Groce wanted 50 3P attempts.

Good news is the rebounding effort has been 10x better since the SMC game.

With today's game against Omaha in the books, the Zips currently rank 23rd in the country in possessions per game. Every single one of their games has hit the over. The offense is on a torrid pace, and will only get more efficient as the chemistry & confidence builds. Groce maintained the barn that housed our Thoroughbred these last few years, but seems to have found a more full stable of horses this year.

If Tavari is gonna set the record for blocked layups, Nate is in a similar track for missed dunks.

It's going to take people a bit to realize this is a new DePaul under Holtmann. Nobody should forget it's the same old NIU.

I know it's Omaha and Joe Akron won't think much of that win, but that was a good win.

Some observations as we wind down this game. - Hardman in during crunch time. - No MMK this game? - Very little Young compared to recent games

Props to Omaha on keeping up. Hopefully we fix some of the defensive flaws and keep knocking down shots in the 2nd half. This is a good "tournament" for us. We're able to work on some things while also playing competitive DI squads.

I've thought the same thing. Then I watched him get outrebounded by a ton during the SMC game and I think the ghosts have mostly disappeared. 🤣

The hypothetical "what if" game is for ratings/social media views IMO. It is a nice speculative conversation, but it doesn't serve the system. Boise State should arguably be ahead of every team except Oregon and Ohio State. 11-1 should be rewarded, not punished. Would hate to see FSU 2.0.

Gray's worst part of his game was 3P shooting. If he's knocking em down, look out. He has MAC POTY written all over him.

Ole Miss going down helps them. Georgia looking like poop vs UMass helps them. If a school beats everyone on their schedule except the #2 team in the country, they should be in. Can't help the rankings of the others on your schedule.

Not sure if anyone watching caught this, but Indiana has a DL transfer from Kent State (West is his name I think). The announcers said he has to work extremely hard academically to either become eligible or get into IU. Joke of a school we have to our east. Thank goodness we are up wind from them.

Taught my kids the Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers chant just to solidify their hatred of Ohio State. Household philosophy. Our 3 favorite teams are Akron and whomever is playing Kent and Ohio State.

How are you going to host a tournament and not stream all the games? Bad job out of Akron.

Tavari's decision making is still wildly questionable. I'm more comfortable with Sharron Young as a freshman, and that's as much an indictment on Tavari as it is a compliment for Young. Harris needs to ice his lower back for the quick turnaround tomorrow.

I loved the flex demonstration by the ref. It all made sense to me after that. 😂
