  1. Definitely seems like a completely lost season for Hughes.
  2. This was the difference IMHO: The Flashes outshot the Zips 43 percent to 42 percent, with the primary difference coming from behind the 3-point line where Kent State made 7-of-19 to the Zips’ 5-of-22. The Zips came in averaging close to 11 3-pointers per game. GT also address the horrendous start to the 2nd half. During the course of Kent State’s run, UA shot 1-of-11 from the floor and at one point didn’t score for more than a seven-minute stretch.
  3. Kent State looking forward to 'opportunity' against Zips Friday On a roster laden with transfers, eight Flashes have never played against UA. Jeez.
  4. Akron Beacon: In the market for a certain olive jar?  University of Akron has just the house for you.
  5. Akron Beacon: Zips looking to extend home winning streak to 31 against rival Golden Flashes This is impressive: With a backcourt in flux for much of the season, Hall, a 6-8 senior forward, has carried a heavy load for the Flashes and leads the team in scoring (18.0), rebounding (10.5) and assists (2.5). And KD was complimentary toward to Golden Flushes front court: “I think they have really good players in that spot,” he said. “I think they’re really disjointed in that they have so many guys, they’re not sure which guys to play. Whereas with us, it’s more clear cut.”
  6. You're right. I don't. I probably should. Bowling Green & Ball State just don't do it for me for some reason.
  7. Agreed. Bowling Green
  8. There are a bunch of tweets about this on Hustlebelt's twitter feed. Here are a few:
  9. There was some buzz on twitter last night (if I have time I'll try to find some links to post) about UConn wanting to join the Big East in basketball. Apparently the American Athletic Conference wouldn't allow UConn to be a football-only member, but the MAC is considering. This is all preliminary right now & there might not be anything at all to the rumor. But what would you guys think? We tried this once before with UMass and the result was not good. Would UConn be a big enough name to stoop to allowing them football-only status?
  10. Thought this was funny. I'll just drop it here. Welcome to Ohio, Big Mike.
  11. UA Accounting Major Wins National Title of Best Grocery Bagger The UA accounting major beat out a plethora of K.ent State graduates.
  12. UA to sell President's mansion.  The house, in which President Matthew Wilson chose not to reside, still contains the infamous olive jar.
  13. I've been wondering this for a while, but never started a thread. This seems like an appropriate spot for me to ask: Why does men's college basketball operate on 2 Halves as opposed to 4 quarters? High school, women's college & NBA basketball, of course, all operate on 4 quarters. What's the rationale behind going to 2 halves?
  14. Earl Boykins & Derek Dials. They were tough.
  15. It would require one comedic "bleep," but I wish we'd use this 3-second clip once in a while: Ghostbusters
  16. As UA career winds down, Kwan Cheatham continues to improve, which bodes well for March and beyond A human interest, non-pregame and/or postgame Zips story from the Akron Beacon Journal!!! “There’s guys that deserve to be successful. This guy deserves to be successful,” Dambrot said. “It just took a while for it to all come.”
