  1. Being at the game, you could clearly see how our length was disrupting both their passing and shooting. Putting 6'8" Harney on Cooper up top was brilliant. Keeley couldn't do anything but pee down his leg against Zeke. Forsythe is going to be a true stud. Tree is simply dominant in an almost scary type of way. Kudos to KD for assembling such a diesel roster.
  2. Clicking on "images!" Good grief, I never thought of that. How simple. Thank you! Tron Jenkins, anyone?
  3. The authentic black jerseys are going to be fully customizable. I'm thinking of going vintage with mine, perhaps putting Joyce, Travis or Wood (or even Jenkins or Ball - going back to the early-to-mid-90's) on the nameplate. However, I forget what numbers, respectively, these guys wore. Does anyone know where I could locate that information?
  4. I'm taking a group of kids but am one ticket short. Does anyone have an extra they'd like to sell?
  5. It was reported that authentic jerseys will be $150 and authentic shorts are $110. That's sure not inexpensive, but since I've been complaining about a lack of authentic apparel (for years) I'll be placing an order for one of each! Go Zips!
  6. No, and he's still listed on the OSU roster.
  7. 2/1/13 LB Deontae Moore (6'4"/205), Kenmore, Akron, OH LB Jerome Lane (6'5"/210), 'Stone, Akron, OH S Logan Cox, Parkersburg South HS, Parkersburg, WV QB Tommy Woodson (6'2"/225), Gateway HS, Monroeville, PA TB Anthony Lauro (5'10"/190), Manatee HS, Bradenton, FL C Stephen Ericksen (6'4"/280), Carrollton HS, Carrollton, OH OT Ryan Kortokrax (6'5"/280), Wayne Trace HS, Haviland, OH TE Michael Kish (6'5"/250), Brentwood SHS, Pittsburgh, PA S Zach Guiser (6'1"/180), Greensburg Central Catholic HS, Greensburg, PA OG Dominick Hamilton (6'3"/310), Cass Tech HS, Detroit, MI DT Tyler Vaughn (6'0"/270), Union Grove HS, McDonough, GA TB David Gaydosz (5'10"/185), Winfield HS, Winfield, WV WR Deandre Adams (6'2"/195), Hallandale HS, Hallandale Beach, FL DT Keontae Hollis (6'2"/293), Iowa Central C.C. 8. The whole situation is strange.
  9. Again, why not just use the Info? UA concessions would get to keep all concessions $$$, or something along those lines? I just don't understand. We've literally one of the nicest football stadiums in the country adjacent to downtown bars & restaurants, but they would rather play in the Rubber Bowl?
  10. Ironically, we've actually had some trouble with NIU in the recent past. In fact, I remember a few years ago, a terrible NIU team broke a Zips' JAR winning streak which was almost ready to go on two years running.
  11. Edited, updated & bumped. Btw, I thought we only had between 13-15 schollies available? This list presently stands @ 19. 20 if we add Tommy Brown.
  12. FINALLY, There's an and-one!
  13. Harney gets the start. I think I like that - I like Chauncey coming off the bench, taking over Q's role from last year. Like Q was last year, I think Chauncey is our best all-around player.
  14. Thanks for the tip. How's his knee rehab going?
  15. Present educated scuttlebutt: LB Dontae Moore, Kenmore HS, Akron, OH ATH Jerome Lane, Firestone HS, Akron, OH S Logan Cox, Parkersburg South HS, Parkersburg, WV QB Tommy Woodson, Gateway HS, Monroeville, PA TB Anthony Lauro, Manatee HS, Brandenton, FL C Stephen Ericksen, Carrollton HS, Carrollton, OH OT Ryan Kortokrax, Wayne Trace HS, Haviland, OH TE Michael Kish, Brentwood SHS, Pittsburgh, PA S Zach Guiser, Greensburg Central Catholic HS, Greensburg, PA OG Dominick Hamilton, Cass Technical HS, Detroit, MI DT Tyler Vaughn, Union Grove HS, McDonough, GA RB David Gaydosz, Winfield HS, Winfield, WV WR Deandre Adams, Hallandale HS, Hallandale Beach, FL DT Keontae Hollis, 6'2"/293, Iowa Central C.C. DT LaVonne Gauthney, 6'1"/292, Hargrave Military Academy RB Manny Morgan, 5'8"/180, Naples HS, Naples, FL WR Austin Wolf, 6'4"/205, Lebanon HS, Lebanon, OH OG Cedric Brittnum, 6'5"/315, ASA College CB Donte Williams, 5'11"/175, ASA College OL Tommy Brown? (good question, 33Akrondad7)
  16. Oooh, I'm jealous! I hope they follow through, as the end of the tweet mentions, and offer some for sale.
  17. This is blowing up. Unlike the NIU-EMU fiasco, this has been great for the MAC. With so many people likely to tune in, I hope it's an entertaining, well played game. Go Zips!
  18. Good analysis. Nobody, of course, wants a slow running back, as "speed kills." But, IMHO, the straight 40 time is one of the most overrated statistics. Really, in game situations, unless you're a WR running an occasional streak, nobody ever runs 40 yards in a straight line. (Please, unless you sincerely disagree with this, spare me the example of the rare exception. Lol) personally, I think quick, 5-yards bursts are much more important in the game of football. It's similar to when friends tell me, "So-and-so high school has two linemen who are 6-5/ 295. Akron should sign them." Yeah, well those linemen are fat, not muscle, can't bend @ the waist, can't come off the line, can't move their feet and don't cherish contact. There are so many intangibles to being a good football player. Kid looks plenty fast enough & like a good get. Go Zips!
  19. And as of 1/29 we can add: DT Keontae Hollis, 6'2"/293, Iowa Central C.C. DT LaVonne Gauthney, 6'1"/292, Hargrave Military Academy RB Manny Morgan, 5'8"/180, Naples HS, Naples, FL
  20. I love the Z logo. I wish we could buy official jerseys. I'd also want a grey. (I'd also like a pair of both the black & grey shorts - actually, going to the gym & whatnot, I'd probably end up wearing those more often than the tops. Lol.) And next year and thereafter... GOLD! These blacks w/ the Z are sweet.
  21. The Big East truly is an odd situation. Next year it will be composed almost completely of (former) Conference USA schools.
  22. Joe Dunn mentioned on his show this evening that the matchups weren't going to be released till next Monday.
  23. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission, right?
