I've come to appreciate soccer solely because of the Zips' program. I'm on the edge of my seat throughout the entire match precisely because scoring is so difficult. One defensive breakdown and you could be done. And, when I think about it, a 3-2 soccer match is the same thing as a 21-14 football game, and no one complains about a 21-14 football game. A 0-0 football game on the other hand... Lol. Yeah, I wish there was more scoring at this year's College Cup.

Those were my favorite home uni's this year. The all white - helmet, jersey & pants - was my favorite away combo. They've done a great job mixing them up this year.

(I don't want this last comment to steer discussion, as there is so much good in this article, but with all the negative press the ABJ has been giving UA, I've got to mention that at the tail end of this otherwise great article he shoehorns in a jab at the football program. Strange.)

He looked great. Wish he hadn't picked up that foul only 2 minutes into the game. He had to play a little soft for the rest of the first half. He's the best passer on the team. Very coordinated & absolutely huge. 6'9" 270. The basketball looks like a grapefruit in his hands. Beast of a rebounder & can get up & down the court just fine. Rim protector. He took two 3-point shots. Made one & the other rimmed out. Sweet & easy stroke from behind the arc, BUT OBVIOUSLY LOOKS RIGHT AT HOME DOWN LOW; we won't have any Kwan aggravation with Michael. His guards weren't very good at getting him the ball down low. I only noticed one nice pass to him down low, and it occurred with just over 2 minutes remaining in the game. I think he finished with 15 points & 10 rebounds, IIRC. i know it was a double-double.

I hope someone on the coaching staff calls into question Kwan's manhood and lights a fire under him. We need him to play down low and make some grown man moves.

Has anyone heard whether we're showing any interest in Perry RB/DB Keishaun Sims. He's kinda skinny at 6-0 but only 170 lbs., which is why I don't think he's received a single scholarship offer yet. But here at Akron, wouldn't we want to take a chance on a local athlete like this? Use him as a defensive corner. He's been named 1st Team Division 2 All-Ohio & Co-Offensive POTY. He holds the Stark County all-time single season rushing record of 3,108 yards as well as the county record for single-season points scored at 264. According to the Canton Repository, Sims' 3,108 yards are the 6th most in Ohio history... and this with one game to play, as Sims has led Perry to the D2 state championship game this Friday. The solid blue uni's we wore against Buffalo were great. Blue helmet, jersey & pants. My favorite of the year. I also like our solid white look on the road. The white kangaroo helmet we wore against Can't was pretty sweet too. (IMHO would have looked better with white pants.) I love the Z logo on anything. Basically, I love the uniform combos we've got going right now. Very cool. Honestly some of my favorite uniforms in college football & I'm not just saying that because I'm a Zips fan.
