  1. That was the most heart and desire I have seen the team play with since Can't State. GREAT game. Zeke shut Jarrod Jones DOWN. Very impressed with his defense. All the Zips have to do is hit the streak at the right time, just like the '09 season, and they are golden. Go Zips!
  2. I hate LeBron.
  3. I don't know if you can ask yourself this question and not think about the 2009 team. I honestly think that the 2009 team would've won the National Championship game if Nano and Ampai would've been healthy. That being said, they didn't lose a game or tie (until the championship). I think the 2009 team was better than the 2010 team, but the 2010 team beats almost any other team in the history of college soccer.
  4. Very enthusiastic fans they've got.
  5. I wonder if one of the better sells for iCan'tCoach is that, given the state of the program, there really isn't a safe job and almost anyone can come in and make an impact.
  6. Hahaha! That's SO nasty! You see high school football players put on an SEC school's hat or another BCS school. Well in soccer, you see the players putting on an AKRON hat. Yeah, This IS Akron, and I'm proud of it!
  7. Wiz Khalifa is going to be singing a new tune after this Super Bowl. Yeah, uh huh. You know what it is. GREEN AND YELLOW GREEN AND YELLOW! Go Packers!
  8. I honestly don't think people understand the true definition of a front runner.
  9. The Akron coaches know about him. He goes, or used to go, to the Akron summer basketball camps for kids. I was on his 3 on 3 team. He and I did pretty well if I do say so myself (I think we won the 3 on 3 tourney that year). Haha. His skills from what I remember from back then were REALLY raw. There was an article in the ABJ about him yesterday. It said he has since then worked on his game a tremendous amount. Sounds like something clicked.
  10. I honestly don't think we'll be down much at all. How many bench players were subbed in during the season? LOTS. How many contributed? A few, but more will be given the chance. One thing I do know is Gabe Genovesi is possibly one of the fastest players in the NATION. He apparently holds the Wisconsin state record for the 400. I don't know how Porter intends to use that speed, but him and Mattocks up front would go well with some through balls. He's also 6'2". With Mattocks, Speas, Caldwell, Meves, Barson, Brenes, and Stevenson returning, along with the recruits and transfers we'll get, I'm expecting another championship; I'm sure Porter is also. Go Zips!
  11. UCSB. I think we all know why. Too bad they are a home team.
  12. +1 However, the goals are the same size, the ball is the same, and there's a goalie in the goal for both leagues. Agreed ,but I presume that the level of play would be different. Oh, yea, for sure. Especially with the schedule we play.
  13. +1 However, the goals are the same size, the ball is the same, and there's a goalie in the goal for both leagues.
  14. O-Who is the best team in the MAC again. Kellog is like an Armon Bassett, but maybe even a better shooter. He was a zero against Miami, but he lit us up for 23 points tonight. Cooper is still amazing, even withouth Armon. Freeman hurt us. On the other side of the ball, Akron was awful. I can't even go into details. The only good thing about this team right now is Abreu. That guy is the best player on the team. He's a true floor general. I left with 5 min to go. I don't know if I've ever left early from a game before. Pitiful. :puke: :puke: :puke:
  15. I HATE that kid. I see him at every Can't vs. Akron game or any Can't game for that matter. I blame his parents.
  16. +1 Totally agree. It's disappointing that it basically took the whole OOC schedule for the team to gel, but I think things are coming together very nicely. Everyone's developed well.
  17. That landscaping exists because they ran into sandstone while digging in the northwest corner. It would be difficult to cut through the bedrock to put something else there. Pouring concrete over it would result in a situation like the Rubber Bowl where water gets in there and eats away at the base. I think platforms could be put up over top of them to provide more room to stand. Why build more platforms so that security can have more areas to yell at the few paying fans at the game to get behind the line. The security is a little too rough on where people can stand. +1 Security is WAY too tough. As for my change, I would like to build stands on both sides so a retractable roof can be built.
  18. Who's ready to go see the buckeyes? Go see the Suckeyes lose? ME!
  19. Cleveland's hosting some of it this year?!? Awesome!
  20. I don't see this game being much different from the Can't game besides the score. I don't think O-Who is all they are cracked up to be. Cooper is good, but he's nowhere NEAR where he was last year with Bassett at his side. Gameplan: I would have to say put Diggs on Cooper, but if you don't want to do that, put him on Freeman. Freeman needs to be glued to. If you watched the game against Miami (OH) the other day, Freeman was why that game was as close as it was. He nailed his 3's. Also, if I remember correctly he killed us in the MACC last year. YOU HAVE TO GET THE BALL TO ZEKE AGAINST THESE GUYS! Miami pounded it down low and three O-Who players fouled out including Washington and Keely. Prediction: Akron 74 Bobkitties 61 Zeke with a double double again, Abreu with multiple assists and steals, Diggs with some athletic plays, and Brett McKnight lights them up.
  21. Not if Chip Kelly is coaching. He just cost the Ducks a national championship. Sad thing is, iCan'tCoach is way worse. However, with the right personnel, anything will work in the MAC with how awful it is.
  22. I would've stayed at Stanford. You have Andrew Luck returning, you're at a great school with lots of money, and next year you have another chance at a national title. Plus, the 49ers aren't exactly the "dream" job in the NFL right now.
  23. I have the Ducks. I don't think Auburn is as good as the SEC has to offer on defense; they may be the best offensive team in the SEC, but not defensively IMO. LaMichael James it the quickest, fastest, and most explosive little running back in the nation. Oregon's offensive tempo will give Auburn some problems. I also hope one of the fast defensive players for Oregon blitzes and DESTROYS SCam Newton. I hope the money his "dad" got gets used for medical reasons, but that he can still finish the game and lose.
  24. Was surprised to see him in there as much as he was. Yes it was disappointing not to have a chance to get Egner involved, but at least he wasn't exposed like his former HS teammate was. Defensively, there is NO way he could stay with either Nik or Brett. And we thought Euton's 3-pt shooting style was a little unorthodox. I know it's early, but I think Egner looks to be the far better prospect for college ball. He sure has the smarts; he chose Akron.
