow is going to be a GREAT game. I am so pumped.
  13. Thank you, thank you. This game will be fun. Should be a packed house again. I'M SO PUMPED!
  14. This interests me. I like this.
  15. That's the thing, the only thing attractive about this job is the money and its the MLS. I think Porter loves the NCAA. I think he also loves being at Akron. He has the Rowdies, a new stadium coming soon, the #1 team in the nation, and soccer is becoming huge at Akron. I hope nothing is to come of this but a mention. Let's keep Porter and become a dynasty.
  16. After the Pine Bluff game, Humpty ran over to tell the coach he was sorry when one of their players shoved him away. KD told Humpty to tell the coach he was sorry, so that's all he was doing. The AD ran into the locker room and that's when KD told him what happened. Humpty did almost get into another little altercation with one of Niagara's players. IMO, it was a great game. The only thing I didn't understand was why didn't Zeke get the ball more down low? He had at least a good 3 inches on whoever guarded him. He had pretty good position, too. Great game over all though for the entire team.
  17. I found some references to schools that turned him down, but not to schools that he turned down. Do you have any specifics on that?In any case, if we are talking the amount of money it would take to get him to UA, that opens a whole new world of potential coaches who would consider UA for the big bucks. But why even consider a big bucks coach if UA doesn't have big bucks to offer? Is this discussion realistic or pie in the sky? That's the conundrum. Either you spend the big bucks and upgrade the candidate pool, or hope you find a diamond n the rough that doesn't mind being payed peanuts for a few years. You want to tell the MAC that you're ready to leapfrog them permanently, you spend the money like Temple and Ohio are doing. You want to stay in the MAC and risk everything that the stadium is supposed to bring just to save a few bucks in the near term, then put away the wallets.I'm all for upgrading our pool of candidates, but let's get this soccer team hooked up first. Spend what you can to get the best coach for that money, but get the soccer team and Porter a new stadium. However, if you have enough money for both, then by all means use it. Let's just keep the soccer team happy while getting this football team back on track at a reasonable price.
  18. I like it. Only one thing is you could possibly move Miami up to 3 or 2. Coles knows how to coach and they are in every game (usually). The MAC is going to be tight this year IMO. It's going to be fun.
  19. That loss was bad though considering we were up by 15 with around 7 minutes to go. Oh well, they seem to be getting in the groove again.
  20. If I'm not mistaken, the Broncos used our practice facility when it was new.
  21. They are consistently good against the top teams, but consistently inconsistent (as my dad would put it) against the average ones.
  22. Zeke with a quadruple double. Zips 69Peay 2 (one of Zeke's blocks hits their players on the head and goes in, I guess we'll give them that)
  23. oh wow... hahaha all i can say is, it wouldn't be good for the goalie.
  24. I think this team has the talent. Is there room for an improvement in talent? No doubt. IMO, the 2 things that need the most improvement going into next season are:1) Toughness- Physically and mentally. If their QB is running, hit him (cleanly) with all you have. 2) Coaching/preparation- I think we need a new system in place with the new stadium and basically new team. I'm liking what I'm seeing overall though. Nicely looks like a true freshman, but he's very intelligent for a true freshman. Wagner is a very talented LB. I love college football, but the Zips really need to start doing something.
