i watched the game on tv.the catch was clearly a td in the end zone.it was not even close.should have never came to being in the first place.even both espn announcers said it was a td catch.i give the replay guy credit for making the right call.

the game was ugly, but our kicking game came through.considering the defense was on the field the almost the entire game they played great.i think they were just really tired at the end of the fourth qtr.i just kan't understand what happened to the running game.the dropped passed also hurt us.jac still forced alott of passes that cost us also.akron had to win this game to stay in the mac race,and we did.after seeing how bad we played on the offense there are no easy wins on the schedule.if they can beat bg they a few weeks off,and get some guys healthy.

jd was trying to sneak sparks in the game for a hb-pass.lol. if johnson cannot come back then jd needs to play torrence.the zips have a few weeks off after the bg game to get healthy.hopefully johnson can come back this season.i hate to see somebody's carrer ended short by injury in his last year.

the only spot that concerns me is point guard.i trust in kd if he says we will be ok at the point.we can move mc neese over to the two spot.our front line should be fine.this will be an interesting year.after that we bring in the highest ranked playerprobably in mac history.the mac better get akron this year because after that mac teams or going to be in trouble.

you guys make great points.if torrence is the best back then get him on the field.there is seven games left on the season.if you don't play him then what about next year? you would have nobody with any experience coming back at rb.nobody knows about allen yet.if he is ready to play play him.jd needs to win games now,and forget about next year.the only other option is to put williams at rb.

i thought our d-line played well yesterday.i wish we would scrap the 3-3-5,but we are stuck with it.i don't ubndersatnd why we don't blitz more.there is no way you can rush three guys to get to the qb.hopefully we stay healty ,but now we are in trouble at rb.

big zip.i was thinking the same thing.they should have put williams back in at rb.i know i won't be poular about this ,but akron needs to move a.jones back over to defense full time.we have plenty of guys who can catch the ball.you could rotate kenndey and williams at rb.you could aslo put williams in on defense on nickel packages.if they are not going to play torrence what do you do if kennedy goes down? i know the guy is a playmaker defense,and this does not mean he can't still play some defense. i just don't see how kennedy can carry the load for the rest of the season.jd needs to make a decisonabout torrence either way.

you can't blame the officals.we blew plenty of chances to win the game.the big penalty was the personal foul on the last punt.we would have been in great postion.the missed extra point was big also; since we had to go for two.if we make the extra point we could have tied the game with the next one.

the personal foul on the punt killed us.instead we take 15 back from where a.jones fielded the punt.Can't is a must win next week.cannot afford to be 2-4,0-2 in the mac.hopefully the rest of the mac east will keep losing though.

sorry cap't not trying to start a flame.just disapointed about this.the good thing is alott of younger guys get some playing time.with the guys we have coming back should help our depth at dl,and give us some more size up front.we should be able to rotate two deep now on the dl-line if all these guys are healthy.

what is the story with bain.does anybody know what is going on.is the guy even going to play this year?

we will be fine at rb.kennedy and johnson can get the job done.plus i would think we will see more of the fb now.i don't think they want to play torrence unless one of those guys go down.jd did a good job by getting johnson,and the three recievers.ja was a great reciever ,but that was all we had last year.we have alott more weapons on offense now.plus the o-line has improved on the running game.i just hope zip nation does not freak out if we lose to cinnci.cinnci will be a hard test for the zips.we cannot turn the ball over,and have stupid penalites.i want to win the game,but we have to beat Can't.Can't is a must win.cinnci is a out of conference game.a win would be great,but if we lose Can't we are in trouble.cannot be 0-2 in the mac to start mac play.

i hope the kid will be ok,and lead a normal life.most of us take our health for granted,and think something like this could never happen to us.even the most simple things like walking we take for granted.something like this hopefully makes everbody on this board gratefull. for the simple things like being able to walk on our own two feet.

