  1. George, give us your prediction for the game. Sadly, I'm going to have to say Creighton wins 70-60 as we go on one of our patent 10-minute second-half scoring droughts.
  2. And that 6'9" power forward - Kwan Cheatham - is a "stretch-4." From what I've read he's got a really nice stroke from 3. And he just recently turned 17, so he's very young for his class - huge upside. (We may redshirt him & let him mature physically for another year?)
  3. The lack of information on last year's non-qualifiers (if that's even what they were) is puzzling. All the more so due to the fact that just a couple of days ago I emailed GT asking if he could write an article on KD's incoming b-ball recruits, and just a few days later we were given a full-length, in-depth article on all four. In an earlier email to GT, I requested information on these guys, and a number of ZNO members have been wondering about our football recruits for months now. But no information. Is TB being tight-lipped about the status of these players? Why does it seem so difficult to get information on the guys we all thought signed LOI's last February?
  4. Great article! I'd like to give a shout out to GT. A few days ago I emailed George & asked if he could give a breakdown of UA's recent recruits. Thanks George, this was a great article! Much appreciated. Just wanted to let ZNO know we've got a responsive beat writer! (I also asked if he might consider keeping tabs on the stats these guys put up this year & posting their box score lines on his blog. Often, trying to find high school stats/box scores online is pretty difficult. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. So maybe we'll have occasional updates to look forward to.)
  5. Well, I'm going to try to post two links from my Mac. Pretty sure they won't work. The FIRST was posted on George Thomas' Zips Blog yesterday. Excellent, outstanding, thoughtful, critical piece of work. We haven't had someone write about the Zips this way in years. He dissected the MTSU game & was critical of the Zips rebounding and free throw shooting. He also mentions the Zips pressure defense. Additionally, he notes his disappointment in only 2,700 showing for the game. He sarcastically remarks that the low attendance figure could be due to going up against the overwhelming excitement of a Cleveland Browns game. I love it! The SECOND is a very nice article on Brian Walsh. [Edit]: The links work!!!
  6. Thank you. We often want our cake and to eat it too.
  7. Well said. We ZNO posters are more sophisticated than your average college basketball fan. We knew how good of an opponent we had coming into the JAR in MTSU. The problem is that 99% of potential customers didn't. And don't. "Middle Tenne... who?what?" We need to schedule home games against Big Six competition. And we need to beat them. Plain & simple. Oh, and no losing to Coastal Carolina to start the year.
  8. Sweeeeet!!
  9. ^^^I have trouble adding links to articles from my Mac, but I just read an article that said, in addition to LeBron's MVP, Olympic gold & NBA championship, SI appreciated his work with Akron's schoolchildren and his "Promise" campaign with them (LeBron wore the "Promise" wristband all through the playoffs). So Akron should get quite a bit of publicity once this article drops.
  10. We've been begging for some information on this guy (and others) for about three months now. Cameron Black is another OL prospect.
  11. Then could you please tell him that a bunch of us are praying for him and pulling for him and are very excited to watch him play next year? Thank you!
  12. Pressure's back on NIU & Jordan Lynch. He looked tight to begin the game. We'll see how he responds.
  13. Wow. That was the single most vicious hit I've seen all year. Lord have mercy.
  14. Spencer Keith's arm looks awfully weak.
  15. Judging by our close loss to K.e.n.t., but thorough whipping by NIU, I thought NIU looked like the better team. Then again, I also thought BGSU looked better than K.en.t.
  16. According to the article, (someone mentioned before - Zach?) we only have 13 scholarships available for this year's recruiting class, eight of which are spoken for. Do we have a list of our 8 verbals?
  17. ESPN's Scott Van Pelt Show just had a segment mocking/lamenting the Big East. It actually seems that the MAC is now the preferable conference. How quickly times have changed.
  18. Ouch. An all-expenses paid half-hour commercial on the Worldwide Leader.
  19. Well, that's disappointing^^^ But thanks for digging that up!
  20. Wow, what a spin! He wasn't a star in the MAC either, he just took 90% of CMU's shots.