cinnci will be tuff game.i do agree it's hard to tell where the zips are right now.after ball state beat indiana i think we will be fine in mac play.next week will be hard game to win.the Can't game is a must win game.i can't see us winning the mac east starting 0-2.after cinnci though the zip should be able to compete with anyone left on the schedule.the transfers on offense have been a big help.we have alott more weapons on offense this year,and we can run the ball.

good win by jd and the zips.i know army is not very good ,but any road win agianst a d-1 team is a good win.i thought we would be fine without allen.hopefully we will see more of the fb now.this will help us redhsirt torrence this year.hopefully we will get some more d-line back for cinnci.hard to tell if the defense has improved,but we won't really know until we play cinncinnati.i do give jd credit for bringing in new guys like johnson & some wr that have upgraded our talent.next week will not be an easy game.the big difference wiht this team and last year is we can run the ball when we need to.we are alott better in short yardage situations now.

as long as akron does not turn the ball over to army we should win this one.the one thing that scares me is the army running game.if they have the ball and run alott of clock then the zips might have problems.AKRON 28 ARMY 24.zips move to 2-2 with two road wins!!

kennedy and johnson can get the job done at rb.it would be nice to have three guys back there,but we will be ok with those two.torrence was a great pickup by jd this year.if we can redshirt him that be great,but if one of those other backs go down the jd has no choice.i do hope we get lively back for at least the Can't game.at least it would give us somebody with alott of game experience at dl.

nobody said they were a powerhouse.my point was they both beat us last year.losing to both of those teams in one year should not happen.we should not lose to one of them let alone both,but under jd it did happen.i am all for giving him one more year if we can finish 6-6.i realize how much we have been beat up on the dl.that would be the only reason to keep him one more year.

i do agree to give jd the rest of this season.the d-line injuries have hurt this team alott.if jd goes 6-6 maybe 5-7 he should stay.the one factor people forget is that buffalo,and temple were not as good as akron when jd came in.both those teams beat akron last year,and are at least as good as akron right now.they have improved where akron has skidded.i know akron is a hard place to build a program,but the coaches at temple/buffalo have not used that as an excuse.

gp sorry about that.i should have been more clear.you can twist your lineman and linebackers.the lineman can slant down,and the linebacker goes the other way.i know it's alott more difficult in a 3-3-5.i just would like to see something different from our d-line than the straight ahead approach.

coach flemming plase start doing some stunts with the d-line.we play the same basic d-line all the time.stand straight up over your offensive lineman, and blown five yeards off the ball.how about some twist wiht the d-line sometime,anytime at all. would be nice sack the qb blitizing 8 guys.

the guys we need back are lively and bain.does anybody have inside info on when/if these guys will return.not to say we don't need the other guys back either.thos two guys were counted on to plug up the middle.if we can get by army we then have another week to get some dl guys back before cinnci.not that these next two are not important games,but we need to get as many guys healthy for the next mac game.starting 0-2 in the mac means we are pretty much out of it.if we take care of the football we should be able to beat army.i have not seen cinnci play to even make a guess how good they are.the one other thing this team has to do is to control the football with the running game.we need to keep the defenese off the field.if we cannot do that,or the d-lineman cannot come back it will be along season.

i think the new stadium gets you people in the place for the first year.after that if the zips have a bad first year w-lthe second season will be just like the rubber bowl attendance.

c/k you brought up something that i totally missed.you are right that the punting game was not very good.if we get 20-30 yard punt sthe zips might as well go for it on 4th down if we are inside the opponets 40.i hope this is not true that bain is out for the year. lively does not return soon,and bain is out we will be lucky to finish 6-6.i am not blaming anybody,but or defense cannot stop anyone.maybe jd can move somebody over from the ol to dl.what is going to happen if pendelton gets hurt? the offense is going to be able to run the ball to keep the defense off the field.the zips need a win and army is a team we should beat.what scares me is if army controls the ball running,and the zips offense does not get alott of opportunites.
